This 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera S Cabriolet pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six. Configured at an original MSRP of approximately $113k, it comes finished in Slate Grey Metallic over Black full leather and features heated front seats, the Power Seat Package, Sport Shifter, Bose High-End Sound Package, Sport Exhaust System, 19” Carrera Sport wheels, an aluminum gear shifter & footrest, and much more. Providing an exhilarating open-air driving experience and previously sold on PCARMARKET, this Cabriolet is now being offered for auction once again out of New York with under 83k miles showing on the odometer.

This Carrera S comes finished in Slate Grey Metallic with a black convertible soft top. Optional equipment includes Sport tailpipes, self-dimming mirrors, and 19” Carrera Sport wheels which have been refinished and fitted with new wheel center caps in 2021. It rides on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2020 driven approximately 10k miles. The seller has identified two minor paint imperfections, as well as some paint abrasion on the right rear wheel well. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage in December 2009 and April 2012.

Inside, the cabin is appointed in Black full leather with matching floor mats with Porsche lettering. Optional equipment includes the gear shifter & footrest in aluminum, the Power Seat Package, heated front seats, Porsche-crested headrests, a thicker steering wheel in leather, and a Sport Shifter. Other selections included the Bose High-End Sound Package and navigation for PCM. Standard equipment includes aluminum-look trim, a Sport steering wheel, and a Porsche Active Suspension Management button. The remote 6-disc CD changer is not working, although the single in-dash CD function is operable. The seller notes some imperfections in the leather seats and panels consistent with mileage, along with minor scratches on the passenger’s seat.

Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine generating as much as 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH can be achieved in less than 5 seconds with a top speed of over 180 MPH. The Sport Exhaust System and Sport Shifter were additionally opted for, while Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is equipped as standard including a Sport mode button. The seller adds that an 80k-mile service has been completed and some service documentation will accompany the sale.

This sale will include a clean title, some service documentation, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, one key, and an additional key capable of unlocking and starting the vehicle, albeit not yet coded.

The seller would like you to know: “I have absolutely loved owning this car.  The gearbox is tight and fun to row through the gears, the sport exhaust is just the perfect level of growl and the sport suspension makes a big difference in the twisties (wish there were more around here). I have been diligent with maintenance. I use a local, well-known shop and have pretty much had an open wallet policy with the car.  It got whatever it needed.  Everything works as designed.”

@KennyT Gotcha. Thanks I misread that you had it scoped during a PPI

  • KennyT (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@marmoset I took it to mean it wasn't something to be concerned about. After all, I went through with the purchase... Plus 3 years and 10,000 miles later, there was no change. Not sure you can say a car with 80k miles on it is seeing the "onset" of anything.

  • marmoset (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

@KennyT How is "light scuffing" not the onset of scoring? What did he mean by that?

@PetarVNik That would be most appreciated.

Hi @KennyT, thanks so much for the transparency regarding the condition of the engine! I may toss a bid in here over the coming days :)

@geoduder DME has been uploaded to PCar- should appear here soon

@PetarVNik When I bought the car in 2020, I had my shop look at the bores. They reported no scoring but a "slight scuffing" in #6. During the tune up last year, they looked again and reported no change from the 2020 inspection.
The car shows none of the symptoms associated with bore scoring- no smoke, no soot in either tailpipe and no excessive oil consumption.

Hello! I see the spark plugs were done on this 997 about 1500-2000 miles ago, back in 09 of 2022. Would you happen to know if the cylinders were boroscoped then to check for bore scoring? Thank you!

  • KennyT (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

I'm getting the DME tomorrow (Friday) morning. I am owners 4 and 5 (I originally had a lease). I have owned the car since July of 2020- please see photo 52 of the maintenance log listing all the receipts I have.

Checking in on DME. Also, you said “I have been diligent with maintenance. I use a local, well-known shop and have pretty much had an open wallet policy with the car. It got whatever it needed.” Is this from prior owner? I don’t see any service history from when you picked it up 9months ago. Can you post? Thanks!

Nice looking 997. Can you post DME pls? Thx!

Hello all and welcome to the auction of my 997. I am a 20+ year Porsche enthusiast, starting out with 2 993's but that was B.T. (before tuition). This car has been very fun to own but I just don't drive it enough so I'd like to pass it on to its next caretaker. I plan to pay close attention to the auction so feel free to ask any questions or make comments as you see fit. Thanks for having a look!
