Up for auction is this no expense spared 2008 Porsche 987 Cayman S race car finished in black with a custom yellow and white racing livery. Equipped with a custom-built race-spec 3.4 L engine, exterior modifications and a full racing interior, this 987 was purchased by the seller at Munich Motorsports last year with over $175k invested in upgrades. Certified for several racing series including ITC, PCA, NASA, historic events and the Stuttgart Cup, this highly competitive Cayman S is ready for a new owner with approximately 15 hours of use on the rebuilt engine.
This Cayman S was taken down to its bare frame before being reassembled as a racecar and refinished in its factory color of black with a custom racing livery. A branded title was previously issued, and the seller has confirmed the exterior finish to remain in great condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Noteworthy details include an ITC spec carbon fiber front splitter and adjustable rear wing, metal fenders and a Lexan windshield as well as a hatch replacement with braces. The 987 rides on 18” Forgeline GA3R wheels which come dressed in new Hoosier R7 tires. The winning bidder will have an option to choose between either white or black wheels.

Power comes from a fully blueprinted and balanced custom race-spec 3.4 L engine by Bodymotion. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with a Guard 50/50 Pro billet differential, a lightweight flywheel and puck clutch disc as well as a differential cooler with an auxiliary pump and fan. The weight is 3011 lbs. It is set up to add weight in the passenger as needed for the class you run in..
The tires that are on the car are Hoosier R7 with only two DE day heat cycles. The second set that is not included have a set of Hoosiers R7 with stickers on them. I was planning on keeping the second set to use on my street Cayman for an occasional DE Track Day.
I will consider selling them to the successful bidder for an additional $3k but not to anyone else separately
Can you tell me what it weighs dry? Also is there is reason it does not come with both sets of wheels?
