The Porsche 997 Targa was the last to feature a sliding glass roof system and an opening rear hatch. This 2007 Targa 4S is finished in Carrara White over a Sand Beige leather interior, features a 6-speed manual transmission mated to its 3.8-liter flat-six engine, and was optioned to an original sticker price of over $114k, including the Power Seat Package, Sport Chrono Package Plus, the Bose High-End Sound Package, the Sport Exhaust System, and more. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this 997 is now being offered for auction once again by its seller out of Louisiana showing approximately 49k miles on the odometer.

The 997 Targa features a convertible hardtop system with a sliding glass roof panel, an opening rear hatch window, a retractable sunshade, and a unique chrome accent along the roofline. Red brake calipers and quad exhaust tips further distinguish the top-range 4S variant. This example is finished in Carrara White and rides on 19” Turbo wheels. The seller notes that Porsche-scripted side stripes have been added, and the taillights have been tinted. The CARFAX report lists an accident occurring in September 2013 and two entries in January 2018 detailing an accident and the subsequent total loss declaration. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is upholstered in Sand Beige full leather with matching floor mats, and features optional heated front seats, a leather-wrapped three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, Sport Chrono Package Plus, the Parking Assist System, a module for telephone PCM, navigation, the Bose High End Sound Package, and a remote 6-disc CD changer. Additional options include the rear center console, steering column, and door finishers in leather, as well as an aluminum footrest, and the Targa top system consists of a sliding glass roof and an opening rear hatch window as well as a power-operated sunshade and a glass wind deflector strip which automatically raises into place.

Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine, the Targa 4S sends up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft. of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achievable in approximately 4.5 seconds, and the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus allows the driver to optimize performance characteristics while providing additional data through the PCM system. The seller reports that they have fitted new struts.

This sale will include a window sticker, an air pump, and a branded title.

The seller would like you to know: “The car is in good working condition. When the car was transported from Florida to California the battery was disconnected for safety reasons. When the car was registered in California, the car defaulted to KM. The owner found out about this a few days later and rectified the problem legally at the DMV. I have the original email explaining this.”

The inspection notes a one inch tear in the passenger seat. I didn't see it in the photos. Do you have a photo of that?

Does the Targa roof operate normally, and we need to see some borescope check of the cylinder liners if possible.

@NineNine6or7 Thank you , I will do my best to send you that soon

  • NineNine6or7 (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

Where is the PPI report? I only see a 5-star rating screenshot of it, but not the report itself. Do you know if the PPI included a bore scope to check for cylinder scoring?
Can you provide a cold start video please (car off ideally for 12+ hours, show temp gauge once key is in first click ACC position but not yet started, then place camera to show both exhaust tips at the same time as close as possible and at that point start the car so that viewer can see presence or lack of smoke)
    Any oil analysis done recently?
The reason for these last requests is that this year 911 (unless a turbo or gt3) has a concerningly high risk of cylinder scoring because of the material Porsche used to coat the cylinders. Thank you.

You can buy with confidence. My profession does not allow for anything else than dignity and respect
The car is on sale due to recent property inheritance that needs remodeling. I hardly ever use the car and since purchased in 07/21, I have only driven 3000k or 1,000 mile/yr

  • Odeffer (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

I am sorry for the typos

  • Odeffer (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

Hello, I am here to answer any questions you may have about the car. Bear in mind that the car is in good working condition all everything is operational.
A ppi was performed and this is attached. The car was purchased by the prior owner at auction and the list of parts replaced are also attached. There was no impact to the frame during the accident. The rear driver side was impacted. The pics are available.
    Happy bidding and good luck
