Finished in Black over Sand Beige upholstery, this 2008 Porsche 997 Carrera 4S pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six delivering power to all four wheels. It was further optioned with 19” Sport Design wheels, stainless steel exhaust pipes, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, the Bose High-End Sound Package, the Power Seat Package, and more. Initially delivered at Harper Porsche in Knoxville Tennessee, on November 1, 2007, this one-owner C4S is now being offered for auction while showing under 29k miles on the odometer.
Compared to the base 997 Carrera, the 4S model sports wider fenders, quad exhaust outlets, and red-painted brake calipers. This example comes finished in Black and rides on optional 19” Sport Design wheels with colored Porsche center crests and Pirelli P Zero tires from 2019 installed new in April 2022. The seller notes a ½” scratch, some normal small front-end paint pits from routine driving, and the front bumper was replaced in 2008 due to a parking incident. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Sand Beige standard leather and features heated front seats, the Power Seat Package, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus, adding a stopwatch dial atop the dashboard. Other optional amenities include self-dimming mirrors, the Bose High-End Sound Package, a remote 6-disc CD changer, a navigation module for PCM, and floor mats in interior color. Minor surface scratches on the driver’s door panel and stickiness on the radio knobs are noted. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly with no warning lights reported.
A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 179 MPH. Standard equipment includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and internally ventilated and perforated 330mm brake discs. The seller confirms there are no outstanding maintenance items, and extensive maintenance records will accompany the sale. The CARFAX report indicates a total of 24 service history entries.
This sale will include a clean title, two keys, owner's manuals, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a window sticker, sales literature, a toolkit, an air pump, and a car cover.
The seller would like you to know: "I am a car collector with pride of ownership. I want the next owner of my cars to be just as proud. The information that I have provided is meant to disclose everything that I would want to know if I was considering buying the car. The car has always been garaged. It has always been a fair-weather car but I have been 'caught' in the rain a few times. All maintenance records will be provided along with the window sticker and Certificate of Authenticity. The car is turn-key ready for you to enjoy."

@jacob27 I am not aware of the reason for not testing #6, but they did say that #2 and #3 would be representative of all.
@kkhoag Thanks for provided the PPI. One question: Cylinder #6 is usually the first to score..... so this cylinder is usually the one tested (cylinder #2 + #3 said they were the ones tested). Are you aware of the reason that the shop did not scope cylinder #6? Thanks!

The PPI has been completed, including compression test, bore scoring inspection and over revs. Written report (all good) will be posted in the morning.
@jacob27 Making room for my next great car. I’ve owned this one since new in 2008!
@kkhoag Thank you! Also, what is the reason you are selling the car?
@jacob27 Yes,bore scope will be completed during the PPI.
@kkhoag Fantastic. The main area I am wanting checked are the bores since it is a common issue with 997. I understand there is a little bit more time required to inspect the bores, but would it be possible to have Eurotech of Knoxville check this during the PPI today?
@rwmacgurn Thanks for your interest. Yes, rev ranges will be shown in the PPI. For info, the PPI is being performed by Eurotech of Knoxville. See their website for background information.
@kkhoag will there be an ECU printout showing rev ranges when you do the PPI?
thanks
Bid in the amount of $40,250
@jacob27 I should be able to post results of the PPI late tomorrow.
@kkhoag Thanks! Do you know when you will have the PPI completed?
@jacob27 Thanks for your interest and questions. I will have a PPI done which will include a compression test. I may not be able to get the bore scope done in time. I am open to test drives by any interested party.
Bid in the amount of $40,000
Couple questions!
1. Have you had a PPI done?
2. Have the bores been scoped/compression test been completed?
3. Are you open to test drives before a bid is placed?
