Constructed by Trailex Aluminum Trailers, the 2008 Trailex CTE-80180 is an 18-foot aluminum enclosed car trailer built for lightweight durability and effortless towing. Its fully enclosed design features ramps stored beneath the trailer easy loading and unloading, along with lightweight aluminum construction built to resist corrosion. An aerodynamic profile enhances towing efficiency, and tandem axles with electric brakes provide stable handling and secure transport. Between events, the trailer has been stored in a fully enclosed garage within a storage facility. This one-owner trailer is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.
The exterior features smooth aluminum panels finished in white, accented by Porsche crest decals on the sides and rear, Porsche silhouette graphics on the sides, and Porsche Club Racing decals. Its aerodynamic design enhances fuel efficiency when towed. A full-width rear ramp door allows for easy loading and unloading, while a side access door adds convenience. Equipment includes integrated LED lighting, tandem axles, and aluminum wheels fitted with Goodyear Endurance tires from 2023 and 2024. A second spare wheel, a steel wheel with a Carlisle tire dated 2020, is included in the sale. Protective film was applied to the front of the trailer on April 7, 2008. The seller notes minor dents, scratches, and normal wear, with the leading and trailing edges of the fender flares slightly bent. Additionally, annual brake and wheel bearing services have been performed, along with the replacement of the tongue jack and break-away system. Service records will also accompany the sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The aluminum floor and walls provide a durable, lightweight structure, while integrated tie-down points keep vehicles securely in place during transit. Interior lighting improves visibility, making loading and unloading easier in low-light conditions. A built-in tire rack offers additional storage for spare tires, and wall-mounted cabinets provide space for tools and equipment. Modifications include various Pit Pal products, such as a 4-fuel jug rack, electric cord bracket, air hose bracket, shelf with roll towel holder, 2 tie-down hangers, 2 universal hangers, push broom holder, floor jack pouch, and umbrella holster. Inside the cabinet in the nose, there are 3 Pit Pal holders for oil bottles and aerosol cans. Ceiling-mounted brackets are included for holding Race Ramps. The seller notes some floor marks from tie-down ratchets and minor dents on the inside of the front doors.
This sale will include a clean title, a spare tire, sales literature, and service records. Also included are Race Ramps, aluminum ramp extensions, a push broom, a fire extinguisher, an under-trailer ramp lock, four fuel jugs with a funnel, and an assortment of Mac's tie-downs.

@Leigh2 I could continue to store the trailer at your cost. The storage garage cost is $345 per month. Insurance would also be your responsibility. I intend to cancel my insurance upon receipt of payment and assignment of title.
Is there someplace nearby where it could be stored until May?

@Racer_eX Sorry, I overlooked your message yesterday, but just replied,
@cwirken It was sent as a message, not a comment. Question was how soon would it need to be picked up by the buyer?
@Racer_eX I see a bid by you yesterday, but not a question. Please ask again.
@Dcaldera Overall length is 22' 6". All dimensions are shown in photo no. 54.
What is the overall length?
Bid in the amount of $10,981
@cwirken sent you a question yesterday.
i like round numbers, but the bids using Porsche model numbers are creative fun.
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Please note that my comment was in no way meant to demean the seller , the trailer or this platform. I am seriously in the market & wanted to confirm the “all in cost”. I was surprised by the differing category fees.
I was curious about the buyers premium. Thought it was 5% but nope; didn’t know there was a separate non- vehicle fee category:
“ Non-Vehicle – Should you win the auction; a 10% non-refundable buyer’s fee (USD) will be added to the total price as per the user agreement. The buyer's fee will be added to the winning bid.”
Cruised right past my budget. Unfortunately, the new to me Cayman ate up my extra dollars. But this is a beauty.
@cwirken I wish I had free time! I could send someone I guess!
@Smote911 This trailer tows so easily that a road trip on I-10 would be enjoyable.
I wish this was closer to South Georgia! Looks nice!
Good morning bidders. We are headed to the finish line that lies just hours ahead. I will be available throughout to answer your questions and respond to your comments. I hope that someone is a winner today. Good luck to all.

@wab_jr I have not experienced any leaks, even after towing in heavy rain. I took no photos of the roof. It is one piece of aluminum. When I return home today I will add a photo of the roof.
Any shots of the full roof & at the top corners? Any leaks- escape door, roof, rear, etc?

