Now being offered for auction is this 2009 Porsche 997.1 Turbo coupe finished in the rare combination of Aqua Blue Metallic over a Sea Blue full leather interior. Featuring PCCB ceramic composite brakes and a legendary twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, this generously optioned Turbo commanded an original sticker price of over $148k. This 2009 example is especially sought after as it debuted the next-generation PCM offered as standard in the 997.2 series. Preserved under full paint protection film and ceramic coating while displaying just under 21k miles on the odometer, this pristine 2009 Turbo is now being offered by its seller in Santa Barbara, CA.
Finished in Aqua Blue Metallic, the paint on this 997 is said to be in outstanding condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Clear paint protective film has also been applied over the whole exterior prior to a full application of ceramic coating at a cost of over $6k. This 997 retains its factory specified look with yellow PCCB brake calipers tucked behind original Turbo wheels which come dressed in healthy Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Distinctive features include wide fenders with rear side air intakes, a speed activated rear spoiler and the factory optional painted exterior package.
The cabin is upholstered in full Sea Blue leather with Adaptive Sport Seats, Silver seat belts and a painted center console. Other exclusive factory details include illuminated stainless-steel doorsills, Bluetooth phone interface, PCM voice control, universal audio interface and Sport Chrono Package. The interior is stated to be in exceptional condition and entirely stock in its configuration with the exception of an added iPhone jack and Coco floormats.
Marking the final iteration of the Mezger 911 Turbo, this 997.1 is powered by a twin-turbocharged flat-six Mezger engine rated at 480 HP. All four wheels are driven through a highly desirable 6-speed manual transmission allowing this coupe to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.7 seconds. Coveted for its race-derived design, the Mezger engine is widely regarded as one of the greatest water-cooled Porsche motors of all time. Optional PCCB ceramic composite brakes provide superior stopping power while the Sport Chrono Package enables the driver to clock lap times and optimize performance characteristics while underway. A complete collection of service records shows proper routine maintenance and the seller confirms this Turbo to be in excellent driving order.
The sale of this 2009 Turbo will include a set of 2 keys, original owner’s books and documentation, service records, a front tow-hook license plate bracket and a clear title. Highlighting an impressive configuration, this low-mileage 2009 Turbo represents a very attractive opportunity to any discerning Porsche enthusiast.

@jmerk2 Yes...current bid does exceed the payoff
@lstay1055 Thanks. I don't see that in the write-up but maybe I missed it. What is the payoff or at least does the current bid exceed the payoff?
@jmerk2 Lease is with Putnam in Greenwich, CT and was disclosed upon listing. Process would be to pay Putnam direct and they will send me any differential.
@lstay1055 If this has been answered sorry but Carfax says this is a lease car. Is that correct or do you have a clear title?
@cfgen I agree, this could be a great opportunity for someone to take a chance and get a great deal at the current price, assuming it meets reserve. It's just puzzling that on a car of this caliber, seller wouldn't be more forthcoming with the answers which were all asked on the first or second day of the auction. DME and paint meter could easily be done by almost any local shop, condition of PCCBs could have been addressed via some simple close up pics with wheels removed and commentary from seller, and the two spots on the hood could have been addressed with one close up pic to show if they are or are not there. Basic stuff. I really don't get it.
Interesting interplay between seller and potential bidders.
I'm still debating whether to take a chance and bid @ premium pricing or not.
Risky with unanswered questions, but could be a sweet reward.

In order for any seller to obtain the maximum bid amount possible from interested buyers, there should zero uncertainty and all the required information needs to be forthcoming so buyers could do their due diligence and bid with the outmost confidence knowing exactly the type of condition the car is in
@lstay1055 it's your auction so you're free to do (or not do) whatever you choose, but by not showing a DME, you're probably eliminating half of the potential bidders. Maybe the current 93K bid is all you wanted, so this is a moot point. But I'm sure this car can go higher if any question marks are removed. Also, PPI stands for Pre-Purchase, not Post-Purchase Inspection, so offering someone the ability to do the inspection after they are already out the ~$5k PCAR buyers fee is also not confidence inspiring. I'm not saying any of this to offend you in any way. You have a very beautiful and unique car here and I think you can ultimately get a much higher price for it if you're willing to put some effort into making sure all the questions are answered.
Any more reason behind not being able to perform a DME? This was first requested 6 days ago and seems like a very rational request for what is prob one of the most .1% most expensive 997s around. Too big of a red flag for me to bid but GLWTA.
@lstay1055 sorry to hear that. GLWTA
@Tbt323 Sorry to say I won’t be able to accommodate your request. Thanks for your interest...
Beautiful car, I love aqua 997s! Your car looks amazing, however a DME report is really a must for me for an auction where a PPI has not been done preemptively. Not just for knowing today as a buyer but for when/if I go to sell the car later on and that buyer asks for it. Any way you could get it read tomorrow?
Hello interested bidders,
I’ve received a few questions and write to emphasize that this car is a standout. It has not been tracked and has been serviced exclusively by the local factory Porsche dealer. When I brought it to the dealer prior to buying, they told me ‘It’s an incredibly special car and there’s only one thing wrong it - it hasn’t been driven enough!’ My expert consultants and fellow car buddies tell me that that a paint meter reading would be inaccurate based on the full body wrap. Regarding the rotors - neither I nor the previous owner have ever taken the wheels off, so it’s hard to imagine any issues since the Porsche dealer has done and seen everything. If whomever wins the bid would like to have a PPI done (at their own expense) I’m all for it. Good luck to all!

Would also like to see a DME, paint meter readings, confirmation on the rotor condition, and detailed hood pics please.

VERY PRETTY CAR.
Seller, please confirm that there is no damage to the PCCB rotors; such as chipping from wheel removal / installation.
Thank you.
@istay1055 thank you for the reply. Some close ups of that hood would be appreciated. It's strange because the white spots appear in the same place in pics from different angles.
Beautiful car!!!!
Wow. That's a gorgeous car.
@356rehab Hello @356rehab,
There are a few VERY minor stone chips which were present before I bought and had complete car wrapped and windshield as well. There's some scuffing on the leather driver's door sill which is evident in the photo's taken. This car was ordered/purchased/owned by Santa Barbara residents...I'll give it a 9.5 rating
Seller-on a scale of 1-10(10 being perfect) can you please rate the paint....and identify any paint chips, scratches or imperfections...
Thx
Bid in the amount of $89,000
@siabond26 Hello @siabond26,
Thanks for your interest. I'll post paint meter readings in the next day or so when I return from LA back home to SB. I'll look into DME and report back...
@GlennG Hi Again @GlennG,
Yes, I have the factory bumper plug to go along with the car...car cover and new plastic front chin spoiler as well.
@GlennG Hello @GlennG,
Thanks for you interest and question. It's either a reflection or a small drop of something on top of plastic (the car is fully wrapped). I can take another shot in the next day or so...I'm in LA for a couple of days and car is at my home in Santa Barbara. There's no paint/plastic issue...
Bid in the amount of $88,000
2009 models are the ones to have as they have the prized Mezger engine and the PCM v3.0, which is a terrific upgrade. This is really a beautiful example!
Are you planning on posting paint meter numbers throughout the car? Also do you have a recent inspection? Do you have a DME report?
Also, is the factory painted tow hook cover included?
Beautiful car. What are the two dime size spots on the passenger side of the hood? They can be seen in pictures 16 and 19 so not likely to be light reflections? Is a DME report available?
