Finished in Macadamia Metallic with a Cocoa soft top over Sand Beige interior upholstery, this 2008 Porsche 987 Boxster pairs a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission with its naturally aspirated flat-six engine. It was further optioned with 18” Cayman S wheels with body-colored accents, the Sound Package Plus, heated front seats, and more. Showing less than 152k miles on the odometer, this Boxster is now being offered for auction by its seller and long-term PCA member out of Colorado.
This 987 was factory-specified in Macadamia Metallic with a Cocoa soft top and features optional 18" Cayman S wheels with body-colored contrasts. Equipment includes fog lights, headlight washers, silver-painted side air intake grilles, a centrally mounted exhaust, and colored Porsche-crested wheel center caps. The car rides on Yokohama and Nokian tires from 2017 and 2019. The front bumper and hood were refinished in May 2025 due to road wear, the windsheild has been replaced, and minor imperfections consistent with age are noted. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted with Sand Beige standard leather. Options include heated front seats, a Porsche wind deflector, the Sound Package Plus, an engine cover-mounted storage box, and interior-colored floormats. The seller notes the TPMS warning is currently illuminated.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.7-liter flat-six engine factory-rated at 245 HP and 201 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Service items noted by the seller include an oil service and inspection, replacement of the water pump, drive belt, thermostat, and coolant, and front brake pads & rotors, along with a brake fluid flush, replacement of the convertible top motor gears, and installation of new front CV boots.
This sale will include a clean title (lien).
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my PCARMARKET auction. I’ll do my best to answer any questions promptly. This has been my wife’s car for the past 2 years and 6 months. Service is up to date. While not a garage queen, it’s been regularly enjoyed and may need some TLC down the road.”

Congrats gpmotors on this steal !
I am just of the opinion having dealers bid on these cars is not fair.
Thanks.
Sold for $10,000
@gpmotors good deal on this one! Congrats.

Bid in the amount of $6,500
@Rockymtn911 I get it and don't blame you. I was just telling others what I learned. I know with BaT and Cars and Bids it's a violation of their terms of use to have cars advertised for sale in multiple venues at the same time. I don't believe that's what you are doing, as the C&B auction happened months ago and the ad in the PCA magazine was probably submitted a while ago too. Yes, I could have gone and inspected the car too. I probably should have - my schedule did not allow for it (nor would my significant other).
@campodf Fyia lot of sellers on this platform have advertised on other sites as well. If your not comfortable then don't bid.you.could have inspected the car before hand if local.

And just so all the community here knows the info I have gathered, I've seen this car for sale on several platforms. It "sold" on cars and bids in May but as far as I can tell the buyer flaked as they are no longer on the site (i.e. banned). Either that or they didn't ever really exist in the first place... I don't know, and I can't really understand the answers given below by the seller. I don't really want to speculate further. This has also been up on Craigslist as well as I just saw this on the Rocky Mountain Region PCA classifieds. Clearly, the seller wants this sold. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I really am uncomfortable with the lien situation.
@cdoggyd - My experience on the auction sites is that they operate as a connector between two private parties. It's like a handshake deal, not a real contract. You should see the stories people tell of both buyers and sellers flaking out on both of the "large" auction sites. There are not severe repercussions other than forfeiting your buyer's fee (for a buyer that flakes) or your listing fee (for a seller) and then being "banned" on the site. The thing is, all you need is a new email address to no longer be banned.
At the end of the day, these auctions are about trust between the buyer and seller. The transaction is done privately.
@tommeron It's my understanding that the auction is almost like a binding contract. I don't think the seller can refuse to complete the transaction because the winning bid was too low. The seller knew the risk when using the no reserve option.
In previous comments the seller has indicated they want the winner of the auction to wire their bank/credit union whatever the auction proceeds are and then they would pay the difference if it is less than the balance of their loan. It seems a bit odd to be honest and puts the winner of the auction at some risk that the seller here won't foot the bill for the balance of the loan and therefore the title will not end up with the buyer. Too much trust in a stranger for my spidey senses. Not sure why they would not just pay off the bank before selling - this car is not worth a whole lot given its miles and tiptronic trans. That's their prerogative but it makes me nervous.
What I'd prefer doing is using an escrow service since the title is not physically in possession of the seller. I've heard good things about KeySavvy and there are others out there with less than stellar reputations.
Please tell me what the wait time would be between end of auction and delivery of the vehicle, and approx how much delivery would cost.
Bid in the amount of $3,000
@tommeron either the seller will have to pay the difference or they don't complete the sale and keep the car until they can pay it off.
Bid in the amount of $2,750
Anyone know what happens if the high bid doesn't surpass the loan amount?
looking @ moving end of year. Too many vehicles plus the cayman.
@Rockymtn911 Hi seller. Just wanted to know if there’s any particular reason you are selling this car? She’s gorgeous for sure.
Hi folks
Coming down to the final hours for bidding on a sweet ride.
Good luck to the winning bidder.
@GearSuper Approx 12k
@Rockymtn911 Have a copy of the PPI? Open to using escrow service for payment since you have a lien on it?
Buyer needed a PPI after the sale
No problem. Time element we both decided to cancel.
@Acd683 yes I saw this too. I’d want more info about why the sale fell through before I bid again. I’m not satisfied with the answers we’ve gotten thus far.
It looks also like this was liked no reserve/sold on cars and bids 2 months ago and you’re selling a second time? You may want to provide details as to why that transaction didn’t go through.

@Rockymtn911 Lien release 2days after funds paid.
Title approx 2 weeks
How much is the lien on the car?
Buyer had issues long story
@seller I see you sold this car on cars and bids back in May. What happened?
Bid in the amount of $2,500
@Acd683 wire transfer on balance of loan to my bank. Any difference overage to me on wire transfer.
Thanks
Honestly, I did read your previous comment. It’s not even in complete sentences.
“ transaction for loan payoff
Wire transfer. Title transfer”
Wire transfer - to whom? To you? To your bank?
They say “buy the seller.” Well, you’ve made this one easy. Good luck.
Done through one transaction
Read previous inquiry.
Is there an escrow or third party service that will facilitate the transaction? I love the spec, but a no-reserve auction where there’s a lien on the vehicle is not appealing.
Drove to az & back in march over 1,800 mi no issues.
transaction for loan payoff
Wire transfer. Title transfer
Approx 10 days copy of transaction from my credit union.
Would you be comfortable driving this car 1,000 miles to Southern California or would it need to be shipped?
What’s the process on obtaining the title? Will you pay off the loan with funds from the auction? How long before you have title in hand from DMV?
Bid in the amount of $1,000
Bid in the amount of $500
Bid in the amount of $250
Okay just saw your previous comment so never mind
I assume the TPMS warning is just tire pressure, correct?
@campodf Thanks for ur interest. As far as the tpms light. Was going to replace when we got new tires. No ab issue about 80 bucks eBay.
Most likely would get tuneup next
Service. Change fluids trans etc.
160k per dealer
Patrick
What kind of TLC do you anticipate needing to be done in the next year or two? Are the tpms sensors just old and bad, thus the light being illuminated?
I’ve just started looking for a boxster as a fun car and this is a great spec. I love the color. I’m also semi local to you up in Denver.
I’m wondering what to expect in terms of expected repairs and maintenance going forward. Thanks!
