Available for auction is this 2008 Porsche Cayenne GTS finished in Black over a matching leather and Alcantara interior. The Cayenne was introduced in 2002 as Porsche’s first four-door vehicle. The GTS approaches the top of the model line, succeeding the Cayenne S with its Sport Suspension, 21” wheels, aerodynamic body kit, and sport-focused engine tuning. This example features a rare 6-speed manual transmission, an optional trailer hitch, Variable Assist Power Steering, Bi-Xenon headlights with washers, adjustable suspension, and an enlarged rear spoiler. Garage-kept by its second and current owner in California, this sought-after 6-speed Cayenne is now being offered for auction with approximately 55k miles on the odometer.

The exterior is finished in Black and suited with a GTS-specific aerodynamic body kit including a Turbo-style front fascia, side skirt extensions, and a body-colored rear valance. This example showcases optional Bi-Xenon headlights as well as an enlarged rear spoiler. A set of 22” Rinspeed wheels are mounted with Toyo Proxes tires and complimented by red brake calipers. The car has been garage kept and the seller notes minor cosmetic damages to the front bumper including a small indentation. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black leather and Alcantara interior features optional heated front seats and steering wheel, the Light Comfort Package, a moonroof, Bose Surround Sound System, and Porsche Communication Management. An aftermarket stereo head unit and backup camera have been installed, and the seller states that the original head unit will accompany the sale.

The first-generation Cayenne GTS is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 engine producing up to 405 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque. This example features a rarely seen 6-speed manual transmission sending power to all four wheels. Compared to a standard Cayenne S, the GTS model offers a lowered ride height, sport-tuned adjustable suspension, a shorter final drive ratio, and a larger intake manifold for increased power. This example was also optioned with Variable Assist Power Steering for improved maneuverability. The seller notes that routine service has been carried out during their ownership and all available maintenance records are provided in the CARFAX report.

This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.

@RipCity Hi, Never had any problems with operating temperature on this Cayenne, always has ran cool. Cayenne had 21s so 22s fit with no problems. No PDCC as pictured.

@seller. Russell, it’s a special car and I’m interested here in the last hour. IMO your point about being garaged is important, since age is a bummer on the rubber trim, lights, etc., etc. and you’ve done the best possible, there. To me, that would offset some other factors that, speaking only for me, would need attention and impact my own bid appetite (cardan and the single plastic pipe, wheels, etc.). Sounds like we’ve had an experienced clutch driver babying her so less concern there. As a 955 S owner my findings were that it’s important to be proactive with these machines and those things do amount to some money but you are bringing the “good bones” which is oh-so-much-better than a worn-out car.
Purely as factual matters, not to detract at all since I have already said I like the car, a couple of final questions:
    * I spent about an hour with the list of codes the other night. I don’t see the code for Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and, curiously, for the 957 refresh. Can you say what you know about these? I’m concluding it simply doesn’t have PDCC and the omission of the 957 code, well, may be just nothing at all.
    * Were there any alternations to the setup to accommodate the 22s?
Again, simply seeking the facts in good faith and acknowledging the glorious merits with no intent to detract at all. Thank you VERY much for your answers.

@Aberas2529 Yes thank you for your kind comment, it is a special vehicle. The 2008 4.8 is upgraded in many ways over the 4.5. Single coolant pipe being 1 of those and the cardon shaft had a revised stronger bearing. This Cayenne has never spent a night outside the garage in the 12 years of ownership. All weatherstripping is as good as you will find on a 2008 vehicle of any kind. Door rubbers are soft and supple with no rips or tears. The seats are in excellent condition thru out. Carpets have minimal wear. This has been driven by a Lady Porsche enthusiast who has owned may Porsches over the years including turbos.
Bid with confidence as you will find it very difficult to find a Cayenne GTS 6-speed with these miles and in this condition.
    Regards Morris0906

  • Aberas2529 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

The first ever Cayenne 6MT sold on here was my old base model manual Cayenne. I loved that car so much. I sold it to make space for a 1988 air-cooled 911 and it was the perfect timing for the upgrade! I’m head over heels with the 911, but the Cayenne manual will always have a special place in my heart. Such a satisfying vehicle! GTS would be the way to go when I come back to a Cayenne!… one question about this car: were the crossover coolant pipes converted to the metal ones?

  • Morris0906 (seller) 2 yearsago

I just listed a 1 minute video of Cayenne going thru gears. Pcarmarket should link it by tomorrow. Regards Morris0906

  • RipCity (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Thank you, will check back for the rest.
Yup, you never know. I have a set of 19" turbo wheels, an upgrade on my 04 Cayenne S that I replaced with aftermarket. So, you COULD have 4 boxes in your garage, like me. Yours were better, I agree. Mine are worth something...so I got THAT goin for me. Maybe you already got the benefit without the storage? Genius!

