The SL 65 AMG was released in 2004 as Mercedes-Benz's flagship luxury roadster, equipped with a long list of driver amenities and a 6.0L Biturbo V12 producing over 600 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft of torque. This 2009 example was ordered in Iridium Silver Metallic over a red Exclusive leather interior and was first titled in Virginia before relocating to Texas. Equipment includes a retractable hardtop with a panoramic glass panel, Parktronic parking sensors, climate-controlled multi-contour seats, the Airscarf warming system, AMG exterior styling, and the Active Body Control suspension system. Showing just over 15k miles on the odometer, this 2009 SL 65 AMG is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of Texas.
The exterior is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic (775U) with a power-folding hardtop featuring a panoramic glass roof panel. Other features include an AMG-styled front bumper and side skirts, a finned rear diffuser, a trunk lid spoiler, fender vents, “V12 Biturbo” badging, bi-xenon headlights, foglights, a vented hood, silver brake calipers with black AMG script, and quad exhaust tips. Detailed images depicting the vehicle’s condition are provided in the gallery, along with a clean CARFAX report. Split-spoke 19” AMG wheels are mounted with Pirelli tires from 2015.
The interior is upholstered in Exclusive red leather (537A) and features heated and ventilated 12-way power adjustable seats with diamond-stitched inserts, AMG badges in the backrests, and the Airscarf neck warming system. Matching door panels also wear diamond-stitched inserts, contrasted by black leather upper panels that match the black leather dashboard. Burred Walnut wood trim spans from the dashboard from the center console to the door panels, and Designo Anthracite Alcantara lines the roof. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Parktronic parking sensors, Keyless Go keyless entry, illuminated AMG-branded door sills, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a COMAND infotainment screen.
The SL 65 AMG is equipped with a hand-built 6.0L M275 Biturbo V12 that generates up to 604 HP and 738 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 3.8 seconds and an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. The CARFAX report shows a consistent history of dealership and specialty shop maintenance, and the last recorded entry shows a safety and emissions inspection completed in January of 2020.

@RACRX What year was it? Surprised that can be jammed so easily. Even if you had left it unlocked with the door open (so no need to jam) how are they going to start it? They can't be hotwired, they didn't have your key? Sorry for all questions but now I'm worried about mine so wanted to get some tips as I figured mine was immune from stealing.

My personal opinion of these hi performance V12 AMG cars is one they are the best driving muscle cars ever made. Second, in time people will seek low mileage convertibles such as this one. I would call this car a definite future collectable and it's a bargain under 100k. Seriously thinking of bidding here.
Whomever wins this auction is in for a real treat. As the owner of a 2005 sl65, these cars are HAUL! Great color combo too.
At this price, I feel really great about my purchase and the future market for v12 Merks!

@VikingH I had a S65 4 dr stolen from me in November, They jammed my security system for 14 minutes and stole the car, Broke my heart, Only had 23K miles on it, and was certified , Only car my wife agreed with me, I will never sell it, I have a G55 also, they left it and took the S class , I have always wanted a coupe witth low miles My car was same color silver,
@RACRX yes, we transport 20 + cars a month. I have many great carriers that run houston to south Florida. 1100 to 1200 enclosed is the average cost for a trip. and takes 3-4 days usually.
@VikingH This year came with a 5 spd, They changed it to 7 spd in the later years, As for the car, Do you have a transport company you work with, or know, I am in Fort Lauderdale Fl.

@kbbcpa5 all the research I have says the 2009 Sl65 came with a 5 speed. The car is as it came from factory.
@RACRX I downloaded a Monroney label showing the original MSRP at just under 200k. I do not have the original window sticker, but it has all books, 2 keys, first aid kit, etc.
@DFried there was one code which I downloaded a screen shot. it was for the signal wire to the glove compartment light. we ordered a new glove compartment bulb and light assembly and will replace3.

Your description states that the car has a 5-speed automatic. Shouldn’t it have the 7-speed automatic? I’m no expert, just wondering.

@DFried I was going to send to a Independent shop that is quicker and more efficient and also has the factory scanner to pull fault codes. I will get that done ASAP.

@VikingH The car sat for over two and half years. Regardless of miles driven it needs an oil change in addition to other fluids.
@DFried the car shows it doesn't need a service b for 10,000 more miles as it hasn't been driven since the last oil change much. that said, it has been over a year so I was going to have fresh fluids put in prior to delivery.

@DFried there is no evidence of any paintwork on the car. It appears to be all factory paint. I do not have a gauge, but I would notice and paintwork.

@DFried We put a battery in it when we received it and it has a annual service scheduled Monday. Last service was done about two years go, and the car was only driven a few hundred miles since. There are some other service records I will send in to be posted as well.
additionally I would like to know if the car has had ANY paint repair work done. How about paint readings??
