The fifth-generation BMW M5 was the first and only iteration of the model to feature a V10 engine. This 2008 example is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, a configuration offered exclusively in North America with only 1,364 units produced in total. Finished in Black Sapphire Metallic over Black Merino leather, it features 19” Style 166 wheels, active sport seats, a power sunroof in glass, a head-up display, Comfort Access, a BMW Professional DSP sound system, and more. This M5 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts, with approximately 106k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to the standard 5-Series, the M5 features a wider track, front fender vents, revised bumpers, a subtle rear decklid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Black Sapphire Metallic and equipped with adaptive xenon headlights with washers, a glass electric sunroof, and black powder-coated 19” Style 166 wheels with Falken Azenis FK510 tires from 2021. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting damage in December 2018 which resulted in a front driver fender replacement. Imperfections include a repaired door ding on the passenger rear door, a small indentation on the driver-side rear pillar, minor rock chips on the hood, curb rash on the wheels, and small indentations on the lower front bumper. The front windshield top seal strip occasionally requires adjustment.
The cabin presents Black Merino leather with brushed aluminum trim. Factory features include multi-function active sport seats, a sliding glass sunroof, iDrive navigation, Comfort Access keyless entry, a head-up display, park distance control, rear sunshades, and a BMW Professional DSP sound system. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel sits ahead of a 200-MPH speedometer, a 9k-RPM tachometer with a variable redline, and gauges for oil temperature and fuel level. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be in proper working order. The seller notes a small leather wear spot on the shifter and minor plastic coating wear on the steering wheel and driver door trim. In 2024, water ingress into the trunk wheel well damaged the TPMS module, leading to its replacement along with the rear window trim.
The E60 M5 is powered by a 5.0L S85 V10 engine factory rated at 500 HP and 384 lb.-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a rare 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH can be achieved in as little as 4.5 seconds with an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. The seller reports throttle actuator replacements in 2018 and a DSC/ABS unit and alternator replacement in 2019. Additionally, the oil cooler was replaced in 2022, while 2024 servicing addressed the differential input seal, windshield washer pump, thermostat, A/C compressor, and rod bearings.
This sale will include a clean title and service documentation.
The seller would like you to know: “From putting the biggest smile on his face when pushing the M button, enjoying the glorious sound of cold start warm-up rumble of V10 on a brisk day, discovering all of the convenience features over many years of ownership (truly a Driver’s car), to getting random compliments from people that know how special this car is.”

Hello everybody and thanks for looking at this car. I would like to clarify the Carfax report as it is actually inaccurate. The car was hit in a parking lot in Cambridge MA and whoever did it drove off. The car was driven to the repair shop and the owner used insurance to have the car repaired. He also decided to have some minor dings and scratches on the rear bumper repaired at the same time. The car was not in a moving accident at all and the rear report assumed the rear was accident damage because it was repaired at the same time. That was not the case. Thanks
