This 2008 Porsche 997 Carrera S Cabriolet is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over Sand Beige leather and pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six. It was further configured with the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose High-End Sound Package, a navigation module for Porsche Communication Management, colored Porsche-crested wheel caps, and more. This U.S.-market example was initially delivered in Florida before being imported to Canada in 2013. Showing less than 29k kilometers (~18k miles) on the odometer, this open-top Carrera S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ontario.

This 997 comes finished in Meteor Grey Metallic with a Black convertible soft top. The Carrera S can be distinguished from the standard Carrera by its red-painted brake calipers and quad exhaust outlets. Equipment also includes front fog lights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and custom clear side markers. It rides on 19” Carrera S wheels with optional colored Porsche crests. The seller reports that the exterior is in excellent original condition with the exception of minor imperfections. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine factory-rated at 355 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM), an Active Brake Differential (ABD), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), and fixed 4-piston brakes with cross-drilled discs at each corner. The seller states that routine time-interval service items have been addressed with no outstanding maintenance, and the CARFAX report lists 14 service history entries.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. This 997 Carrera S is an exceptional example that has been meticulously maintained throughout its life. With only 17,867 miles, this car has been garage-kept and driven sparingly as a weekend and fair-weather vehicle. The CARFAX report shows a clean history with no accidents or damage, and documented service records demonstrate consistent care from both the original Florida owner and subsequent ownership. This is exactly the type of low-mileage, well-preserved 997 that enthusiasts seek - a beautiful car that has been cherished.”

@Cha_Ching According to NHTSA’s official FAQ, if a vehicle bears the original manufacturer certification label stating compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), it can be re-imported as a “conforming motor vehicle” without federalization procedures.

Since the car was originally sold and delivered in the US, are there any federalization procedures that this car must go thru before registering in the US? Any idea?
@songbird_two Yes agreed! It’s a beautiful drive.
It really feels like it left the assembly line last year. The car still smells Iike leather inside, no air fresheners were ever used.

@Mezger7 No it’s completely stock. No modifications were made.
Thanks !
Any modifications done to the vehicle?
@Philip61 For re-entry procedures and costs, we’d recommend using a professional shipper that will assist with transport and import - they handle all the paperwork and customs clearance. You can do this yourself by completing the necessary paperwork and providing notice to CPB prior to import but for a flat fee, it’s worth using the experts. Import duty is typically 2.5% on vehicles. Please refer to the CBP website for accurate and current information: https://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/importing-car
Thanks!

@rhueson What are the procedures for re-entry to the U.S.? What does it cost? Import Duties? Is this something you can handle? Ive never imported a vehicle so I have no idea ? Thanks
I had a very similar one in Silver. I miss that car, an amazing drive!
This looks like a well preserved example with some nice options.
@Fcar456
The car had a PPI performed at Porsche on August 8th/2024. At that time the car was scanned with zero codes and absolutely no mechanical issues. I did not ask for an over rev report on this car as I didn’t think it was necessary like my 911 turbo. I purchased it from an elderly gentleman who had multiple P cars. The car was not tracked or abused. If I had a scanner capable of doing this for you I gladly would but I do not. Take care.
DME. Over revs?

Hi @Lexday47,
We can recommend some professional transportation companies like TFX International, Reliable Carriers, or A1 Auto Transport. They handle Canada-US vehicle shipping and customs.
Or you can import and drive it back yourself through Detroit.
Happy to coordinate pickup or transportation with the buyer either way.
Thanks!
Can seller offer any assistance or recommendations on export back to U.S. thru preferably Detroit, I think that it being a U.S. car originally alleviates a lot of issues but haven’t purchased a Canadian car for U.S. return in several years, thanks
