Pairing a 6-speed manual transmission with its naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six, this 2008 Porsche 997 Carrera S comes finished in Cobalt Blue Metallic over Black upholstery. Acquired by the seller as a Porsche Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in March 2014, it has since been converted to a track car, incorporating a lightweight interior, a roll cage, OMP Racing seats, a short-throw shift kit, Ohlins track-dedicated suspension, Pagid Racing yellow brake pads, GiroDisc brake rotors, braided stainless steel brake lines, and much more. Showing approximately 102k miles on the odometer, this track-ready Carrera S is now being offered for auction once again on PCARMARKET by its seller out of Virginia.
This 997 comes finished in Cobalt Blue Metallic and can be distinguished as a Carrera S by its red-painted brake calipers and quad exhaust outlets. It rides on optional 19” Sport Design wheels shod in three-year-old Hoosier R7 tires, used for a single weekend on the track. Modifications include hood latches, a fire suppression system, and a 2” lowered ride height. The seller notes some paint imperfections, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the black cabin has been stripped for a lightweight setup. Modifications include a bolt-in roll cage, OMP Racing seats with a driver’s halo, Sparco Martini Racing 6-point harnesses, a quick-release MOMO steering wheel, a GT2/GT3 short-throw shift kit, an AIM Solo 2 data logger, an engine kill switch, and the removal of the rear seats and carpeting. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.
The engine has been replaced with a 2007 Carrera S-derived 3.8-liter flat-six engine, which reportedly had approximately 53k miles at the time of installation. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission, with the clutch replaced approximately 13k miles ago. Notable modifications include a Softronics Performance Software ECU tune, Rennline Strut Tower Brace, Ohlins Road and Track suspension, Pagid Yellow RS-19 brake pads, GiroDisc brake rotors, braided steel brake lines, and an auxiliary oil cooler. Most upgrades and services are said to have been carried out at Quantum Speed Works in Alton, VA, at VIR.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This Carrera S was purchased as a CPO from Porsche of Hilton Head as a daily driver in March 2014. I drove the car as my daily for a couple of years and then slowly started to upgrade it to be more performance-oriented, and a better track car with a focus on HPDE events. The car has served me very well and is a blast to drive on the track. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to get to the track to enjoy it, so I am letting the car go to a new home where it can be appreciated. Good luck with your bidding.”

Any updates on the dates of those belts and seat?
@Igrip - Thank you for your questions. The under carriage is clean and consistent with it's age. The AC still functions correctly, as I opted to keep it in the car for hot days at the track.
Bid in the amount of $16,500
How does the undercarriage look rust-wise? AC functioning correctly?
@Henderjb - Thank you for your question.
Unfortunately, I missed a shift at speed and it was the "money shift".
@Bjonsson Thank you for your questions.
I have to reach out to Quantum, at VIR to have them poll the dates from the harnesses and fire bottle and the dates on the brake pads/rotors. I will post the dates as soon as I get them.
The car does have an additional radiator installed and I have not upgraded the master cylinder.
Please let me know if you have other questions. I am happy to jump on a call to discuss the car if that is helpful.
Matt
Nice looking track car. Can you please elaborate on why the engine was replaced? Thank you
Bid in the amount of $15,000
@mmmcquigg51
What is the date on the harnesses, seats and fire bottle?
How many track sessions are there on the brake pads and rotors? how long ago did the brake pads/rotors get changed? Did you upgrade the master cylinder?
Does it have third radiator?
BTW, nice looking track car

@spiroa Thank you for your questions.
The stock motor was 355HP, so it was increased by 42 HP with the ECU flash and upgraded exhaust.
Unfortunately, I don’t know what the actual weight of the car is, but it has been lightened considerably from stock.
I am not aware of any back registration fees that would be required to put it back on the street.
I welcome any other questions you have.
Bid in the amount of $911
397hp to the rear wheels is about 85hp more than than stock. Did you mean flywheel horsepower, or are there additional engine modifications?
Do you know how much it weighs?
Do you know if the buyer would have to pay back registration fees to register it for street use again?
Thanks for your time!
@MaikoR Estimated HP is 397 to the rear wheels.
What’s is estimated hp? Thanks
@classic-michael Appreciate your questions. IMS bearing was replaced. I have not had it bore scoped, but the car is cared for and stored at Quantum Speed Works at Virginia International Raceway if you would like to have it looked at or speak with them about the car. The car was street legal and tagged as recently as 3 years ago. I have not made any other modifications to change its status in this timeframe.
@cheungms No OEM parts come with the car.
Any more details on engine- IMS, Bore conditions, maintenance records. Is car still street legal.
Any OEM parts included?
