In 2009, Porsche's 997.2 generation debuted new driver technology, revised styling, and more powerful flat-six engines with direct fuel injection. This 6-speed Carrera 4S Coupe comes finished in Black over matching leather upholstery. It originally commanded an original sticker price of over $102k, including a navigation module for PCM, the Bose High-End Sound Package, XM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, heated/ventilated front seats, and more. Previously sold on PCARMARKET, this lifetime southern California example is now being offered for auction by its seller while showing just over 40k miles on the odometer.
This 997.2 comes finished in Black and can be distinguished as a 4S from the standard Carrera by its wide fenders, red brake calipers, and signature reflector band connecting the taillights. It rides on factory 19” Carrera S II wheels with optional colored Porsche center crests. Some slight imperfections are noted on the rims. The previous owner removed the paint protection film from the front end, revealing the original paint which is reported to remain in great condition. They also had a professional paint correction performed along with the application of a $3k Ceramic Pro treatment, which includes a lifetime warranty. The cabin presents Black standard leather upholstery with optional heated and ventilated front seats as well as black floor mats. Other optional features include a navigation module for PCM, the Bose High-End Sound Package, XM Radio, Bluetooth Phone Interface, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus adding a stopwatch dial atop the dashboard. The interior is said to have been excellently preserved, and all gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
This Carrera 4S carries a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine with direct fuel injection and an output of up to 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.5 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono Package Plus allows the driver to optimize engine performance characteristics, and the optional Sport Shifter provides shorter more direct gear changes. The seller adds that a collection of service records since the original ownership will accompany the sale including recent services from Beverly Hills Porsche and Retrospec in San Pedro, California. The CARFAX report lists 9 service history entries.
This sale will include a clean title, two keys, driving gloves, a car cover, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, and a host of service documentation.

The PPI is confusing to me. For example, for engine oil or, say, coolant level it just has a check box. It doesn't say if the interval service was actually completed. Has the 30k published interval items been completed? (These are the Porsche recommended/published intermediate maintenance items).

@JBsCarerra Have you read the pre purchase inspection report that was conducted on Friday, May 24th? There is no mention of a need for a new clutch. There is a recommendation for new tires, with the stated reason being age (Week 22 of 2016). Not wear and tear. I downloaded the report Friday evening, so it’s available for your perusal. Cheers!

Great news! I have uploaded the PPI, which was completed this evening at @retrospecLA. It is a thorough 7 page report, though I have uploaded it out of sequence, and the cover page is actually the 3rd page in the upload. My mechanic has also said that he is happy to answer any questions directly, but out of respect to him, I ask that you only ask me for his number if you are serious about making a bid on the car. The report is very clean, and confirms what I already told you. This car is a gem. Happy bidding!

I just got the following from my mechanic in regards to paint specs and the blue tooth question/
“ Hey michael all paint metered 4-5 mils which is factory spec
Regarding Bluetooth, it does have BT phone calls, without audio which was the standard back in 2009. However there is an aux input which would allow an accessory Bluetooth controller”
@tathuluru I believe that they are the factory headlights. I did not put new headlights in, and there was no indication that they are not.
@PbPed I have to double check. There is Bluetooth in the car, but I always listen to the radio. Old school style. I believe there’s also a plug in for phone to car.

UPDATE - I have just uploaded a DME that was performed today at the shop. It should appear in the gallery shortly. From my Mechanic, "Wow this car definitely has not been driven hard, only a handful of ignitions in range one. Range one is basically just tapping redline ." The PPI will be following up soon.

@rbrunson UPDATE TO QUESTION. I just left the car with my mechanic. There is NO damage to the vehicle as depicted in the photos. Those are rubber trim that simply came undone. He’s going to tuck them back in and apply adhesive. Therefore there will be no repair, nor cost associated with those photos. Cheers!
@Jessannjoh sorry for the delay. Just left the car in the shop to get DME and PPI done. For now, tires are 2016 week 22 and in good condition.

@MaxtheCat OK, so I've reached out to my mechanic to see how quickly I can get a current DME as well as a PPI. I'll download a photo of the DME, that I currently have, though it is dated 5/12/08, when the car had 33,751 miles on it. It lists the Over-Revs Range 1 as follows: 1 / 3 17H. It does not list any other OverRevs. I'll download whatever individual documents that I think will be useful by end of day. Cheers and thank you!

@rbrunson Hello, I'm glad you asked that. I did not even notice that "damage", until I saw it in the pictures. It is simply rubber, that has become dislodged, not metal. It's barely noticeable at all when just viewing the vehicle, so I never thought about a repair on it. I don't know what the cost would be to repair, but I can't imagine that it would be much. That said, I'll see if I can find out.
Can you provide more details on the damage shown in pictures 42 and 125 and what it would cost to repair?
Can you also provide a DME report?

@artichoke I bought the car 3 years and two months ago, with 36K miles on it, and have put almost exactly 4K miles on it. As far as I am aware, I am the 4th owner, and the 4th driver. The carfax says 5 owners, but when I review the carfax date by date, including myself I only see 4 owners. Perhaps this is because there was a lien on one of the owners, which was later released. I have no issues with the car. She has never been tracked.
