Culminating in less than 200 examples delivered to the U.S. in total, the 997 GT2 was touted as the most powerful high-performance 911 upon its debut. Equipped with a lightweight design, a twin-turbocharged Mezger engine, and a 6-speed manual transmission, the GT2 provides an unadulterated experience for the discerning driver. This example comes finished in Black over a matching interior, featuring wheels and caps painted Black, red taillights, the Sport Chrono Package, painted Sport Seat backrests, extensive carbon fiber interior options, and much more. Having spent most of its time in California, this GT2 was acquired by its seller from a Porsche authorized dealer in December of 2021 and is now being offered for auction showing just over 13k miles on the odometer.
This 997 comes finished in Black and features taillights in red and 19” GT2 wheels in exterior color with matching caps, dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The GT2 shares its wide bodywork and rear side air intakes with the 911 Turbo, distinguishing itself with redesigned front and rear fascias as well as a unique rear wing with integrated air scoops. Additionally, the GT2 comes standard with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) including yellow-painted calipers. The seller adds that the front lip has been replaced. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black full leather interior features Adaptive Sport Seats with Porsche-crested headrests and exterior-colored seatbacks. In addition to the optional Carbon Interior Package, carbon fiber was also selected for the multifunction steering wheel, switch panel, B-pillars, rear center console, and illuminated door entry guards. Further optional equipment includes the Sport Chono Package, Bose Surround Sound System, Navigation Module for PCM, and a Porsche-embossed Alcantara steering bin lid. The seller notes a minor imperfection within the carbon fiber closest to the windshield, and the top of the shift knob is peeling slightly.
The 997 GT2 is equipped with a 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine that utilizes twin Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) turbochargers and generates up to 530 HP and 505 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 3 seconds up to a top speed of over 200 MPH. Stopping power comes from vented ceramic composite brakes paired with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear aluminum monobloc calipers. A total of 31 service history records are provided in the CARFAX report.
This sale will include a clean title.

These cars are much more special than many would think, and that is because they are so very uncommon in the USA. With only 1242 made for the entire world and somewhere between 194 and 212 in the North American marketplace, you can be excused for not noticing them.
I own a near clone of this very car, but mine has 51k miles at this time, and I gleefully drive the car regularly as it is just such a fun experience. This lower mileage example is begging its next driver to have some fun with it. GLWTA!
