Now available is this 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera S finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a Black leather interior. This Carrera S has received an engine rebuild in 2021 at a cost of over $20k with upgraded internals, and has been modified with an IPD intake plenum, a GT3 throttle body, a Fabspeed carbon fiber cold air intake, a full Tubi exhaust system, a SPEC Stage 2+ clutch, FUCHS flywheel, Eibach lowering springs with Bilstein Damptronic shocks, a 3rd radiator, and a duckbill rear spoiler. It was factory optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the Sport Chrono Package, 14-way power-adjustable seats, and the Bose audio package. Showing approximately 90k miles on the odometer and only 2k on the rebuilt engine, this modified 997 Carrera S is now offered out of Louisiana.
This 997 was specified in Basalt Black Metallic (Z4) contrasted by red brake calipers. The seller reports the front bumper was refinished due to road-going wear, as well as the rear bumper and decklid that have also been repainted due to damage suffered during transport in an enclosed trailer. The seller reports the exterior has recently been paint-corrected and ceramic coated. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Exterior equipment includes mesh front grilles, bi-xenon headlights, smoked LED parking lights, a duckbill spoiler, and optional 19” Turbo wheels, which are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires in the front with around 50% life remaining, and Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires in the rear with about 80% tread remaining. The seller reports this 997 to have been used at two D.E. events in the past.
The interior is upholstered in black leather, featuring 14-way power-adjustable seats, a Sport Chrono dial mounted on the dashboard, a JVC double din head unit with Apple Carplay, a reverse camera, LED interior lighting, and new floor mats with red Porsche logos. All interior functions are said to operate as they should, and the interior is reported to be in good condition with minor wear and blemishes throughout.
The 3.8L flat-six has been professionally rebuilt to include upgraded pistons and an upgraded crankshaft in addition to an IPD intake plenum, a GT3 throttle body, Fabspeed carbon fiber cold air intake, a third radiator, and a full Tubi exhaust system. The 6-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels and has been fitted with a SPEC Stage 2+ clutch and FUCHS flywheel. The suspension has been modified with Eibach lowering springs and Bilstein Damptronic shocks that work in conjunction with the factory PASM system. Detailed documentation of the engine rebuild and regular maintenance are available in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title (lien).

Looks like I get to keep it, lol! Not a problem at all, it gets great smiles per gallon. :-)
Bid in the amount of $36,000
@CYCESQ there was a warranty throughout the break-in period but it has expired as I've put a few thousand miles on it since.
Bid in the amount of $35,000
Good morning, beautiful car. I did not see the question asked in the comments, but apologize if I missed it. Is there any warranty on the engine rebuild?

@Mongoosedoc sorry, no heated seats.
Maybe the tune doesn’t add that much because this car has sports chrono. On mine with no available sports chrono it made a lot of difference specially down low with torque, It is the small 3.4
With cable throttle.
Heated seats?
@luis.seneriz I asked, lol! He said it wouldn’t do much performance wise so I passed.
@Focuts It has purple, blue and dark green flake, more visible when you get close.

Surprise that vinnie didn’t convince the seller to put an Apr tune on it. I have one on my early 99 996 and it’s probably the best $700 I spent on the car. Anyway I see value in this car. I recently bought a turbo but I really enjoy natural aspirated engines. I’ll bid on it.
Came across this on my phone and got excited thinking it was a dark, metallic green color. Are my eyes getting that bad or is there a green hue in the white room photos? Gorgeous 911 still and great photos. GLWTA!
@Quackbury Sorry my comments seem vague to you. I’ll try to answer your questions and hope that they meet your satisfaction sir. I’m sure you’ll let me know if not, lol!
Engine failed at a DE track event, wasn’t a shift or IMS issue. Was at 5,500k RPM going through S turns, low oil pressure light flashed and immediately died.
I wouldn’t put a turbo on it personally but outlining the fact that the builder is confident in his rebuilds and that it can take a turbo now with no problem.
Had an alignment issue on rear and it wore the tires unevenly, but didn’t feel the need to replace all 4 since the fronts were good so I just bought the Michelins for the back.
I never planned to sell the vehicle when I bought it so I didn’t keep OEM parts that I upgraded and didn’t keep all receipts of parts, but had all work and parts installed by professionals and have record of that.
Do you want me to lie and tell you how many HP I think it added when I installed the intake, plenum and throttle body? If not, then you just have to settle with my peppy comment or come drive it.
Ask a question, bid on it or don’t. ????? Either way, have a great day and try not to be such a douchebag.
There is so much to like about this 997. But also a lot of questions and a seller who is being extraordinarily vague either accidentally or on purpose.
What "internal failure" grenaded the motor? Money shift? IMS? Oiling issue? Something else? If you were spending $20k on a rebuilt wouldnt you want to know exactly what went wrong?
If you added an aftermarket spoiler wouldn't you keep the receipt and be able to figure out who the vendor was?
Who puts mismatched rubber (tread patterns, compounds, and likely tread depth on the different axles? Particularly on a rear- engined car? What was the reason? Found a used set on ebay and said "these will do".
Why would you consider adding a turbo to a 997 you'd just spent $20K rebuilding?
There's a lot here that just doesn't add up, and when a buyer asks a legit question gets answers like "it's peppy" "it pulls hard and sounds great" one senses the seller either isn't a serial P car enthusiast, or he's being evasive. I suspect the final price will reflect that.
Cold Start

