This 2007 Porsche 987 Cayman S is presented in a rare Lago Green Metallic finish over Sand Beige leather upholstery and pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its mid-mounted flat-six engine. Options include 19” Turbo wheels, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, spoiler lips in aluminum look, interior trim in exterior color, and more. Acquired by the seller approximately one year ago from Porsche Fort Myers, Florida, this Cayman S was previously listed on PCARMARKET and is now being offered for auction out of New Mexico while showing approximately 40k miles on the odometer.

This Cayman S is finished in the rare shade of Lago Green Metallic and features optional aluminum-look front spoiler lips. It can be distinguished as an "S" model from the base Cayman by its red-painted brake calipers and dual center-mounted exhaust outlets. This 987 rides on 19” Turbo wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires from 2018. It has been optioned with aluminum-look spoiler lips. The seller notes a few minor imperfections on the front bumper and hood and states that the red “S” model designation is faded. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor front-end damage in 2020.

Inside, this 987 is upholstered in Sand Beige leather and features optional matching floor mats and trim strips painted in the exterior color. The Sport Chrono Package was additionally opted for. The seller notes the air conditioning system was repaired under their ownership, the cup holder is broken, and they have added a black shift knob along with an aftermarket stereo and navigation system. The factory shift knob, as well as the original Porsche Communication Management (PCM) 2.1 with extended navigation and PCM Package in aluminum-look, are said to accompany the sale.

The mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six produces up to 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft. of torque, sent to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Active Brake Differential (ABD) come standard. The seller reports to have replaced the clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder. An aftermarket radiator and an upgraded FVD oil pan have also been installed. The seller notes the oil and filter have been recently changed.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, an air pump, a car cover, extensive documentation, the original shift knob, the original PCM system, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "After over a year of searching for the perfect car, I was determined to avoid the usual silver, red, or black options. When I finally found my green Cayman, I knew it was the one. I purchased it from a small dealer in Florida about two years ago, and the journey home—a three-day drive—was unforgettable. This Cayman has been an incredible car, needing only two things during my ownership: a new clutch and AC repair. Upgrades like the oil pan replacement, third radiator, and stereo were purely for enhancement. Unfortunately, at 6'4", I don't fit comfortably, which is the only reason I'm selling it. It's truly disappointing to have my dream car and not be able to enjoy it fully."

@emacfarlane0177 Nothing wrong with the Factory PCM unit. I just wanted more modern functionality for the stereo. Android Auto being a must for me these days. The original PCM unit comes with the car.

@picinkoff thank you. I didn't know that. The rating and why my shop didn't talk to me about it makes sense now.

  • picinkoff 3 monthsago

@Robiello : Hello! FYI: The timing belt did not receive the lowest rating. It got a N/A. The M97 engine has no timing belt. :)

What was the issue with the factory PCM unit? Why change it out?

  • aquas14 (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

@MakeLoveNotBidWars I'm my opinion the sound from the transmission didn't change. I agree with you about it being a great mod. It didn't make the car faster but its quicker. If revs quicker and accelerates faster than it did before.

@aquas14 Thanks for the info. Lot of great videos of that lightweight flywheel, a great mod in my opinion. Do you experience any chatter from it?

  • aquas14 (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

@MakeLoveNotBidWars The Clutch, Pressure Plate and Slave cylinder are all Sachs. The lightweight flywheel is Aasco and all the bolts were oem replacements. The cupholder doesn't stay closed the way it should. I have fixed it once with 3D printed parts. lasted for about a year. It can be closed if done slowly. You can see in the pictures that it can stay closed.

Which clutch and flywheel did you install? What about the cupholder is broken? There are some well-known fixes out there and I don't want to scare any potential buyers away, but would like to know to what extent they need to be fixed.

When I got the PPI done they didn't say anything about the timing belt. If I had known I would have had it done like the battery. They got into the codes. They are all from the computers not being able to talk with the infotainment. The clutch was replaced about a year and a half ago. I have receipts for the parts but not labor because I replaced the clutch, flywheel and slave myself.

  • Robiello (registered bidder) 3 months, 1 weekago

Hello, the attached report gives the lowest grade on the timing belt, does the timing belt need to be done? Prior to replacing the infotainment, did you get all those fault codes or only after? Also you mention the clutch was replaced, when was that? Thanks

Yes. I have had the car on here twice. Those times I didn't have a PPI or bore scoring check. This time I do. Check out the inspection in the documents.
