A unique transitory model year for the 911 Turbo, examples produced for 2009 were the last to feature the coveted 3.6-liter Mezger engine while also debuting new technology of the coming 997.2 generation. This 2009 Cabriolet comes finished in Ruby Red Metallic over Sand Beige full leather upholstery and features the optional Sport Chrono Package, a painted rear center console, exclusive Guards Red seatbelts, and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in leather. The car has also been fitted with H&R lowering springs, BMC performance air filters, and Cobb Stage 2 tune. Kept up to date on service and with just over 35k miles showing on the odometer, this Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ohio.
This Turbo was ordered in Ruby Red Metallic, a classic Porsche color of the early 1980s. Other equipment includes a Cocoa cabriolet roof and factory 19” 911 Turbo wheels. Clear paint protection film has been applied over the front bumper as well as the forward portion of the fenders and hood, the mirror caps, and ahead of the rear wheels. Some small imperfections are evident on the front spoiler and PPF, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The Sand Beige full leather upholstery is contrasted by exclusive seatbelts in Guards Red as well as a rear center console painted to match the exterior. Other optional features include heated front seats, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in leather, and a Sport Chrono stopwatch dial on the dashboard. The 997.2 generation PCM also features an optional Bluetooth phone interface, XM Radio, and Universal Audio Interface. The seller notes an aftermarket Passport radar detector unit has been installed on the dashboard.
The twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission sending up to 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque stock to all four wheels. The example features the optional Sport Chrono Package as well as BMC air filters and a Cobb Stage 2 tune for increased power and performance. The ride height has also been lowered with H&R springs for improved handling and a more aggressive stance. The seller reports a full 30k-mile service was completed in 2017 including the replacement of the water pump and coolant. The most recent oil service was completed in October of 2021 at 34k miles and additional maintenance records are available dating back to 2016.
This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, and a clean title.

@MezgerTT they are not. We do not see any visible evidence of paintwork other than maybe the passenger rear quarter, but the readings in the 8-10mil range are outside of the typical factory range of 3.5-6mil. If there was paintwork done, it was done to an incredibly high standard.
@switchcars
A bit late to this auction, trying to determine if the paint meter readings of 10 mil, 9 mil and 6 mil are on areas with PPF present? Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $76,750
@Hastings_ah The engine has not been dropped. These are nearly bulletproof Mezger engines and short of replacing a clutch, pinning coolant lines, or replacing a rear main seal, there's no reason to drop the engine. There's no engine-out major service like on the 964/993.
The overrevs are not a direct result of the cobb tune, as I've seen dozens of stock-ecu Turbos with range 3+ overrevs, but it certainly can contribute to an increased number of over speed ignitions as some tunes will bump the rev limiter.
When was the last time the engine was dropped?
That Cobb tune is a direct result of the over-revs. Has the cars suspension system been updated to support the stress of the lowering springs. Not upgrading the shocks when lowering the car causes the suspension to go out much quicker

@rowdy23 A DME report has been uploaded.
Please refer to this video for a guide to reading DME reports - there is a lot of misinformation out there about what they actually mean. Range 3-4 are VERY common and not a concern on Turbos, as opposed to GT3s where range 2+ are rarely every seen.

The kind of 911 you see in magazines and posters
Rare color combo and thanks for the detailed photos!
Are you able to provide a DME report
Hello Seller!
Great looking Porsche! Ruby Red Metallic/Sand is a winning combo. Good luck to you and the new owner!
I test drove this car 2 years ago before the shut downs began. A true beauty and the beast with it’s stunning build and power plant. Eye candy accompanying a Mezger wow.

Thank you for the interest and bids thus far!
One quick thing to note - it is not just a "radar/laser system on the dashboard", but a fully-integrated Passport 9500ci with radar detection and laser diffusers mounted front and rear (front is in the grille, rear is on the license plate). It is an older system but the software can be updated with a laptop and USB cable, and I've used it numerous times with success.
Consistent with our name - "switchcars" - we've had this car in our stock multiple times, as the owners are loyal to us but a bit ADD with automobiles. We initially acquired it in 2016 out of Florida from a long-time car collector down there who is incredibly particular, and had it shipped up to the Amelia Concours to enjoy for the weekend before bringing it home to our Ohio facility. We then sold it to a good local client who owned it for a year or so - obviously only driving it in the summer - and he traded it back in on a 991 Targa sourced from Porsche of Beachwood.
We then sold the car to a client in Kentucky who kept it for a couple of years and just traded it back in. His ownership is a testament to Porsche (especially Mezger-powered) reliability, as the only maintenance needed during his ownership was a couple of fluid services at the dealer. We inspected the car upon receiving it back to our facility and confirmed the clean bill of health in addition to performing a comprehensive detail.
The rear spoiler hydraulics work beautifully, the clutch slave cylinder feels good, and the car drives very well. I've personally had the privilege of putting a couple thousand miles on this car between the Amelia weekend and taking it on vacation in 2020 to the Smoky Mountains with my wife, and it's been an joy to drive - 997 Turbos are so good at being easy to use and drive on a regular basis.
Best of luck to all bidders and please feel free to reach out with any questions
