Up for auction is this 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet finished in the desirable combination of Carrara White over a special ordered Cocoa leather interior. Being the last year equipped with the legendary Mezger engine and the first year with an upgraded 997.2 PCM system, this 2009 is not to be overlooked. Additionally, this example boasts a desirable 6-speed manual transmission as well as a clean bill of health. Showing only 37k miles on the odometer, this Turbo is being offered for auction in by its seller out of Miami Gardens, Florida.
Finished in Carrara White, this Turbo is said to remain in excellent overall condition with detailed images provided in the photo gallery. This 997 boasts a commanding presence due to its factory widened rear fenders, dual side air intakes, and 19” factory Turbo wheels. The Carfax report notes water damage, however, documentation will show that the only damage caused to this vehicle was on the convertible top due to vandalism. The seller states that the top has since been professionally replaced at a certified Porsche dealership and records will show that this vehicle never suffered any water damage. The seller noted that the Carfax issue is being disputed at this moment.
Inside, you will find a special-order Cocoa leather interior that features hard back sport seats. As a 2009 variation, this Turbos interior sports an updated PCM unit, making this an incredibly desirable spec. The seller confirms that this interior remains in excellent condition and comes complete with fully functional accessories and electronics including an aftermarket bluetooth stereo system. The original radio will be included with the sale.
What makes this Turbo truly special is its legendary 3.6L turbocharged Mezger engine. This example produces approximately 488 bhp and 457 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a crisp 6-speed manual transmission. Originally developed for the 911 GT1 Le Mans cars, the Mezger engine is regarded by many Porsche enthusiasts as the pinnacle of water-cooled engines. Featuring true dry sump and crank driven oil pumps, this engine resists oil surge in even the most aggressive cornering. Furthermore, this GT1 derived engine doesn’t suffer from IMS bearing related issues as its oil system ensures constant lubrication. This Turbo has always been properly serviced and has records indicating it to be up-to-date and in excellent running condition.
Included in the sale of this Turbo Cabriolet are all associated books, a master key and service records indicating that this Turbo has suffered no accidents or mechanical failures during its time on the road. This Cabriolet makes the perfect addition to any true enthusiast’s garage and is sure to satisfy even the most discerning driver.

To lunair, MD. Thank you for your well wishes! Very classy - as most Porsche people are.

Ah well. Still a beautiful car. If you can clear the carfax issue and relist, I think you'll easily get your price. Good luck in the future.

With more hp and torque than the 992 new Carrera S this now11 year old car will not disappoint. I’ve driven them both and the 997.2 turbo will deliver IMO a more intense driving experience.
@mezgerfan i got ahold of a Paint meter and have posted the pics of all the readings.

@PCARMARKET thank you
@Jojo The incorrect documents have been removed from the listing gallery.
@Jojo that service bill belongs to a countach... I did not supply that to PCarMarket .. must have been an error loading the docs .... I am checking w them now.... Stand by....No odometer roll back here.. EVER!!!!
In the most recent service that was done June of 2020, the mileage is stated at 12,000 Miles. Was this a service advisor mistake or does the vehicle have rollback odometer?

@550bryan agreed.. but I had it done cause it makes some ppl warm and fuzzy.....lol
As the owner of the same car but in a coupe configuration I can attest that the DME reports are meaningless. You can generate a 5 or 6 reading by simply hitting the rev limiter. If you are concerned about a specific car get a PPI. As to over-reving a Mezger engine, has anyone ever heard of someone scattering one of these engines? Tuners regularly push 850 HP before considering upgrading the lower end and as we know these motors placed in GT-1's and 962's competed in 24 hour races reving over 9000 RPM. The rev limiter on a 997.1 turbo is something like 6800 rpm. Love the interior combination with white BTW. GLWTS

@scragin FL has no front plates, no real tint restrictions, less sales tax, no annual state inspections....why wouldn't you register in FL if you could?
@scragin No never tracked
New front brakes at 20k mi. Was this car tracked, perhaps?
@scragin i will load the DME report
@scragin second owner has dual residence.... CT taxes are higher and they have a Property tax
DME? I'm thankful for the service records, but they indicate a lot of work done during its first 37k miles. I'm also wondering why the second owner serviced the car in Connecticut but kept it registered in Florida.
@mezgerfan on behalf of the seller :
1. The car does not have PPF on it
2. I don't have a paint meter however, it does not appear that there's any paint work on the car
3. In November of 2009 the soft top with slashed to steal items out of the front seat Porsche replaced the top (see service records in March of 2011) the replaced top was fading in color and Porsche replaced it again during water leak test left side had a leak the top was adjusted and no leak was present.
*Porsche is currently assisting in resolving the Carfax Issue
1. Does the car have PPF on it, and if so, for how long?
2. Can you post paint meter readings and better lit photos of paint and interior condition
3. Is it possible for you to elaborate on how the car was damaged?
@mezgerfan I just looked and i do have the original factory radio
i believe i have it in storage however if i don't and the car meets it conservative reserve i would buy one and include it w the sale
Is the original radio included in the sale?
