The 2007 911 Targa 4S featured here was purchased by the current owner just over 5 years ago and shows just 39,661 miles on the odometer. The exterior is finished in black over a multi-tone sand beige and black interior. The car is outfitted with its original 3.8-liter flat-six engine and 6-speed manual transaxle that it was ordered with from new. Factory options include heated seats, 19” Carrera S/4S Wheels, colored wheel crests, sport chrono package plus, navigation module, Bose sound system, two-tone leather, power seat package, and Porsche crests in the front seat headrests.
The seller purchased the car as a certified pre-owned Porsche from Porsche of Hilton Head, SC. As a PCA Member, he used the car for local DE events just a few times. The Carfax shows no damage or accidents. The seller does state that the rear bumper was replaced at his expense due to some minor parking lot damage.
As seen in the photo gallery, this car has some light wear and tear that is consistent for its age and mileage. A close-up photo of the PCM and A/C controls shows wear that is commonly seen in the 997.1 models. (New and more durable replacement pieces are readily available for purchase.) Gallery photos also show typical wear on the driver's bolster, center console and below the driver's side door pocket. Carpets appear to be in very nice condition.
The seller claims that in all, the exterior is an 8 out of 10 with some light scratches and chips as shown in gallery photos. The owner believes the scuffs shown on the door edge and stone guard are on the paint protection film only. Paint protection film covers the front bumper, hood, and mirrors as well.
The 911 Targa started in the mid 1960’s and quickly became a staple in Porsche history. Over the next few decades the Porsche Targa stayed relatively unchanged. When developing the 993 model in the mid 1990’s, Porsche engineered an all new sliding glass Targa roof design. This design was fully optimized when the 997 Targa was introduced. The large panoramic full glass sliding Targa is not only rare but adds a dimension to the driving experience few cars can match.
The 3.8-liter flat-six develops 355 horsepower at 6,600 rpm’s and 295 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm’s. The seller has reported there are no modifications to the engine and has recently performed the following work under his ownership:
Oil & filter, annual inspection and Catalyst replaced 31,132 mi
Ignition coils replaced 34,212 mi
Oil & filter, annual inspection and Targa top repair 38,255 mi
Front L/R pads and rotors replaced 39,447 mi
Michelin Pilot Cup 2 Tires are currently mounted to the factory wheels and are reported to be in very good condition by the seller. The owner will provide the folder of maintenance receipts along with books and two sets of keys.

Questions:
M97 engine has a very low failure rate on the IMS. No, IMS has not been replaced.
The car has never been smoked in or have any bad odors.
Roof racks are available via Pelican
@zipper not the seller here but after mid-year 2005 through 2008 models have the upgraded motor with the large non-serviceable IMS bearing (single row) Flat-6 innovations has a great video explaining the differences here.
Is there a fit kit for a roof rack?
has the IMS bearing issue been addressed?
Has the car been smoked in? Noticed an air freshener in the dash vent.
Great color combination and cool car to own!
