Now available for auction is this 2008 BMW E60 535xi finished in Deep Sea Blue Metallic over a Natural Brown Dakota leather interior. Representing the fifth generation of BMW’s 5-Series executive sports sedan, the E60 introduced new styling under BMW’s Design Director Chris Bangle, and new technology including the iDrive infotainment system and many of the driving assistance features seen on today's BMWs. This example came equipped with the very rare and highly sought-after 6-speed manual transmission, an option reportedly selected for less than 10% of all E60s produced for the 2008 model year. Acquired by the seller in July of 2021, this all-wheel-drive E60 has since undergone service of the steering, suspension, engine, ignition system, and brakes within the last 1k miles. Now showing approximately 90k miles on the odometer, this 535xi is being offered for auction by its owner out of Illinois.
This 535xi is finished in Deep Sea Blue Metallic (A76) with optional black Shadowline window trim. As a 2008 model, this 5-Series received BMW’s Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) update, including revised headlights, taillights, and front fascia. Other exterior details include adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, a power sunroof, and polished dual-exhaust finishers. The seller notes some touched-up chips on the front bumper as well as a hairline crack and some small scratches on the rear bumper, detailed images are available in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 535xi retains its original 18” BMW Style 124 wheels, which are wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact tires showing date codes of 2018 in the front and 2019 in the rear.
The cabin features Natural Brown Dakota leather upholstery with Maple Sycamore wood trim lining the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The heated multi-function sport steering wheel is wrapped in leather and sits ahead of a 160-MPH speedometer, a 7k-RPM tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and fuel economy. Other driver’s amenities include BMW iDrive infotainment, a head-up display, automatic climate control, Comfort Access door handles, 20-way power-adjustable heated Comfort seats, and a BMW Professional HiFi audio system with DSP. The seller notes some minor wear on the driver’s seat and door card pocket, and all instruments and accessories are said to work properly.
The E60 535xi is powered by an N54 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-6, which was factory rated at 302 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque. A rare ZF 6-speed manual transmission sends power to all four wheels through BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The CARFAX report shows a consistent history of maintenance including service at Motorwerks BMW dealerships in Minnesota and Illinois. Under the current ownership within the last 1k miles, this E60 has received an oil service, a full brake service, new spark plugs, ignition coils, air and cabin filters, front upper thrust arms, inner and outer tie rods, and front stabilizer bar links. The gears for the thigh extensions on the front seats have also been replaced along with the fuel door latch.
This sale will include a clean title, one master key, and the original owner’s manuals. Offering a rare 6-speed manual transmission and modern amenities, this well-maintained 535xi offers an incredible value as a versatile and luxurious executive sports sedan.

@Jimlerbs good evening and thank you for the compliment. The color combo caught my eye as well, I’ve grown to love brown and saddle colored leather interiors especially when they contrast with black carpeting.
Fair question, I currently own 8 vehicles and 5 being BMW’s. Addiction perhaps? There is something rewarding to me about sorting out a car that is 90% there. This one checked off a lot of boxes for me, it’s original paint with clean papers and was kept up overall when I first inspected it. The suspension was a little worn and I could tell the brakes needed to be serviced and every BMW could use a little preventative maintenance so I did a comprehensive ignition service to bullet proof that end of the car. So I take it upon myself to bring the glory out of cars that are getting harder and harder to source, it’s a bit therapeutic and I get to drive them for a bit too which is fun. This one deserved a little magic touch and maybe just maybe I’ll get my money back plus a small bonus.
I always keep my eyes open and I couldn’t resist buying a 2001 330ci in Topaz blue 5 speed with 59k miles just last month so the 535 is the chosen one this time.
Best regards,
Chris
Beautiful car. Love the color combo and of course, the 6 speed.
Quick question…if you just purchased this in July…why the quick sale?

Hello to the fellow Pcar community,
I am proud to offer this very clean and rare spec 535xi for sale, you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve been a dedicated e39 guy for about ten years now but when this car crossed paths with me I wanted to spend some time owning it. The color combination caught my eye first and then of course things got better once I discovered it was a 6 speed manual. The fact that it is also AWD means it is s useable daily enthusiast car.
I can’t speak for everyone but one thing that is a deal breaker for me is when a car has had prior paintwork and this car has never had any fortunately. I’ve included paint depth gauge readings to validate this but I scanned the car with my fingers along all the panels for edges as well.
Like this listing states, I spent some time sorting out some maintenance and repairs to make it push button ready for the next owner.
I like answering questions about my cars feel free to comment and inquire.
Thank you and best of luck!
