@ijustreally This is a great question. The swap can be done when you receive the car, prior to registering the vehicle in your state. We followed a similar process when shipping a 997.2 GT3 RS previously. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help answer!

  • ijustreally (registered bidder) 2 months, 4 weeksago

@seller thanks for the reply! One further question regarding US import. Is the gauge face conversion to MPH required to be completed at the time of transport, and part of the customs/duty process? Not familiar with the general timeline and order of events here. Assuming the car already has the requisite compliance otherwise. Any insight would be helpful!

@93CarreraCowboy We have no info on this reported mechanical issue, and our client nor the previous selling dealer do not either. As everyone in Canada uses the Canadian Carfax (Carfax.ca), we did not know about this entry until we received the US counterpart when we listed the vehicle. Sometimes there are discrepancies between the Canadian and US Carfax databases. Hope this helps! Let us know if there is any further questions we can help with.

@ijustreally Thank you for bringing up this point. It is our mistake for missing this detail in the listing. Our client mentioned it to us but it got dropped during the drafting process and was unfortunately lost in translation.

To clarify, the spoiler button isn’t working because it’s been disconnected. The rams do not leak, but the owner never attempted to reconnect the system as it’s a known issue. He purchased an adjustable fixed ram kit to address the situation but never installed it. This kit will be included with the sale.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions or need further information. Thank you for understanding! We will have this updated in the listing.

    @seller

The carfax (non Canadian) states that there was a mechanical issue reported and the car had to be towed in both 2017 & 2018.
Would you mind elaborating on what happened there if you happen to know?

    Thank you in advance!

@titans99 Thank you for your comment! We appreciate the value of the DME report for maximizing the sale price of a vehicle. With the holidays and the new year coinciding with the listing, as well as winter weather (heavy salt and snow on the roads), it’s challenging to get the car out of storage and to a Porsche dealer. Unfortunately it does not seem like it will get any better within the next day prior to auction end. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with. Thank you!

  • titans99 (registered bidder) 2 months, 4 weeksago

DME reports are most definitely relevant if you wish to get top dollar for a beautiful car like this. If you aren’t concerned about sale price, then it might not be relevant.

@MaikoR The car is completely stock in terms of power, exhaust, and tune. Preventative maintenance included upgraded shifter cables for more precise shifts, replacing motor mounts for better driving feel, and updating diverter valves due to age. These were all done during the clutch replacement. Our client's focus with all of the work completed has simply been maintaining reliability and preserving the car's factory performance. Hope this helps!

  • autosportclassic (seller) 3 monthsago

@Miked2020 We are trying to get the DME report but we may not make it in time before the auction ends, as the car is stored inside and it is winter. That being said, the Mezger is a GT1 race-derived engine built for endurance, and DME reports are not generally considered too relevant for this motor. An incredibly well maintained example like this speaks for itself. Please let us know if you have any further questions! We will try our best to get this report.

What sexy beast seen this car in person. Very well maintained.

  • autosportclassic (seller) 3 monthsago

@Fjm Yes, the hood has been resprayed due to rock chips. Regarding winter driving, our client has never taken the vehicle out during winter, however, we cannot speak for the previous owners.

Regarding highway driving, the car has not been driven much by the current owner. The previous owner of 14 years may have done so, but that is all of the information we have. We really hope this helps! This is a very well maintained and looked after example, serviced and ready to go to a new home!

Has there been any paint work to the car?
Was the car ever driven in the winter?
Do you know if the car was driven on the Highway for a lot?
    Thanks
