Up for auction is this sought after 2008 Porsche 997 Turbo 6-speed finished in GT Silver Metallic over a Grey natural leather interior with deviated stitching. Marking the final generation of the Mezger-engine Turbo, this 997 commanded an original sticker price of over $160k which includes exclusive options like PCCB ceramic composite brakes, the Sport Chrono Package and extended leather details. With only 35k miles showing on the odometer, this 2-owner Turbo is now being offered by its seller in California in superb overall condition.
The GT Silver Metallic finish is said to be pristine (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Exterior details include wide fenders with rear side air intakes and an optional rear wiper as well as yellow PCCB ceramic brakes which are tucked behind factory Turbo wheels. The seller notes that new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires will be installed prior to delivery.
Inside, the driver is situated in a luxurious Grey natural leather interior with extended leather details and deviated stitching throughout the cabin. The interior is reported to be like-new and exclusive factory options include the following:
This 997 carries a highly regarded 3.6 L twin turbocharged Mezger engine which sends 480HP to all four wheels by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission. While achieving an impressive 0-60 time of approximately 3.7 seconds, this Turbo is brought to a halt by optional Porsche ceramic composite brakes (PCCB) which provide superior stopping power. A clean Carfax report shows regularly scheduled maintenance and the seller confirms this 2008 example to be in fantastic driving order.
The sale of the Turbo will include the original books and owner’s manuals, one master key and a clean title. This generously appointed 6-speed Mezger Turbo is a dream come true for many Porsche enthusiasts, do not let this opportunity pass you by.

Agree, and fingers crossed that this was a decent value! I had reassuring words re: the overruns from our friends on Rennlist and others, and spoke to the PPI folks as well. She's a beautiful, loaded car that went for ~ half her MSRP, but I invite your feedback ;-)
997.1 values keep creeping up, and for good reason. This is over $90k with fees for a $35k mile car. I think we will continue to see the gap between .1 and .2 Turbos narrow as people start to realized the Mezger engine is worth a larger premium than the lower production numbers of the .2.
Sold for $85,750
Good move not to place the DME report until late in the auction. Didn’t give enough time for all the DMEers to complain about the stage 5/6 over revs. Great looking car anyway

@Billymac dme report should be added shortly
Awesome car and love all the options. However, it's insane to me that someone spent $10k for all the leather trim options, but left out the single most important one; the center console. Not having the console in leather (or paint match to exterior), results in this piece constantly having the standard plasticky finish scratched off, as can be seen in the pictures.
Can seller provide the DME report that was requested previously. Thank you.
Can't speak for all dealers but we always provide a second key. I have bought two cars on here with 1 key. This is a retail/wholesale auction not an authorized dealer, nothing to get this worked up about. And that key programmed is about $400.
Hello PCM! A beauty. Can you provide the DME / over rev report?
@skisofast don't expect any of this from a dealer. Unfortunately they do not think like us. It's not always about the money. And yes this car should have had the 2nd key sourced by the dealer. That is just a nagging thing to have to take care of as a buyer when all you want to do is enjoy the car. I have had dealers provide the second or third key in the past or no deal. That said, beautiful 997 turbo. Good luck to both seller and high bidder. And please get that second key. #PorscheON!
@SBerastequi ......oh, I was referring to the seller...not any buyer. I have sold hundreds of cars and they are always “complete.” That is always 2 keys, a 3 ring binder with all records and the title in order and a full tank of gas!!
Bid in the amount of $80,000
Skisofast, thanks for your suggestion, these master keys are NOT cheap, $150-$200 and yes, I can afford it but with a quality car AND a quality dealership, this should Not be an issue nor should I have to afford it.
@PCM pretty much including a Porsche dealer!!
@skisofast LOL I assume anyone that can buy this car can afford a 2nd key.
My solution to keys going missing.....use the dog tag machine at Walmart and for $6 you get a great tag with anything you want on it that will result in the key finding its way home. It has worked for me in the past!
@SBerastequi The car was acquired with one key and is being sold with 1 key
@PCM With all due respect, if this automobile was a $20,000 Kia I could possibly understand the reticence in providing the normal 2 keys but the lack of an explanation as to why a dealership will not provide a second key to a Porsche Turbo speaks volumes to all of us.
@SBerastequi Vehicle comes with 1 key, owners manual, and the orginal msrp
With the seller being a dealership, why isn’t two master keys being provided?
Bid in the amount of $69,000
@SBerastequi Next oil service is due at 40k or by March 2021 . Front pads are at 70% rears are at 80%.
Front Rotors 85% rear rotors are at 95%
Has the 40,000 mile major service been done and what condition are the rotors? I assume the rear wing functions as it should? Thank you.

@c2silver I went to confirm. It is just a reflection in the photo
WOW!
@c2silver that seems to be a reflection from the interior lighting. Just my observation.
Picture 49, there appears to be a rip/worn spot in the driver side bolster.
Can you clarify?
