We are pleased to present this 2007 Porsche 997 GT3 finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a Black Special Leather interior. Unveiled in 2006, the second generation of Porsche’s GT3 carried over the tried-and-true Mezger engine design and featured revised “zero lift” aerodynamics, increased power output, and a track-oriented Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) setup. This 2007 example was delivered new to Porsche of Oakland, California at an original sticker price over $117k with optional Adaptive Sport Seats, seatbelts in Guards Red, Porsche crested headrests, painted wheels, Alcantara gear lever trim, and a storage compartment lid with GT3 model designation. It has been further modified with a Sharkwerks cat-back exhaust system, upgraded Sharkwerks suspension, solid motor mounts, a single-mass lightweight flywheel, a Cup differential, and EVOMSIT performance software. This GT3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing just under 13k miles on the odometer.

This 997 was ordered in Meteor Grey Metallic (M7W) with exclusive wheels and center caps painted to match. Characteristic features of the GT3 include a model-specific front fascia with large air intakes and a front splitter, a fixed rear wing, and a rear bumper with air vents and a central exhaust outlet. The factory 19” GT3 wheels come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing date codes from 2021. The finish has been preserved with clear paint protection film applied over the front end, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Black Special Leather upholstery and Adaptive Sport Seats with Alcantara inserts, Guards Red seat belts, and Porsche crested headrests. Black leather with decorative stitching covers the dashboard and center console while Alcantara can be felt on the gear shifter, parking brake, and door panels. A complete list of factory options is provided below:

As much as 415 HP and 300 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with an upgraded Cup-spec limited-slip differential. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in approximately 4 seconds with a top speed north of 190 MPH. Standard performance features include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a lightweight aluminum trunk lid and door panels, and 13.78” vented and cross-drilled brake rotors paired with 6-piston calipers in front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. @Bruno911 to our knowledge it was at the time. Meter readings on this auction seem oddly high for original paint; I'd say it's a gauge calibration issue but the sunroof reads in the right range.

  • Bruno911 2 years, 8 monthsago

    @switchcars was paint original?

  • switchcars (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Sorry for last minute, but we have service records on this car going back a few years/to 8k miles. We've sold it a couple of times. Good car, or was last time we saw it.

@Madtown91 Unfortunately, we only have the service records of what we did and what can be seen on CarFax. Per my mechanic just now, upon a quick visual inspection, they do not appear to be modified and look to be original.

We had a couple of wear marks on the leather side bolsters of the seats massaged and rejuvenated. WE also had some sticky buttons fixed. There are no sticky button issues in the car now. It does seem that at some point in time, there was a roll cage as we ordered a new OEM rear carpet piece, as you noticed, to return it to the original look.

I do not consider myself a pro when it comes to paint and bodywork, so it is tough for me to say. The readings are consistent, and there are no areas reading in the 12-15+mils which would indicate an accident, big dent/bondo fix. It is very possible that someone, at some point in time, someone repainted it ( I don't believe this to be the case, though) or re-cleared it. If it was repainted, you would see signs of overspray and such, which we don't see, and I think you would have readings way higher than 7.5mils. I do represent that the car looks fantastic and is in excellent shape, as seen in the photos. Sorry, I can't provide more on this.

    I hope that all helps!

    K2- couple questions:
Do you have any service records from any of 6 previous owners? And have the coolant lines been pinned?
What was the extent of the “dye” work on the interior, and was the replacement of the rear carpet to cover a roll cage de-installation?
With your extensive experience, do you have any explanation for the higher paint readings on the non-ppf portion of the car? Are the higher numbers indicative of an entire car repaint? If not, are you representing that the paint looks fantastic and that there appears to be no work on it whatsoever?

    Beautiful vehicle!
    Thank you very much

Have the coolant lines been welded or pinned yet? Huge failure point on 997 GT3's and Turbos. Coolant lines went up on my turbo and it was $5k to have them welded.

Some tracks won't even let you on without this being done first.

@Konspore11 The most recent service records are attached as pictures below from Abaco Automotive, who are ex-Porsche Master Techs who went out and started their own shop.

I believe for the suspension, it was just RSS Adjustable end links

  • Konspore11 (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Any chance you can expand on the suspension modifications? Also, what was included in the most recent service?

  • K2Motorcars (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@jcbfff There is PPF on the full front of the car ( Front bumper, hood, front fenders), which is why you see the high readings there. I am unsure about the rest of the car. It was consistent, and there were no spots that ever indicated an accident or body filler, as you can see.

  • jcbfff (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

K2 I would guess that readings of 7.5 to 9+ indicate a repaint or is the throught that it's original? Thanks!

  • putter7 (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@K2Motorcars Thanks. I think the typical life span is 7-10 years, so was just checking.

  • K2Motorcars (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@putter7 I, unfortunately, do not. It has not yellowed in color if that is your concern.

  • putter7 (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Do you know when the paint protection film was installed?

  • switchcars (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@jbeinhor while it’s a great idea to ask for a rev report, it will not tell you whether or not it has been tracked. The range one on a GT3 does not record on the DME until 600 above redline, so you could track a car its whole life and as long as you don’t misshift you will not record any overrevs. This is unique to the GT3 and why the DME reports are not as helpful in determining past use.
They are a good tool they just won’t answer your question.

  • jbeinhor (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Hi — is there a rev report for the car? Trying to determine if there is evidence of it being tracked as well. Thanks!

  • K2Motorcars (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@PCAR and Bidders, we do indeed have the original exhaust to go with the car as well.

@DSchwartz This is one of the best sounding and driving Porsches in Manual I have had the pleasure of driving! The Sharkwerks exhaust is MEGA!

  • K2Motorcars (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@Bruno911 Unfortunately, I believe the K&N provides better air flow and air induction.

  • DSchwartz (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

What an awesome spec! I'm sure it sounds great with the intake and exhaust.

  • Bruno911 2 years, 9 monthsago

Wow, what a perfect 997.1 GT3. What is the purpose of the after after market airbox? That cone filter looks to have less surface area than the factory setup.

  • Silver930 (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

    Stunning !

  • K2Motorcars (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@KvN The car is cosmetically all original. We do not have the original exhaust or intake.

  • K2Motorcars (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago
