Up for auction at no reserve is this 2008 Porsche 987 Boxster S RS 60 Spyder finished in GT Silver Metallic over a Carrera Red Natural Leather interior.  Recalling Porsche’s iconic open-top race car that took victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring and Targa Florio in 1960, the Boxster S RS 60 Spyder Edition was produced in a limited series of 1,960 examples worldwide, of which approximately 800 were delivered in the United States.  This special edition model comes standard in a classic silver-over-red color combination and features 19” SportDesign wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the Sport Exhaust System, and unique styling cues.  This particular example also came with a 6-speed manual gearbox, heated front seats, automatic climate control, the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, and PCM 2.1 with extended navigation.  Sold new in New York before making its way to South Carolina, this RS 60 Spyder Edition has been consistently maintained under the care of two owners and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee while showing approximately 105k miles on the odometer.

Finished in GT Silver Metallic, this special edition can be identified by its SportDesign front fascia, black-framed windscreen, red taillight lenses, and 19” SportDesign wheels.  Signs of road-going wear are depicted on the hood and front bumper and the seller notes a small ding on the windshield frame and rear quarter panel, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  The rear tires are brand new, and the front tires are said to have been replaced within the last 10k miles.

Inside, this Boxster S showcases a Carrera Red Natural Leather interior with a special exposed instrument cluster, seatbelts in silver, stainless-steel door sills with RS 60 Spyder designations, and a serialized plaque on the glovebox displaying the car’s induvial production number of 250/1960.  Other options include heated front seats, automatic climate control, self-dimming mirrors with an integrated rain sensor, a storage box on the engine cover, PCM 2.1 with extended navigation, and the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package.  A Rennline fire extinguisher has been installed along with an integrated K40 radar detector with a display mounted atop the steering column and a remote located in the ashtray.  Some wear is noted on the driver seat bolster and radio control knobs as well as slight discoloration of the carpets.  The convertible top cables are stretched, although the seller states this does not affect the operation of the top.  The tire pressure warning light is also said to come on intermittently.

Power comes from a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 3.4 L flat-six engine.  The RS 60 Edition features a specially tuned Sport Exhaust System which helps generate up to 303 HP, compared to a standard Boxster S output of 295 HP.  The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission that allows acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds.  Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and wheel spacers are also standard on this special edition.  A major service was carried out in the last 10k miles including new shifter cables, a new water pump, a new battery, and front tires.  Within the last 100 miles, another service was performed including an oil and filter change, new cabin and engine air filters, new front brakes, and rear tires.
