The IMs bearing situation for Porsche 911’s is grossly overblown. This is fueled by the manufacturers of ImS replacement kits. The failure rate of the IMS bearing is less than 1percent. It is less than this if you monitor the situation by simply placing a magnet in your oil pan so your technician can determine if there are any metal shavings picked up by the magnet. Consult a top quality technician concerning this topic and he will disclose these facts to you.

@66911 No, Stock Shifter
Beautiful car. Has there been an aftermarket short-shifter installed? Thanks.
@Mirage08 The IMS bearing has not been inspected, that said, the single row IMS Bearing used in the 2000-2005 had an 8% failure rate, 2007 had the larger IMS bearing which resulted in a less then 1% failure rate. https://www.rennlist.com/how-tos/a/porsche-997-why-the-ims-bearing-issue-is-overblown-383755