@bertsboat Thanks for the comments, all of which are quite right. The floor trunk is visible in photos nos. 44 and 46. I will add close up photos of the trunk open and closed. The adjustable wheel stops are visible in several of the photos, incluidng nos. 36, 38, 40, 43, 44, 45 and 46. Two sets of wheel stops of different heights are included. I used the lower set so that the nose of my race car would clear without taking off the splitter. The taller set is visible in photo no. 37 to the right of the tie down straps.
Bid in the amount of $8,500
Trailex builds the lightest and best engineered sports car trailers. I have nearly the exact size and year. Last year I towed my 911 from FL to CA and back without issue. They tow like a dream. Three things that the seller did not note. One, the front wheel stops are adjustable. They slide back and forth so no worries you will drive too far into the trailer. Two, this trailer has a basement to hold items that you don’t need to get at when there is a car inside. You can’t open it while the car is inside but it holds a lot. Maybe the seller would add a picture. And third, the doors in the front are one of the best features. It allows you to tie the front of the car easily and safely and also allows you to check the security of the straps when you stop for for fuel or food to make sure the load is OK. Also a lot of room up where those doors are that other trailer don’t or do but you can’t easily get to. All in all these are the best trailers. These are expensive now. Upwards to 30K and a two tear wait if you can get one at all. They are built with extruded aluminum parts. There are no welds ( or very few if any) to break and parts can be had . If you have a use for a trailer like this you can’t go wrong and they hold their value and you don’t need a big truck to pull it. We use our VW Touareg.

@TPW Sorry, but I never took any photos showing how my cars fit in the trailer. In searching old photos I found two random photos of my most recent racecar in the trailer. I will add them to the gallery.
@Petertraphagen80 Yes, the trailer has been garaged since new. It barely fits in my home garage. And I've had more cars (4) than garage spaces (3).
Hello, by any chance, do you have any pics with your Porsche loaded inside?... Perhaps showing clearance in front area
The rig appears to be kept well.
Has it been garage ed since new?
thx

@jparish Interior height is 4' 11".
Can you measure the floor-to-ceiling height?
@cwirken I previously owned one similar to yours and really liked it! Good luck selling this beauty!
Bid in the amount of $5,250
@Metzmart Good catch. As you observed, the listing description refers to "a rear ramp door for easy loading and unloading." It is more accurate to say that loading is done using the ramps stored beneath the trailer, as shown in photos nos. 17-18. Thanks. I'll suggest a revision to the folks at PCarMarket.
@bcurtis32 The width between the wheel wells (inside the trailer) is 80". The interior width (wall to wall) is 94".
@Upshift4 Graphics and decals are vinyl and can be pulled off. Applying a spray on adhesive remover could be helpful.
@Upshift4 Graphics and decals are vinyl and can be pulled off. Applyin
Listing states rear ramp door for easy loading. Rear ramps stored below the trailer deck for loading is more accurate.
How wide is the distance between the wheel wells; and how wide is the distance between the inside walls above the wheel wells? Can you please show with a tape measure?
How easy to remove graphics? i don't like to advertise that there's is a porsche in the trailer, but that's just me. a heat gun and some patience?
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@motus The trailer uses a standard round 7-way connector - 6 arranged circularly and one in the center. The plug is shown in photo # 33 where the cable is laying across the tongue.
Does this trailer use a standard pin connector? Please post a pic of your existing setup.

@epoe62 The manufacturer's spec sheet says that the height from floor to bottom of awning door opening is 8 5/8". My measurement confirms it is within 8 3/4". I will try to upload a photo.
@epoe62 I will travel to the storage garage and get an actual measurement of the height from the trailer floor to the bottom of the access door opening. Meanwhile, I can tell you that the driver's door of my street GT3, GT3 Cup, Cayman R, Cayman GT4 Clubsport, and an RS America all opened within the access door opening. Photos of other vehicles with their doors open in the access opening can be viewed on the trailex.com website.
@ApogeeOfFrisson Quoting from the manufacturer's spec sheet:
GVWR: 7000#
GAWR: 3500 LBS EACH AXLE
CARRYING CAPACITY: 4700 LBS
The empty trailer weighs about 2,000 pounds My typical loaded weight as measured at a truck scale was 6,020 pounds (including car with fuel, 20 gallons of fuel in jugs, 4 tires and wheels on tire rack, tool box, spare brake rotors and pads, spare trailer wheel/tire, etc.)
How much clearance is there on the escape door for car door to open
Bid in the amount of $4,250
Bid in the amount of $4,000
A picture of the weight placard would be useful if you have a chance.
Looks great!
