Up for auction is this low mileage 2007 Porsche 997 Turbo Coupe Launch Edition finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a black full leather interior. Offering supercar performance from the legendary Mezger turbocharged engine, this 997 Turbo represents an incredible value to perspective buyers. This 2-owner example features a 6-speed manual transmission and is said to have been well maintained throughout its life. Originally delivered new in Colorado, it is now being offered out of Canada with just 25k miles (41k kilometers) showing on the odometer.
Finished in Basalt Black Metallic, the seller notes that the car remains in excellent condition which is supported by the gallery photos. A few unique exterior details include an aftermarket TechArt power-operated rear spoiler, a factory widebody, and easily removable “Turbo” decals on the doors and a double stripe decal on the hood. This example rides on a tasteful set of 20" Victor Equipment wheels that wear Pirelli P Zero tires dated from 2015 in the front and 2016 in the rear.
Only one Launch Edition 997 Turbo was specially built for each Porsche Dealer to showcase the all new fully loaded version of the Turbo that would soon be available to the market, making this specific example a unique part of Porsche history. This example features a black full leather interior that comes equipped with unique options such as: heated Adaptive Sports Seats, telephone handset module, aluminum footrest, navigation, and Sport Chrono.
This 997’s 3.6 L twin-turbocharged engine delivers approximately 480 HP and 460 lb-ft through Porsche’s AWD system. Power is delivered by a desirable 6-speed manual transmission that features a factory sport shifter along with an added short shift kit. The seller notes that the coolant lines have been welded and a set of fully adjustable H&R lowering springs has been installed resulting in upgraded performance and a more aggressive stance. A significant service was competed just last month which included new spark plugs, and a full fluid and filter change. Additionally, a recent inspection was performed and the car remains in excellent running condition.
The sale will include two keys, factory books, service records and a clean US/Canadian Carfax report.

@Superchargedman Well I had no good reason to be out, and I graduated in marketing, so I got dinged. I try to rationalize speeding tickets, I can't so the only thing I know is... next time in this state I will lose my license! I've never lost my license, but I've conveniently moved my family before I lost it. I'm waiting to hear on my last ticket in this state; that I forgot to show up to court, two times, what they are going to do.
@Mercyhealth the local police seem to recognize this car and associate it with the hospital. I have a feeling that adds to the friendly smiles that I receive.
It could be the HRE p40 wheels though. They get a lot of stares.
@Superchargedman the good thing was I didn’t even ask for forgiveness the officer just let me off the hook catch and release style.
@Mercyhealth thanks, in my earlier days of practice, I may have used a similar line...in my old civic. This car hasn’t seen the 5.0 under my ownership.
@JDPorscheGuy you should have kept the turbo. My 08 was caught going 2+ times the speed limit in Covid times. I’m a doc so the policeman thanked me for my service, asked me to go a little slower then let me go on my way unscathed.
@JDPorscheGuy thanks, there are no nits to pick with this car. The additional HRE p40 forged wheels make this an unbeatable, nearly flawless car, and that’s coming from an OCD MD. Thanks for looking.
@Superchargedman Good Luck selling that beauty! Don't let the nitpickers get to you. Those are generally not the ones buying anyway.
@JDPorscheGuy thanks for your comment. I agree, it’s a breathtaking driving experience.
I had the same car Blk/Blk except I think mine was an 08, but that car was beautiful and nasty fast. Still to this day we talk about how that would take off like a crotch-rocket! You can really boost the turbos on the generation and it's insane. I wish I still had mine. One of those... I wish I still had moments and I've had A LOT of cars, but that one was particularly fun. Oh, I remember one night going back to my office and there were no cars on the road. I got-on-it at a red light and of course, there was a cop sitting right there out of site, the cop told me that was the fastest he'd ever seen my radar gun jump! then gave me a ticket, DICK! the fine is worth having the story is the way I see it.
I have HRE P40 silver 20 inch forged wheels with Porsche crest center caps, which are extra. However, they can be potentially included with the car at a significantly discounted rate. Thanks for looking.

@Superchargedman just providing a quick update that the most recent odometer reading is approaching 25,900 miles, to date.
@panton no, there is no warranty on the car.
Is there any extended warranty remaining?
@panton no, it has never seen a race track. I cannot stress how well it has been cared for.
@Superchargedman Are far as you know has the car seen any track time?
@panton excellent. That’s my hometown. I can recommend some good enclosed trailer companies to help with transport to Toronto if you like. Thanks.
Thanks. I'm in toronto
@panton yes, it is in Calgary, parked at the hospital with me today.
@Superchargedman Thanks. Is the car located in Calgary?
@panton I just checked. Rear tires are approximately 60-70%. On a US penny, the tread allows for the tire to cover Lincoln’s upside down head all the way to his jaw.
Front tires are approximately 60%. On a US penny, the tire tread allows for the tire to cover Lincoln’s ear.
Tons of life. These tires have lived a relatively easy life. Thanks very much.
@panton thanks for your inquiry. The PPI performed in March 2020, just before the major service, raised no concerns about tire tread depth. I will check them myself and update with an estimate. Thanks.
How much tread is left on the tires?
@Mercyhealth thanks very much for your feedback. I absolutely agree. Last of the manual turbo Mezger engines, with no overrevs nor track time, along with the lowest miles I’ve seen on a turbo of this vintage, makes this a winner. I’m hunting my unicorn car, so I need the garage room. Otherwise this would stay in my fleet for life.
If you are a person who loves Porsches then you must take a look at the 997 turbo. The gen one of this 991 body model with its Mezger power plant is fabulous. Once you feel the torque from 2nd to 3rd you will be enlightened. Black on black is classic and will always remain valuable. Happy hunting!
@mredeker thanks for your inquiry. This car is originally from the USA. Please see the following link:
https://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/importing-car
Call up Porsche America with the VIN (1-800-PORSCHE) and tell them you're importing the car from Canada to the US, and you need a Safety and Compliance/Import Letter. They'll send it to you in about 7 days (and it's FREE!).
Happy to also recommend a freight forwarder / shipping company, if need be. I can provide further details, as this is very straight forward and well documented both by my contacts and many threads on rennlist, etc. Thanks for looking.
Any issue getting to US?

@Putttn my pleasure. It looks even better in the flesh. I do have an extra set of HRE P40 20 inch silver forged wheels that are not included, but they make this car really stand out and come to life.
Thanks for the update
@Putttn looking it over the only minor flaw I see in the front bumper is a very minimal scratch just above the front vent, likely from someone walking too close to the car. Otherwise, this is very clean.
@Putttn the pictures are very reflective of the paint quality. There are only minor swirls. I don’t appreciate any significant rock chips peppering the front bumper or the rear arches. There are only minor signs of mild wear and driving, given the age. I would emphasize that this is very minor in my opinion. It gets regular waxing and cleaning from me, and every time I go over it, I am amazed I don’t see any big dings or chips. Most of my driving is on the clean mountain highways, so that’s likely why it’s so clean.
If no paint protection what extent are rock chips blemishes?
@Putttn Hi, thanks for your message. It has excellent paint quality, as evidenced in the photos. I was amazed it does not have paint protection film, given the way it shines, as is apparent in the photos and videos. It does have the vinyl decals that have helped, and it also has the factory rear wheel arch guards. Thanks for considering this beautiful example.
Paint protection?
