Among the rarest versions of the Porsche 997, the Targa model was offered in an all-wheel-drive configuration only and features a unique sliding glass roof system with an opening rear hatch. Finished in Carrara White over Sand Beige upholstery, this 2007 Targa 4S pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six. It was also configured with the Sport Exhaust System, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose High-End Sound Package, and more. Showing just under 60k miles on the odometer, this Targa 4S is now available for auction by its seller out of Iowa.
This 997 comes finished in Carrara White and is distinguished by a Targa-specific chrome accent below the roofline. Equipment includes fog lights, quad exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. A set of 19” Turbo wheels have been fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2020. The seller notes minor signs of road wear, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is welcomed by Sand Beige standard upholstery. The Targa top system includes a full-size sliding glass roof, an opening rear hatch, a power-operated sunshade, and a glass wind deflector strip that automatically raises into place. Options include a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and a remote 6-disc CD changer. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
This first-generation 997 is equipped with a 3.8-liter flat-six engine that produces up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in less than 5 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono Package Plus adds an engine Sport mode button and a stiffer Sport Plus setting for Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The seller adds that a recent oil change was performed, and the CARFAX report shows 14 service history entries.
This sale will include a clean title, two keys, owner’s manuals, and a toolkit.

@Stevie829 The 06-08 cars had the upgraded IMS that was not servicable without cracking open the case. The only cars you'll see with replaced IMS bearings these years, will be cars that have received a motor rebuild.

As we come to a close I want to point out a few things of note for potential parties. Before I got this car it had an appointment at Porsche of Stratham, NH where it received: New Battery, battery cable and PCV Valve. Coil Packs, Coolant Expansion tank, rear glass struts, oil and filter change, and received its yearly inspection for the state. That was February of 2024 and has seen about 1,000 miles since that service. As it sits, all buttons and switches operate as they should, clutch pedal feels great and it shifts in and out of gears nice and crisp.
Interior is free of large wear, overall is very nice. The exterior paint is very clean but has some minor rock chips which I have just uploaded into the gallery. Underneath the front chin you will find a couple scrape marks (also show in gallery) but nothing you can see unless you are on the ground.
This is a wonderful Targa 4S do not miss your chance to own it!

@Stevie829 This would have the original in it, but 2007 has significantly lower failure rates than the 996 "M96" motors. This is the larger non-serviceable bearing. No signs of issues from this car on that front.
Thanks

@cliffpccar You will have to become a bidder in order to reach out. Thanks
@targahawk thank you for your quick reply. I did, but the system won’t let me write a note to you unless I register and bid.
@cliffpcar please refer to the contact seller button so you can ask your questions, they come straight to me. Thanks!
I want to possibly bid on this car but according to the platform, I can only ask questions if I register and bid. I don’t want to bid until I can ask some questions and get them answered by the seller. Can someone please help. Thanks

Is it possible to see undercarriage photos? Thank you, David
@Azguy238 no problem, let me know if you have any other questions!
@targahawk; Sorry, I see the build sheet with XLF included.
@targahawk; are you sure about that "sport" button.? On my car that button only activates the sport suspension. Do you have a window sticker or factory build sheet for your car?
I just uploaded the Build sheet, as well as the DME report for the car. Please see those in the gallery.
Thanks!

@Azguy28 The Sport Exhaust System will be activated when pressing the "Sport" Button just below the climate control functions.
@targahawk; lovely car! How is the "sport exhaust" activated? I don't see a button with the usual two exhaust pipes.
