The fourth iteration of BMW's revered M3 is celebrated among enthusiasts for its high-revving 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with a precise shifter, impeccable handling, and sport-oriented design. This 2009 M3 sedan comes finished in Silverstone Metallic over a Fox Red Novillo leather and features a 6-speed manual transmission, a carbon fiber roof, 19" Style 220 M wheels, a power-operated sunroof, an enhanced sound system, and the Technology and Premium packages. Upgraded with a Macht Schnell Stage 2 intake, BBE Triflo cat-back exhaust system, and more, this one-owner example is now being offered for auction out of North Carolina with less than 13k miles showing on the odometer.
The M3 stands apart from its standard 3-Series counterparts with distinctive widened wheel arches, front fender vents, bold fascias, flared side skirts, aluminum power dome hood, quad exhaust tips, and a rear decklid spoiler. Finished in Silverstone Metallic, this example showcases a Shadowline trim, a power-operated sunroof, adaptive xenon headlights, and carbon fiber kidney grills. It rides on forged 19” 220 M Double Spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller states that the original set of rims will be included in the sale. Additionally, LLumar Platinum Plus 35% window tint was applied, and paint protection film covers the front grill, hood, front fenders, rock panels, and side mirrors. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a CARFAX report.
Inside, the heated front sport seats are upholstered in Fox Red Novillo leather, accompanied by a 3-spoke M-branded steering wheel featuring tri-color stitching, aluminum trim accents, and an Anthracite headliner. Amenities include an iPod and USB adapter, satellite radio capability, tri-zone automatic climate control, and cruise control. Additional interior features comprise adjustable front armrests, a rear center armrest, and folding rear-seat headrests. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be operational, with no illuminated warning lights reported.
Power is derived from a naturally aspirated high-compression S65 4.0-liter V8 engine featuring double-VANOS variable valve timing and delivers up to 414 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission with a Variable M Differential Lock. The vehicle's performance is further enhanced with a Macht Schnell Stage 2 air intake, a Champion X-pipe with catalytic converters, and a BBE Triflo cat-back exhaust system. Braking is facilitated by four-wheel vented and cross-drilled discs measuring 14.2″ and 13.8″ front and rear, respectively. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is equipped as standard.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, the factory exhaust system, original wheels, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Original owner, garage kept, still smells new, you will be hard-pressed to find a better example of this great car. Thanks for visiting this auction!”

Beautiful example. I've seen this car on Facebook and even inquired about purchasing a couple weeks ago prior to its arrival on PCarMarket. For what it's worth, I too am a bit old fashioned when it comes to physical printed documentation, ownership lineage, and service history on a car and believe that it should always accompany the car in the event of a sale as it only adds to the collectability and presentation. While I understand I might be a bit OCD, for all my cars I make a 3-ring binder and organize all the records in plastic sleeves, and in chronological order - even if they are boring oil changes. New owners certainly appreciate it as well. Good luck with the sale, I hope it goes to a good home.

@sonderwunsche I haven’t got anything from Leith yet. Yes I do have cables, and still remember the system has a USB PORT in the glove box that you can listen to music from.
@WesterM3 - as @FSAR mentioned, it would be fantastic if Leith BMW can send you a complete copy of your service history, even if a boring read (my understanding is that dealerships will ONLY release those records to the owner and not people bidding on the car).
Sorry if this has been asked somewhere before, but do you still have the iPod cable that came with the car? I actually still have an iPod from 2008 that uses that old connector - would be nice to use it in this car :-)

