Up for auction is this 2008 Porsche 997.1 Carrera finished in black over a black standard leather interior. Characterized by its visceral and mechanical feel, the 997 generation has become one of the more preferred water-cooled 911’s for many avid driving enthusiasts. This 2008 example is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, 19” Carrera Classic wheels and the Bose High End Sound Package. Highlighting desirable specifications while showing under 19k miles on the odometer, this Carrera presents an opportunity that is not to be overlooked.
The black finish on this Carrera is noted to be in excellent overall condition. The seller notes that the driver’s side door, rear quarter panel and quarter glass have been professionally repaired under the his ownership following some surface cosmetic damage. All of the repair work was carried out to a very high standard as can be seen in the images provided in the photo gallery. This 997 .1 rides on factory 19” Carrera Classic wheels which are currently dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires from 2018.
This Carrera features a black standard leather interior with heated and power operated front seats. Other factory options include the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, the Bose High End Sound Package and self-dimming mirrors. The cabin is noted to be in fantastic shape with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.6 L flat-six engine which is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. 325 HP is delivered to the rear wheels making for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.8 seconds. The 997 generation is sought after for its tactile driving experience which is attributed in part to its excellent hydraulic power steering system. This 2008 example underwent its 10k mile service in 2018 and received its most recent standard service in May of 2020. The battery was also recently replaced, and the seller confirms an oil change will be carried out prior to delivery.
The sale of this 997.1 will include a set of two keys, books, service records, a car cover a wireless-charging phone holder and a Bluetooth audio adapter. Do not miss your chance to own this low-mileage 6-speed Carrera.

@playswithporsches Hi there, thank you for your interest. It's easy to miss some info in the description so I'm happy to explain again here.
About the keys:
The car comes with two original keys and both are functional.
About the stone guard:
The left stone guard was replaced with a new one. The new stone guard blends better comparing to the other side. I actually went down to the garage and took another photo of the left stone guard and I'm more than happy to send you the photo, if that could help.
About the paintwork:
The job was done at Manhattan Motorcars Porsche (711 11th Ave, New York, NY 10019). It is one of the two Porsche stores in Manhattan (another being Manhattan Motorcars Porsche Chelsea). The receipt is attached in the pcarmarket gallery on the right hand side of this page.
I hope these answered your question.
Question for seller : does the car only come with 1 key? Is the car missing the plastic stone guard on the side that was painted? I cant tell from photos. Any receipt for the paintwork? Also what body shop did the paintwork - my apologies if it was in the ad and I missed it.

@tstamm this car has never been tracked or over-revved. I currently don't have that as most of the mechanical shops are not open due to COVID.
With that being said, I'm happy to have the car inspected as Massachusetts is reopening, if that could help.
Is there an over rev report available? IMS service?
Thank you
@Heihei hi Heihei, it's a genuine concern and I had the same one too when I was buying this car. In short, the interior is immaculate. I'm not a smoker and have never allowed anyone smoked in the car. I'd recommend you to come to see the car in person as some of the potential buyers did in the past week, if opportunities allow. Please feel free to let me know if there's any question.
Thank you for your interest.
Can you comment on the interior? Has it ever been smoked in? Any smells?
Bid in the amount of $15,100
@Heihei Thank you for the reply. I understand your concern on the potential damages if the car was driven on salty roads. Actually, I took my car to Columbia University for my brother's commencement on May and I spent a week there.
The rear panel is in its perfect condition right now. I think that's because of the reflection of the sky in the photos. I strongly recommend you to take a look at the video provided above and the rear panel is shown at 0:28.
I hope that answered your question.

The right rear quarter panel paint looks a little tarnished where it meets the tail light. Is there an imperfection there or is that just a photographic effect?
How much time has this car spent in New York? It sounds like it was broken there and repaired there.
Has this car ever driven on salty roads?
@Heihei Hi @Heihei thank you for your interest. I actually received several emails regarding the repair, so I think it would be better for me to clarify here.
What happened was when the NYPD was towing my car, they decided to disengage the handbrake in order to prevent damages to the engine and transmission. The rear quarter glass was carefully removed to get into the car and very few tiny shards of glass fell on the surface of the quarter panel area during the process. It was really unnoticeable and it was taken care of at one of the best Porsche dealerships in Manhattan and replaced with an OEM quarter glass.
I decided to include this piece of information as I have no intention to hide anything about the car. I want the next buyer to have a complete picture of what they are buying, as I was in the same shoes two years ago.
I hope these answered your question. Again, thank you for your interest in the car.
@andermj1 Hi @andermj1, thank you for your interest. I have another car for the winter in Boston and this car has always been kept in the underground garage during the winter time.
What is the story with the body work in the black and white pictures?
Would you be able to share photos of the underside of vehicle to asses how the Boston winters have treated vehicle and include front lip?
Bid in the amount of $1,000
Thanks the pcarmarket team for the assistance on posting this auction. I truly love this Carrera and the Porsche community. The car has always been kept in garage. Please feel free to let me know if there's any thing you want to know!
