Now available for auction is this after 2007 Porsche 997 GT3 RS finished in Black with contrasting RS graphics in Orange. Reported to be one of approximately 1,100 examples built in 2007, this first-generation 997 GT3 RS remains one of the most sought after modern Porsche's on the road. Equipped with a coveted 3.6 L flat six Mezger engine as well as exclusive factory options including a full Black leather interior with deviated stitching and carbon fiber trim, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and Chrono Package Plus, this 997 commanded an original sticker price of over $147k. It is now being offered in great overall condition by its seller in Illinois while showing under 22k miles on the odometer.
This 997 is presented in Black with Orange RS graphics and contrasting accents on the mirrors and spoiler fins. The paint is said to be in very good overall condition with some minor swirls and road going wear as well as a chip in the passenger quarter panel (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Sharing the basic platform of the Carrera 4 model, the body of this RS measures 2.5” wider at the rear compared to a standard GT3. Adding further distinction to this range-topping 997 are revised front and rear facias, a large carbon fiber rear wing and Yellow PCCB brake calipers situated behind Orange-painted GT3 wheels. A small imperfection can be seen on the front driver’s side rim and these wheels come dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires dated from 2010.
Inside, this RS features a Black full leather interior with deviated Orange stitching throughout the cabin. Exclusive options include the carbon fiber interior package, a rear center console in carbon fiber, illuminated door entry guards in carbon fiber, Porsche Communication Management (PCM 2.1), Chrono Package Plus and Bi-Xenon headlights. All gauges and accessories are reported to be fully functional and the interior is indicated to remain in very nice shape.
This GT3 RS is powered by a legendary 3.6 L flat-six Mezger engine rated 409 HP. With a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels, this RS is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.1 seconds. Optional PCCB ceramic composite brakes also offer consistent stopping power throughout the most demanding driving conditions. Carfax shows a preemptive 40k mile service done through an authorized Porsche dealership at 15,409 miles and the seller has confirmed this 997 to be in fantastic driving condition. Was it an option to get Light Weight Carbon Buckets (LWCB's) in the 997.1 GT3 RS? I've yet to see one and am starting to believe they weren't available.

@switchcars I can't confirm for sure but we believe the client we got it from put the steering wheel on aftermarket and colored the dials.

Could you shed some light as to why the steering wheel is from a 997.2 RS and the gauge cluster is yellow? Were the dials just recolored or was the gauge cluster swapped out?
