We are pleased to present this 2008 Chevrolet C6 Corvette Indy Pace Car. For 2008, the Corvette was chosen once again as the Official Pace Car for the Indy 500. To commemorate this event, Corvette produced a limited series of 500 pace car replicas, of which only 148 were offered with manual transmissions. Designated by option code RPO-Z4Z, the Pace Car Package includes a Black exterior with Indy graphics, a special two-tone Titanium Gray interior, forged chrome wheels, dual-mode exhaust, the Z51 Performance Handling Package, and an armrest autographed by 2008 pace car driver Emerson Fittipaldi. Having been recently acquired from a private collection, this Corvette (#399 of 500) remains nicely preserved and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with just over 2k miles showing on the odometer.
One of only 234 coupes, this limited-edition Corvette comes finished in Black with checkered flag Indy 500 Pace Car graphics, Cloisonne fender badges, a Z06-style spoiler, and staggered 18”/19” forged chrome wheels dressed in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The condition of the exterior is said to reflect low mileage and meticulous care, additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, you will find a special two-tone Titanium Gray and black leather interior with Pace Car exclusive features including Indy 500 seat embroideries and an inner console lid signed and numbered by Emerson Fittipaldi. Additional equipment includes an AM/FM stereo CD player, DVD navigation, power-adjustable seats, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The seller notes the cabin remains in excellent condition showing little to no signs of wear.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6.2L LS3 V8 engine rated at 436 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transaxle with a 3.42 rear axle ratio. The Pace Car Package adds a dual-mode exhaust system and the Z51 Performance Handling Package which includes stiffer springs and stabilizer bars, firmer shock absorbers, and larger brakes with cross-drilled rotors. A history of service is available on CARFAX, and the seller notes that routine recommended maintenance was always kept up to date by the previous owner.
