In 2006, Porsche introduced the first Cayman, offering a highly anticipated coupe option alongside the Boxster. Referred to internally as the 987, it distinguished itself with a fixed roof and approximately 20% of its components as brand new. Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Stone Grey leather upholstery, this Cayman S pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its mid-mounted flat-six engine. Showing approximately 64k miles on the odometer, this 987 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.
This Cayman S comes finished in Arctic Siver Metallic and can be distinguished as an “S” model by its red brake calipers and dual center-mounted exhaust. Other features include a speed-activated rear spoiler, front fog lights, side air intakes, an opening rear hatch, and aftermarket 18" Apex forged wheels with widths measuring 9” at the front & 10” at the rear. It rides on Kumho PS91 tires that were mounted less than 5k miles ago, and the factory 18” Cayman S wheels are said to accompany the sale. The seller notes minor road chips on the front end. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage to the right rear in March 2017 which has since been repaired.
The cabin presents Stone Grey standard leather upholstery with matching floor mats. Amenities include power windows and mirrors, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, a central locking system, and an aftermarket head unit with Apple CarPlay. The seller notes typical wear on high-contact areas and some fading in the central digital instrument.
A mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in less than 5 seconds while stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes paired with cross-drilled discs at each corner. The CARFAX report shows a total of 15 service history entries, and the seller adds that an oil change and air filter replacement were carried out within the last 500 miles.
This sale will include a clean title (lien), the factory wheels, owner’s manuals, and a window sticker.
The seller would like you to know: “This car is everything you want from a Porsche. perfect blend of power and feel.”

Nice looking 987.1 Croc. Yes, lots of previous owners and a reported accident, but this sexy gal looks to be in nice shape and should command more $ than where it’s at. Hoping you see last minute bidders.

Do agree, in a 987 especially and S a cold start is an important video to see. I think over revs are often overblown as it really requires a miss shift to cause an over rev. Being extra happy at Redline will not cause an over rev due to rev limiter and even if there are over Revs if it happened hours prior it becomes less relevant. Most sellers do not know what a DME is and that is fine

A cold start video will be helpful too to see if bore scoring may be an issue. You'll often see some blue smoke at start-up on a car with bad bores. These are cars that you really want a PPI on, if at all possible. Risk of getting a bad M97 engine is not insignificant.
Hey Josh - “Digital Motor Electronics” it’s what ADunk670 says. Lots of records in DME but we are interested in the part that describes how many over-revs the engine has seen, when and by how much over redline. I see the headliner - thanks.
With so many owners, I’d be curious on the DME report too.
DME is a basic computer scan to show any over revs etc. any videos would also be helpful.
@brax2u I don’t even know what a DME report is. I might be able to find some undercarriage photos somewhere. I have never taken this car on the track or done autocross. I thought I put in a picture of the headliner but it is in perfect condition with not one hint of sagging.
Nice wheels and pedals! Helpful info would include DME report, chassis/undercarriage photos, headliner condition and track/autox history. GLWTA
@RJ80 two keys. Seller is in the military and maintains a Texas residence. The final transaction for sale will be through the sellers bank who holds the lien
This one's a little confusing. The car is in Georgia, the plates are from Texas, and there's still a lien on a nearly 20-year-old car? How much is left to pay it off and will that be done before the sale closes?
I don't think I've ever seen an S with no options besides paint and floor mats before, that's a rare spec.
How many keys with this one? Replacements cost hundreds of dollars plus a charge for dealer programming.
