Designed by Pierre Terblanche and unveiled at the 2005 EICMA trade show in Milan where it was awarded “Best in Show”, the Ducati Hypermotard was the first Ducati motorcycle of the Supermotard class, engineered for racing across tarmac, packed dirt, and motocross obstacles. This 2008 Ducati Hypermotard is a premium 1100S version featuring a 90-horsepower 1,078cc V-twin engine, an external diamond-like carbon (DLC) black coating, an Öhlins remote reservoir rear shock, lightweight forged aluminum wheels, and Brembo Monobloc brake calipers from the 1098 sport bike. The bike is said to have remained with its original owner until it was sold to his friend, the current owner, in 2022. Benefitting from a recent timing belt service and oil change, this Ducati Hypermotard 1100S is now being offered for auction out of New York with just over 6k miles on the odometer.

The Hypermotard is characterized by its “duck bill” front fender, one-piece dual seat, and handguards with integrated LED indicators and folding mirrors. The higher-specification 1100S version receives a durable diamond-like carbon (DLC) black coating on the front fork sliders and a carbon fiber front mudguard, fork protectors, timing belt covers, and tail side panels. It also comes standard with lightweight forged aluminum 10-spoke Marchesini wheels with red pinstripes. This example is finished in rare black paint with matching wheels dressed in Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires.

The bike is equipped with an air-cooled 1,078cc V-twin engine with 2 desmodromic valves per cylinder. The 6-speed manual transmission features a dry multi-plate clutch, straight-cut gears, and a chain drive that delivers up to 90 HP to the rear wheel. Equipment includes a 50mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic fork, a fully adjustable Öhlins remote reservoir rear shock with progressive linkage, dual 305mm front brake discs with 4-piston Brembo Monobloc calipers, and a single 245mm rear disc with a 2-piston caliper.  The seller indicates a Ducati steering stabilizer has been installed and the timing belts were replaced along with an oil change in September 2024.

This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean Maine title.

The seller would like you to know: “Hello Everyone, I hope all is well. I am selling this bike ONLY because I have too many bikes in the garage already. This bike is absolutely immaculate in all ways and is completely up to date on services - it is turnkey and ready to ride. I welcome anyone to come by and take a look. It is as nice as they come.”

As we are in the final stretch here I would like to remind everyone that this auction does in fact have a reserve on it. I encourage you all to look at recent results of similar bikes for an idea of where the reserve is:

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-ducati-hypermotard-1100-s-13/

Like I said at the beginning of the auction, I am looking to sell because I am low on space so the reserve is not set absurdly high, though it is still a ways from a number I am happy from letting it go at.

Bid with confidence - this bike has no stories.

    @8000rpm yes.

  • 8000rpm (registered bidder) 8 months, 3 weeksago

OK - so the tires are at least 2 years old then?

  • Jeb05420 (seller) 8 months, 3 weeksago

I do know there is hardly any wear on the tires

  • Jeb05420 (seller) 8 months, 3 weeksago

They are not original, i don’t know the codes off hand though.

  • 8000rpm (registered bidder) 8 months, 3 weeksago

Seller - are the tires original? I cannot quite make out the date codes in the photos.

@sfmonster23 Frankly, I just think it looks nicer than a real plate.

  • Jeb05420 (seller) 8 months, 3 weeksago

@sfmonster23 I work at autosport designs - i would rather have their plate on than mine.

  • sfmonster23 (registered bidder) 8 months, 3 weeksago

@Jeb05420 Why is there an Autosport Designs "plate" on the bike in the pictures?

  • Jeb05420 (seller) 9 monthsago

I agree - as a matter of fact, the last time I rode the bike it made me think long and hard about actually selling it... Once I got home and saw the other 9 bikes in the garage I realized I may in fact have a problem though.

This was my second 1100s and certainly won't be my last.

I have this exact bike...it is THE most fun you can have on two-wheels. In many ways, the last classic Ducati with trellis frame, dry clutch and single-sided-swingarm. TORQUE for days! The S has upgraded brakes, wheels, and suspension (and carbon fiber bits :-) Buyer will not be dissapointed. This one looks immaculate. Good luck with auction for both sides.

Good Afternoon all, and welcome to this 2008 Ducati Hypermotard 1100s Auction. This Hyper has been collector owned since new and fastidiously cared for under both ownerships, it is excellent in absolutely every way. I would like to say I'm excited to offer this Ducati here on PCar but I am certainly going to be sad to see it go.

Please use the contact seller button if you wish to arrange an in person inspection of the Ducati, or would like to send your qualified inspector to inspect the car on your behalf. We’re also available for FaceTime “virtual inspections,” as well.

I am happy to work out shipping with the winning bidder.

Good luck to all in winning this extraordinary example of one of the best motorcycles ever produced, in my humble opinion. This will not be my last.

    Jack
