Celebrating Porsche’s RS 60 Spyder race car and Hans Herrmann’s legendary win at the 1960 12 Hours of Sebring, the Boxster RS 60 Spyder is a special edition Boxster S limited to 1,960 examples for the 2008 model year. It features GT Silver Metallic paint, Carrera Red Natural Leather upholstery, a SportDesign front fascia, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a painted center console, silver seatbelts, RS 60 logo door sills, 19” SportDesign wheels, and a 303-horsepower 3.4-liter flat-six engine. This example, #1,265, is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, heated Sport Seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package. Benefitting from a new clutch, flywheel, and rear main seal in 2024, this Boxster RS 60 Spyder is now being offered for auction out of Arizona with approximately 73k miles on the odometer.
Finished in GT Silver Metallic, the Boxster RS 60 Spyder is distinguished by a SportDesign front fascia, a black-framed windscreen, red taillight lenses, and 19” SportDesign wheels. This example is equipped with a black convertible top, bi-xenon headlamps, dual exhaust tips, side air intakes, red brake calipers, a removable wind deflector, and dual silver roll bars. The wheels are fitted with 5mm spacers from the factory and come dressed in Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires. The seller notes an exterior paint correction and ceramic coating were performed under their ownership along with the application of Ceramic Pro Nano window tint to all glass. The CARFAX shows moderate to severe damage reported to the left and left rear end in 2016 and the seller states the rear body panels have been refinished. Some scrapes are noted on the front passenger side bumper as well as two chips on the driver's side quarter panel and several chips on the hood and front bumper.
The cabin is appointed with Carrera Red Natural Leather upholstery including heated Sport Seats and a three-spoke Sport steering wheel. Unique features include a hoodless instrument cluster, a GT Silver Metallic painted center console, silver seatbelts, RS 60 Spyder logo door sills in stainless steel, and a serialized limitation plaque mounted on the glovebox door. The car is also equipped with automatic climate control, cruise control, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and a CD stereo. Some wear is noted on the steering wheel, a cup holder clip is broken, and the inner driver's door latch does not retract consistently.
The Boxster RS 60 Spyder features a sport exhaust system that enables the naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine to produce up to 303 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission delivers power to the rear wheels. Standard equipment includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and cross-drilled disc brakes with fixed 4-piston calipers at each corner. The clutch, flywheel, and rear main seal are said to have been replaced in 2024.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "Nice example of a 2008 RS60. Good driver, tracks properly and has good mechanics. The owner was happy with the car and added some servicing, ceramic coating, and window tint but decided it was too small for daily driving in Phoenix metro traffic congestion."

Short driving video. As noted below I wanted to add some additional details that the BaT auction didn’t cover. The water pump and shocks. To be clear the water pump is not leaking but noted as likely original. This is a great driver and can be enjoyed just the way it is. Date codes are noted on the tires but there is no dry cracking on the rubber and the tread is wearing evenly. The current owner added the professional paint correction and ceramic paint coating. Nano ceramic window film was also applied to all glass including windshield. Tint level should be legal for most all states. I’m available to show the car today and get any last minute pictures. Good luck

If this works there is a short driving video to follow.
Thank you for the questions. I plan to stop over in the am and get a cold start video and a short drive. I have notes from the inspection let me review them and I will report back. This car does have a prior listing on BaT with details there as well.

@Quattro_RS Thank you. Would you be able to share the inspection results sheet?
Good morning everyone. Thanks for viewing this RS60 auction. As the seller notes above, I am conducting this sale for a client. Local physician who had plans for light daily driving. He determined after a few months the RS60 may be too small for this purpose. Vehicle inspection was completed and a couple of minor items were recommended for future attention. The water pump and thermostat appear to be original and recommend to service in the future. The shocks/struts are beginning to weep. They also look original. Great driving RS60 and the driveline performs as it should. Iam planning a cold start and driving video early this week.