  • Morris0906 (seller) 2 yearsago

@RipCity I will answer what I can at this time and complete the rest over the next day or so.
The Cayenne arrived in California with 5000 odd miles so maybe the Cardan shaft was replaced before then. No record of any warranty before ownership. Cayenne has been a very good car thats only needed service.
Rear brakes are roughly 40%. Engine mounts are original and good. Everything works as it should so no surprises. Pixels are good. Clutch is good per mechanic. Hatch opens correctly and stays up. Original timing chain. No warnings from mechanic regarding cooling pipe or leaks.
Original wheels were sold or given away years ago as not planning to be put back on car and were taking up space. A mistake but what's done is done.
I will have a video of Cayenne being driven tomorrow at some point, and original head unit.

    Regards Morris0906 :)

@Morris0906 Russell, thanks for updating thus far. Congrats, since the indentation is ALMOST perfectly centered, like it was designed in…haha.
I’m looking to participate once condition is better understood. Please help with the following to allow me to bid confidently. In advance, THANK YOU for your detailed replies and knowing how important these can be to future repair needs and risk with a 15 year old machine. I appreciate you, your auto taste, and your understanding that these details are important. The posted records are very helpful, thank you, but seem likely to be partial given the various work that is likely have to have been done along the way. Some were likely warranty/recall items (like cardan shaft, etc.). So, just seeking clarity and TRULY appreciate you.
    * I saw “serviced and all good” note. Is there anything that does NOT work?
    * Are all struts for hatch and hood strong?
    * Any pixel issues in cluster?
    * You must have had the driveshaft (Cardan) replaced back when they were a focus, isn’t that right? Will you kindly confirm and provide the record?
    * When the shop looked it over, had they removed the manifold and looked for the known pipe issues, such as the “backing out” of the housing and such? Any other history with proactive upgrades to these known issues or any of the other “not if but when” topics on the 957s?
    * Please confirm…i saw the front brakes in 2021 but rear brakes presumably not yet needed and not done then or since then?
    * engine mounts (bushing-esque) - have they been replaced during your ownership?
    * Please upload picture of original head unit you are including.
    * Was there an incident that lead to loss of the original GTS wheels?
    * Please post a driving video with all gears demonstrated.
    * Any recommendations from the shop about the clutch? What’s your rating of clutch operation, scale of 1-10 please? Presumably original clutch?
    * Timing chain been replaced ever?

Again, big thanks. Details matter and my questions are absolutely asked in respectful spirit.
    Best, Ripcity

  • CayenneGTS6MT (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

I sold my ‘09 Cayenne GTS with the manual transmission on here 11 months ago (first one on Pcar). These vehicles are so great that I sold my BMW E39 M5 after acquiring the GTS 6MT. More practical with AWD and the performance and smiles per mile were in the same ball park. I will own another one when I have the space for it.

@ Morris0906 Thx for the quick response..how long have you owned the GTS, and by chance do you a Carfax on the car?

  • Morris0906 (seller) 2 yearsago

@356rehab This Cayenne has been professionally detailed thru out its life on a regular basis. Deep shine very minimal light scratches that take some finding. All original paint, 8-9 on paint condition. No dings just a slight indentation on front bumper cover caused by bumping into something whilst parking . Didn't even realize it had been done until detailer commented. Regards Russell

  • 356rehab (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@Morris0906 can you comment on the condition of the paint- 1-10? Any scratches, dings or any paint work in the car?

@RipCity 2008 4.8 liter is single coolant pipe. Original wheels are not with car. Tires are about 50% with no cracking. Car has always been garaged. Tires are 8 years old. Either replace or drive as is. I am just posting service records. Regards Russell

  • RipCity (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

    Hi @Morris0906 !
To you and community:. Porsche changed from plastic to metal pipes, forever curing the known, costly cayenne issue. However, I can't recall the year. Are you saying this 2008 has no plastic pipes and was replaced with a single metal pipe? Anyone recall the year ..whether this 2008 had the plastic pipes in 2008?
    * Are original 21 inch GTS wheels included with sale? * Do you have records to show most recent rotor and pad replacement? * MM left on each of those 22s?
    * Can you post recent service records in general?
    Thank you for your replies!!

  • Morris0906 (seller) 2 yearsago

@artichoke Theres only 1 pipe on the 2008 which is still the original. No leaks from cooling system. Cayenne was serviced and checked by local independent Porsche repair shop prior to listing. Everything is good and ready to go!

  • artichoke (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Have the plastic crossover tubes been replaced? Any leaks with the radiator system at the manifold?

  • Morris0906 (seller) 2 yearsago

Any questions don't hesitate to ask. Regards Russell
