Now up for auction is this 2008 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Carrara White over a Cocoa Special Leather interior. The last generation of the 911 Turbo to feature the coveted Mezger engine, this 997.1 also comes factory equipped with the rare Makassar Wood Package and Sport Chrono Package along with Exclusive details including a footrest in aluminum, Porsche crested headrests, sun visors in leather, and instrument dials in Carrara White. It was purchased by the current owner in 2019 and has been maintained through an authorized Porsche dealer ever since. Showing just over 34k miles on the odometer, this very nicely presented 997 Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
This 997 is finished in nonmetallic Carrara White with a Cocoa Brown cabriolet top. As a Turbo variant, this example features wide fenders, rear side air intakes, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. The full front end of the vehicle has been preserved under Xpel clear protection film, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. The factory 19” Turbo wheels have been finished in chrome and are said to have been dressed in new Michelin Pilot Sport tires earlier in 2021.
Inside, you will find a Cocoa Special Leather interior with the rare Makassar Wood Package as well as a Makassar-trimmed multi-function steering. Options from Porsche’s Exclusive Department include instrument dials in Carrara White, sun visors in leather, Porsche crested headrests, and a footrest in aluminum. Other noteworthy details include a storage compartment lid with an embossed model logo, heated seats, ParkAssist, a six-disc CD autochanger, and a Sport Chrono stopwatch mounted on the center of the dashboard. The seller has also upgraded the infotainment system with a modern Kenwood touchscreen head unit including Apple CarPlay. All gauges and accessories are said to remain fully functional.
Originally developed for the 911 GT1 Le Mans car, the Mezger engine is favored by many enthusiasts as one of Porsche’s greatest engine designs. The 3.6L twin-turbocharged engine in this 997 is capable of delivering as much as 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 3.5 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono Package also allows the driver to optimize and enhance driving characteristics with the press of a button. The CARFAX report highlights a history of maintenance dating back to 2008 and the seller notes that all scheduled service has been addressed by Porsche Gold Coast throughout their ownership. There are no outstanding maintenance items reported at this time.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals, Porsche windstop, and a clean title. Showcasing a highly sought-after Mezger engine and a beautifully appointed interior, this first-generation 997 Turbo is not to be overlooked.

Had some off line questions about the Tiptronic.
I own several manual and a couple of PDK pcars - and I am admittedly not a race car driver. But I can tell you the combination of Tiptronic, Mezger engine and Turbo is about as good as it gets. Less than a second slower (0-60 in 3.4 vs 2.8) than my ‘15 Turbo S, and as smart at the downshift as they come. There you have it, my final hour risk of over selling comment! Bid with confidence - you will love this car.

One additional comment about the radio modification - I am a bit of a collector so I do recognize the importance / value of originality. But having said that, with a car of this vintage (2008) the emphasis was on usability and convenience - and the Kenwood head fit perfectly and sits in the exact same space as the original, looks the same, just has the benefit of Apple car play, makes use of the original Bose audio system, and has a back up camera feature. It's a real improvement worth the forfeit of an original head. ( Again, I will provide the original one as soon as I can locate it - pretty sure I have it) A few hours to go - I am available to answer any questions. The car is very solid, turns heads, and is issue free. Good luck to all.
@davethewave911 Yes to both keys and all manuals - but no to original sticker - sorry.

@cibenglish tag is mounted to tow hook. It screws out and yes the white cap is in the car
Nice looking 997! Can you explain how the front tag is mounted and is that a normal mounting. My state is a one tag solution. Is the round cap stored in the frunk?

Thank you all for your interest. BTW - the higher paint meter readings were on the areas wrapped in XPEL - there has never been any damage or paint work on this car - it's flawless.

@jbauto for some reason, the brown leather does not get hot like black. It heats up in direct sun, but not like black. Those chrome Porsche wheels cane with the car - I really like the look and get lots of positive comments on them. Thanks
Looks like Corvette wheels. Convertibles are the most enjoyable cars, I think, but dark interiors in the hot Sun are a bitch. They can be a real Youch. This spec is otherwise very nice. Tip with a Turbo makes for easy driving I'm sure. GL

Welcome and thanks for viewing our 2008 Turbo. Just a super clean, great running Turbo. Never any issues before or during our ownership. Bought for my wife a little over a year ago, we have a small collection and she just doesn’t drive it much. I love the build, very unique combo of white and cocoa brown with Makassar trim. Car is fast and runs great, happy to answer any questions - bid with confidence- its a really solid car.
