Now up for auction is this collector-grade 2008 Porsche 997 Turbo Coupe finished in Black over a black full leather interior. With its race-derived Mezger engine and 6-speed manual gearbox, this first-generation 997 Turbo is among the most desirable Porsche’s of the modern era. At an original sticker price of over $133k, this particular example was factory optioned with a limited-slip differential, Adaptive Sport Seats with crested headrests, painted rocker panels, and the Sport Chrono Package Turbo. Currently showing just over 12k-miles on the odometer, this 997 Turbo is being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
This Turbo is finished in Black, and clear paint protection film has applied over the full exterior within the last year. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings. This particular example features factory-painted lower rocker panels and 19” 911 Turbo II wheels that were recently equipped by the seller. The original set of 911 Turbo wheels will accompany the sale as well.
Inside, this Turbo is appointed with a premium black full leather interior featuring Adaptive Sport Seats, Porsche crested headrests, and a thicker leather steering wheel. The driver is also supplied with optional heated front seats and a rear window wiper. The cabin retains all of its factory specifications and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
This first-generation 997 Turbo is among the last of the 911s to have been equipped with a legendary Mezger engine. The 3.6L twin-turbocharged power plant in this example generates up to 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to all four wheels through a sought-after 6-speed manual gearbox. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 3.7 seconds with a top speed north of 190 MPH. An oil service has been carried recently and all other available maintenance history is provided on CARFAX. A DME report is posted for reference in the photo gallery.
This sale will include a set of two keys and a clean title. A true collector-grade example with just over 12k miles traveled from new, this 997 Turbo 6-speed presents an opportunity that is not to be missed.

The Turbo is parked in a heated secure large parking space, with columns surround the car's parking space. It cannot be door dinged by other cars parked next to it.
@Pocket66s thank you. I just took some close up pics showing the area is smooth.
Hi Don,
Could you take a look at picture 43 --appears to be a tear in the A pillar trim. Not sure if its covered in leather so could be from a fingernail. Please clarify. Thanks.
@TMR3 yes they are 100% OEM and the part number stamping is between the spokes.
Are the wheels on the car now OEM porsche wheels?
@Pocket66s you're welcome

Don,
Thanks for responsiveness !
@JModa911 AWD
Is this AWD or RWD
@MezgerTT I, personally, don't think the wheels are holding it back. i think it will land where it should. I have this same car, with some more miles, and I also have the stock wheels in my garage, but not on the car. Considering the fact they shouldn't get any wear while they are in the garage, it could be seen as a positive. I hope others agree.
Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI) done yesterday. It was very good. Please see pics of PPI report.
PPI POSTED. Got a PPI done yesterday and it came back very good. PPI results have been uploaded.

@Pocket66s Just added a video of me driving and going through all 6 gears, and pics of the original OEM Turbo I wheels. The Turbo I wheels are in excellent condition (no curb rash, please see pics). I swapped the wheels because I just liked the Turbo II wheels more, that's all.
@MezgerTT The Xpel ppf film added around 2 to the paint meter reading, I had the paint meter done prior to the ppf (multiple times).
Regarding the Expel PPF, it adds about 5- 6 mil to the paint meter readings.
Great .1 TT. Not many in this condition with low miles. Anxious to see where it lands as I’m going to try keeping my hand off the bid button until the end. As strange as it seems, I wonder who else thinks the Turbo II wheels are holding the price/bidding back a bit? I know it doesn’t sound logical because the original wheels come with the car, however, I would have the original wheels on the car for the auction. Just my 2 cents.

@Pocket66s unfortunately it did not come with one when I purchased the Turbo.
Also, window sticker?
Hello Don,
Could you please add close up pictures of all 4 of the original wheels. Why the change to the II's --any curb rash or bends/cracks in them? Also, if possible a driving video of the car going thru all 6 gears. Thanks.

@Balou maybe you are referring to the coolant lines needing to be pinned. I had the same question and was told this turbo has not been tracked (or no indication of track use per DME), and was told the coolant lines are stocked and not pinned. Hope this helps.
@Balou sorry I am not familiar with that issue.
Good morning,
Do you know if the cooling system issue (issue for all 997.1 turbo) is fixed?

@artichoke just spoke with my mechanic. He said it is the HVAC drain tube.
Bid in the amount of $27,000
This one has the very rare rear wiper option.
@NYNE97.2 thank you!
@artichoke The “spring” in the last undercarriage photo may actually be a ribbed drain tube. Nice car, seller.
@artichoke Arlington, VA
@artichoke Hi, the pcm and phone is stock. I do not believe 997.1 911 cars had bluetooth capabilites, and I never use the phone on the pcm. I believe the spring is just normal stock parts under the car.
Does the on board computer system have Bluetooth for telephone connectivity?
My 2006 did not.
What is the spring hanging down in the next to last under car photos?
Where are you in VA, (I'm in Bethesda, MD).
Bid in the amount of $25,997
@artichoke I really do not know. The dealer (Ryan Friedman Motors) I got the turbo from did tell me a car collector had it before me. As for track time, I had the same concern, it was hard to find a Turbk with a clean DME, but the DME report (pulled last week) highly suggests this engine was babied and never tracked.
Why so many owners with so little milage? Any track time?
@Jf490 Hi, yes clean title. As far as I can tell by the paint meter reading and owning her, it is original paint. I had the paint meter done before buying the car and before doing the ppf. The readings before the ppf is about 2mm less than the current reading in pics, which now has the Xpel clear film covering the whole car.
Clean title ? All original paint ?

@ianbsears unfortunately the dealer (Ryan Friedman Motors) did not have any when I purchased the turbo. I just have the two oil changes I did last May and last week.
do you have full service records?
Hi, I am the owner of the 997 Turbo and also a PCA member. Please feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer them all.