@sportscarguy3 I bet that GT3 was a beast! The cold air intake coupled with the IPD plenum and GT3 TB woke it up for sure. Don’t know what it equates to on paper but it’s sounds mean past 4k and feels more peppy for sure.
@M3tro81 IMS was updated before I bought it, engine builder confirmed it was new IMS design. Nickel plating done by same vendor that LN engineering uses. Engine is definitely bulletproof now. Builder states a turbo can be added, I believe he has a kit for it but I didn’t even ask. I’ve spent enough money on it already, lol!
@caneiroc sorry, don’t recall the seller but body/paint shop did a great job with installation and matching the black basalt.
Seller, Appreciate your prompt reply to my IMS question
I owned a 2005 Carrera S and 2010 GT 3, great cars both now looking to get back to 997
Also had the Fab-Speed cold air intake, it made a substantial difference for me
Didn’t see in the rebuild receipt a mention of IMS bearing, which brand did you go with for the replacement? Assume the rebuild was prompted by bore scoring, nice choice for the nickel plated cylinders sleeves, bore scoring will no longer be an issue for this beast! Definitely something that I would be getting out on track for DEs and never be concerned about the motor, ever. Given the nice rebuild on the motor and has clearly been well-maintained, this should do quite well. GLWA!
Bid in the amount of $31,000
@eansavoy it would depend on who made the spoiler and how it looks in person. Do you happen to know who you bought it from online some are better quality than others
@caneiroc bought the fiberglass ducktail spoiler new online and had it fitted/prepped/painted by local reputable body shop. I don’t have OEM spoiler. Would you really put that back on over this tail? Lol!
Who makes the rear spoiler? Does original wing come with car
@sportscarguy3 IMS has been taken care of, not an issue. DE is driver education on track event with an instructor. Do not have a DME, new motor has 2k miles but DME would most likely show lifetime miles so not sure how accurate it would be. I’ll try to get some videos soon. Cold start and revs sound great!
Good looking 997 for sure
Please refresh my memory whether the 2007 997 have an IMS bearing issue or not
What is a DE event
Do you have a DME report
How about some videos please. Cold start, warm engine revs. Let’s hear that Tubi exhaust
@marcromano have not put it on a dyno but it pulls hard and sounds great. Full intake and exhaust.
@Cannonball1968 not sure
Seller. What's the bhp and torque now with the engine mod? I'm assuming there's little change from stock performance.
@Cannonball1968 it probably will but if it doesn’t, just register it out of state. Plus will save you on registration fees.
Any idea if this will pass California smog? Beautiful car, by the way.
@zollerm internal failure
@eansavoy Sir, why was the engine rebuilt? Thanks
Hey everyone! I'm sure I'll regret selling down the road but need the space in the garage and the kids are harassing me for toys with motors and wheels, lol! I've taken great care of her and all maintenance, upgrades and professional rebuild documentation are available to bidders! Happy to answer any questions and provide additional info/videos if needed. Happy bidding!
@8KaboveMSL I do not have the OEM intake.
Bid in the amount of $30,000
@seller does the original OEM air intake come w/ the car?