X-Pipes are CHALLENGE-USA, Sport X-pipe with high flow cats.
@FSAR I can definitely reach out to Leith and get service reports on what they've done. But I can assure you this car has been babied and maintained properly from day one. Between myself and local shops yes the brake and clutch fluids and oil changes have been done on regular schedule, I live about an hour from Leith BMW so it was simply easier to handle those type things locally. You really are not going to find another E90 M in this great condition and so few miles. As for the cats that would be an easy fix!
@WesterM3 Got it. Thanks.
Based on your info, so brake fluids, clutch fluid or any other maintenance has not been done. Also I just checked and champion x-pipe is not carb certified, so this car will NOT pass CA state smog inspection with these cats.
@FSAR NC no longer has emissions checks for annual inspection, but for years (while car was setup currently) they indeed did visual inspection as well as OBD verification. I can definitely reach out to Leith next week for records but it will be a boring read. Mainly a few oil changes and couple of warranty/recall issues I believe there was an air bag recall one year and some kind of wiring harness replacement one year. Major stuff like the rod bearings and throttle actuators have not been done because I just have not felt the need to do them. As for the X-pipe it is a Champion American made x-pipe with high flow cats, I am uncertain of CARB certification.
@WesterM3 thank you.
does NC do smog inspection? ( visual & functional obd check?)
just FWIW- you can have BMW dealer sent you all your maintenance records and you can post them here.
What brand is X-pipe, do you know if those are CARB certified?
@FSAR I don't have any hard copies of service record but most maintenance was done at Leith BMW of Raleigh. The wheels are monoblock rims by DPE (Dynamic Performance Engineering), not sure of the offset but they are 20 inch, and no spacers. In NC up until recently we had to pass emissions testing and the high flow cats with the tune never through error codes. Obviously cats could be changed out and yes the tune is reversible.
@WesterM3 thanks for reply. few more questions.
do you have any service records from BMW dealership that you can share? I only see 1 oil service at BMW dealer on carfax report.
What kind of wheels are those? what size & offset, are you using any spacers?
you mentioned original x-pipe & cats are not available, that means it's not smog legal in some states, specially I'm talking about CA ,
Also, is tune reversible? that is a problem in CA for smog unless it is CARB certified.
@e90m3buyer Car is exclusively on this sight for sale! Reserve is fair so please bid with confidence! This car is cleaner than any other you will find I can promise you that!
@PCARMARKET sounds good. Thanks !
GLWS !
@e90m3buyer no the car and price on previous ad are irrelevant to this auction.
@pcarmarket do you guys allow for cross posting? Seems fishy that the price was upped literally $30k on M3List in 24 hours… might want to remove that listing.
@Bybrandon The Champion X-pipe still has cats (high flow) which have been tuned and throw no error codes on emissions. I don't have the stock X-pipes. All fluids are up to date, and serviced through Leith BMW of Raleigh, NC. Original tires are still on the stock rims so if reverting back to stock rims (which are included with the sale) I would personally replace the tires. The car is on H&R springs, and the stock springs I no longer have.
@FSAR All recommended service done at Leith BMW of Raleigh, NC. The BBE triflo catback exhaust is awesome, stainless steel throughout and sounds great. If the buyer doesn't like it though, it can always be removed and the stock exhaust that I'm including with the sale can be reinstalled. The car is lowered on H&R springs.
beautiful car, have couple of questions.
1. beside few oil changes showing on carfax report, have you done any other maintenance like brake fluid or clutch fluid, filters, belt? i don't any mention of any other services, Do you have any inspection report ?
2. about that exhaust, why those tailpipes stick out so much? it looks kind of out of place.
3. is the car lowered?
Very cool car and a pretty spec. I’ve been watching this car on a few different websites for a couple months now, at a pretty tall asking price initially. Then it seems it was lowered incrementally and now it looks to be back up to a high number on M3List. Not sure how that works if someone were to want to “buy it now” on their website given that it’s currently up for auction? Will be interesting to watch… This car should go to a collector willing to preserve it like you have done and keep it fairly OEM in my opinion - that said, @seller I have a few questions for you.
I see the car is equipped with a champion motorsports x pipe - do you have the original X pipe with the stock cats included in the sale in the event it goes to an emissions state? Was the check engine light tuned out to disable the “increased emissions” code an X Pipe would potentially cause?
Are all fluids up to date and are all service records under your ownership since new supplied with the car?
In the event the buyer wants to revert the car to its stock form, how old are the tires on the original wheels?
The car also looks to be lowered, is it just on lowering springs or coilovers?
Are the originals also included in the sale?
Thanks and GLWS!
Bid in the amount of $250
@Bay22 The original window sticker was lost, but I did include a digital image of the window sticker in the photos. As for the BBE Triflo exhaust I'm not sure what they are offering now but when I put it on in 2009 the E90 definitely was offered, and the fitment is great. I literally listened to hours of videos on a multitude of companies making cat back exhausts for the car and the BBE was by far the best sounding on that engine, it truly sounds deep and exotic and not raspy like some can be. I would make the same choice today if putting an exhaust on this model M3!
Nice E90. Do you have the original window sticker available?
Also, it appears that B&B exhaust is for an E92 M3 and not an E90. They are slightly longer for the E92/E93 cars and stick out farther on the E90s. Looking at B&B's website it appears they do not even make an E90 version.
