One of the rarest and most unique variants of the Porsche 997, the Targa model was offered exclusively in all-wheel-drive configuration and features a sophisticated sliding glass roof system with an opening rear hatch window. This 2008 example is a Targa 4S finished in Black over Terracotta leather upholstery. It comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a 3.8-liter flat-six engine, the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sport Exhaust System, Adaptive Sport Seats, stainless-steel door entry guards, instrument dials in Carrara White, Porsche-crested headrests, BOSE High-End Sound Package, and more. Delivered new by Porsche Monterey at an original sticker price of over $118k, this Targa 4S was purchased by the seller on PCARMARKET in 2021 and is now being offered for auction out of Ohio with approximately 54k miles showing on the odometer.

Finished in Black, this 997 is distinguished as a Targa model by the chrome accent along its roofline, a large sliding glass roof panel, an electric interior sunshade, and an opening rear hatch window. Other details include bi-xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, an optional rear window wiper, a speed-activated rear spoiler, quad exhaust outlets, and red brake calipers mounted behind aftermarket 19” wheels. The car rides on Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires from 2022 and the seller notes one small ding below the driver’s side taillight. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, this Targa 4S is appointed with Terracotta leather upholstery including optional heated Adaptive Sport Seats with Porsche crested headrests and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Other accessories include self-dimming mirrors, the Parking Assist System, the BOSE High-End Sound Package, instrument dials in Carrara White, automatic climate control, cruise control, a fire extinguisher, and an aftermarket Alpine touchscreen head unit.

Rated at 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine sends power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus and Sport Exhaust System. The seller states the car recently underwent an inspection and oil change.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, tools, an air pump, a car cover, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Though it's being sold through my auto dealership, it has been my personal driver for 3 years. It has been meticulously cared for. Stored in a climate-controlled garage. There are zero issues with the car. No stories. Originally a California car.”

    Great auction. I have an 07 Targa 4S in Dark Olive w/ sand beige . The car sold here has a few more upgrades that make me a bit envious. Great car - I always get lots of questions about it. The glass roof is fantastic. Best of luck - this is a great car. @flared_fenders - you're going to love this spec. Well done info exchange to the seller.

    @Gmschmidt Hello,
    I believe my mechanic includes an oil analysis with his oil change. I just messaged him to get 100 confirmation. I know if anything was out of line he would make sure it was addressed. The car runs great!!!!! I just attached the oil change receipt to photos. Before I listed the car my mechanic stated that if anyone has any questions on the car he would be happy to discuss it with them. His number is on the reciept in the photos. Thank you for the questions I hope that helps..

    @Gmschmidt I’m no expert but I believe if bad it would’ve shown a puff of smoke during the cold start video. But yeh oil analysis would be nice to see

  • Gmschmidt (registered bidder) 3 months, 2 weeksago

    Hey there - great looking 997! Curious about the potential bore scoring issues we hear so much about. Has scoping been done or oil analysis? Thanks

    @flared_fenders In reference to the wet boot on front drivers side boot. I did not even notice it when photographer took the pics. There are no spots on my garage floor ever. It is a finished floor so it would definatly show. I just sent pics to my mechanic. He said it is a cracked Boot and he said it was not like that the last time he looked at it. It is aready scheduled to be fixed next week. $498.00 plus tax. I apologize I would have never posted it with a part that needs fixed

  • GT4Driver (registered bidder) 3 months, 2 weeksago

    @flared_fenders Just noticed that too, looks like something potentially dripped down onto the inside of the wheel in pic 84. Could be wrong though?

    @997.2seeker Hello
    I wanted to clarify The Glass. I thought you were asking if it was oem glass on the power roof and hatch. I apologize. The windshield had a small chip in it and I could not take it. My mechanic had it replaced with his guys I think it is OEM but not sure It has the proper antenna in the glass. I forgot to address your clutch question. I called my Mechanic I use THE Garaj the owner is Uri. He is the top Porsche Mechanic in our area. I just spoke to him about it. He said if the clutch feels good to him he does not go any further in checking it.
    I hope that answers all your questions. Thank you for your time

    Can I ask about photos 83 and 84, is one of the boots torn or leaking, one seems quite a bit more damp/greasy than the other. @seller, can you comment?

    @997.2seeker Hello,
    I added the information You requested. I also have 2 keys. Please review my videos. As you can see the blemish is not really a ding. It is a slight blemish that is very hard to see

    @waveroamer Hello,
    Squeeks ... The car is very tight. You may heard a little if your on a bad road. Where I live we have really nice roads so there is not any noticeable sqeeking.

    Great spec on this gorgeous Targa 4S. IMO, the coolest driving experience of all 997s. See the world through your glass-top wonder as you enjoy a true 911. Heat, cold, rain (God forbid), day, or night with top open or closed in climate controlled luxury. That back hatch is sure handy and turns many heads at the car meets... GLWTS

    Noise of the sunroof top during bumps or over speed bumps? These glass tops are notorious for squeaky tops and lots of forum hacks to reduce them. But curious if this example has any squeaks.

  • micah4a (seller) 3 months, 3 weeksago

    @997.2seeker Hello,
    I will try to add a cold start video and other videos you have requested. I believe all the glass is original. The Power top and rear hatch work great!!!!

    @Holmesjc3 Those are the wheels that came on the car when I puchased it. I do not know if they are HRE . I think HRE have an etching on them but I am not sure. I can look the wheels over and see if I can find any etching

    Nicely optioned car. Which glass is not original and was it replaced with Porsche glass? Does it have 2 keys, was the clutch/flywheel ever serviced that you know of, does the targa roof and the rear hatch operate without any issues, is the title in your name, could you add a cold start video and a roof operating video and close up of ding under taillight? Thanks glwa.
