Up for auction is this low-mileage 2008 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet finished in the classic combination of Black over a full Black leather interior. Equipped with the legendary Mezger engine, this Turbo represents a prime example of what is so special about this generation 911. Since new, this example is said to have been family owned and maintained properly, driven just 24k miles to date. It is now being offered by its seller out of Virginia in great overall condition.
The classic Black finish on this Turbo is said to remain in great overall condition with some wear including a blemish on the rear passenger side quarter panel (detailed images are available in the photo gallery). As a Turbo variant, this example features a factory widebody with integrated air vents along with a set of factory 19” Turbo wheels that come wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires dated from 2017.
Upon entry, the driver is greeted by a full black leather interior that showcases desirable options such as aluminum-look hardback heated sports seats. An upgraded Sony head unit has been installed with all gauges and accessories stated to be working order including the factory black cabriolet top.
Powering this 997 is a 3.6L twin-turbocharged Mezger engine that delivers approximately 480 HP to all four wheels by way of a Tiptronic S automatic transmission. Originally developed for the 911 GT1 Le Mans car, the Mezger engine is regarded by many Porsche experts to be the ultimate water-cooled power plant. Furthermore, this engine does not suffer from IMS bearing related issues as its oil system ensures constant lubrication. The seller notes that all services have been completed at certified Porsche dealerships throughout its life. This example is currently up to date on maintenance with minimal miles driven since its last service.
The sale of this Turbo will include the original owner’s books and a set of two keys. Showcasing a highly sought-after Mezger flat-six engine as immaculate service records, this 997 Turbo represents an absolutely incredible value.

@911pirate the 997.1 turbo is a freaking awesome car with or without 3 pedals. It deals out torque like a Las Vegas night. As an owner of one it upsets me to see an auction go so poorly.
I was willing to take a risk...Early on I made a comment regarding poor representation.... However, This car sold for top dollar …. without additional information it got a price that the market would bare....I hope That Manny gets a great car and enjoys the heck out of it.... I love these cars as an owner I would take more concern than this person that was selling this vehicle
@Aiello11 CORRECT
There were a ton of unknowns on this car. These are built like tanks but still this was a scary presentation of a car. Owner mia. Pcar chiming in instead For how it presents i feel it went higher than it should have. Something bugs me about the way the motor looks and the intake filter looking almost like it’s falling apart. .
@PCARMARKET this car was poorly sorted out. Lots of questions very few responses. Maintenance records should be a part of the sellers not the potential bidders responsibility to find. If this car goes nowhere its a black eye for the 997 turbo market that it doesn’t deserve. The 997.1 turbo is an incredible car and “can represent an incredible value”. Just not this one. So in your results section there should be an asterisk. RNM or only bid to due to poor presentation. The price for a good 997.1 turbo cabriolet should not start with a 5.
Manny good luck 911 pirate

@PCARMARKET Thank you for your response on behalf of seller. Based on this then, the last service Completed was prior to return to US then, yes? Can seller share that date? Can seller also confirm that vehicle is in ‘great’ operating condition and needs no service or repair work that corresponds with listing statement of ‘great overall condition’?
@PCARMARKET seems like you have been in contact. Can you ask about vehicle condition this is kinda a shot in the dark apparently. Engine pics need some clarification. Was it power washed driven through water etc
@Aiello11 The seller is currently in travel and cannot access the vehicle for additional content at this time.
@dibfra On behalf of the seller: The vehicle was only ever used privately.
@Garrityi On behalf of the seller: The vehicle was serviced at a Porsche dealership in Dubai throughout those years. Service records can be acquired from the dealership files.
my thoughts are all jumbled today the air filter looks like it has been through hell and back as well almost like it has been completely soaked at one time. Can you please post a startup and running video @SamiGaber
something seems up. ive had many 911s and a turbo before ive never seen corrosion on the fittings before has this been driven through high levels of water ? can we get underside pics?
2nd on the maintenance done while overseas. also can you possibly get a quick paint meter the pictures don't help much
Is it me or has this seller not replied to any questions or request?
Was it used as a fleet car for the (8) eight years in Egypt?
Could you please provide an overview of the maintenance and possible repairs that were done when the vehicle was outside of the US from 2012 to 2020 in Egypt. Has there been a Porsche dealership service completed since its return to the US? Thank you.

Interested but as mentioned the pictures appear to have numerous chips and scratches and possibly even a dent in the quarter panel.

The pictures are great but... a great deal of glare/reflections that make it difficult to determine what are reflections vs which are small nicks, scratches or dents. Looking specifically the passenger side rear quarter panel... Also, the Mezger engine has a great reputation, especially relating to the IMS bearing issues, yet it has been replaced even if there was not an issue? I have 2 older 911 w/c models and I like this car and I am interested. Thank you
Great example. The 997 is the last analog feel in driving a Porsche. Nothing better than all the Turbo power except if you can drop the top and enjoy it in the open air. Great car, good luck. I have 997.1 TT can now or I would be bidding.
