Optional equipment includes the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, red brake calipers, and stainless steel exhaust pipes. Other features comprise a speed-activated rear spoiler and an electric sliding sunroof. The seller notes a ding on the right rear corner. No track use has been reported and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted by Sand Beige standard leather upholstery. Optional appointments include Porsche-crested headrests, heated front seats, the Power Seat Package, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus adding a stopwatch dial atop the dashboard. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order with no warning lights present.
As much as 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels from a 3.6-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Carrera can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in less than 5 seconds while stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes paired with cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The CARFAX report shows a total of 22 service history records, and the seller adds that a host of service documentation will accompany the sale. The seller adds that the engine was inspected for bore scoring and no issues were found.
This sale will include a clean title and a collection of service history records.
The seller would like you to know: “The vehicle has been meticulously maintained with regular annual servicing and has never been tracked. It comes equipped with the Sport Chrono Package Plus and features striking red brake calipers. This car is truly stunning.”

Seriously pointless and uninformed question. The seller forgot to wipe down the chrome on the exhaust. 911 engines run rich. They just do, and oil doesn't show up as carbon on the chrome.
@brandywine tell it to your therapist. I want to know if it burns oil or not if I'm bidding.
Thanks, seller.

@nwGTS I'll add pictures, no soot
Bid in the amount of $39,500
@nwGTS questions like this are plain rude at the end of an auction. Just about any 997 that is driven has this and its completely normal
Can the seller comment about the soot build-up on the exhaust tips?

@b.flippo The DME is in the pictures
@siliev1991 ...but who in their right mind tracks a base Carrera? A simple DME report will eliminate any speculation either way.

Hi Seller, beautiful car. A few questions that I have:
-Curious as to why you have decided to sell after owning the car for such a short period of time
-To you knowledge, has the car been garaged over the course of its life? Any cracking rubber seals or faded black plastic?
-Any interior rattles?

@Dino356987, I dont think LN actually knows the failure rate as it is so low. If you read their exact words, they are clearly speculating. "The incidence of IMS failures in 2006-2008 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models with the M96 or M97 engine is very low. We would estimate about a 1% failure rate". In other words, they are just guessing. I think the failure rate is actually a lot lower as Porsche specific changed the design to address this problem.
@ZootFinster Here is some more information supporting that as well. A 2007 has 1% failure rate.
https://lnengineering.com/products/the-definitive-guide-and-faq-for-porsche-ims-bearings/my06-08-porsche-cayman-boxster-911-ims-bearing.html?limit=12#:~:text=How%20common%20is%20an%20IMS,M97%20engine%20is%20very%20low.
@ZootFinster I called and spoke with the Porsche Technician that has regularly maintained this particular vehicle. He said the IMS issue was at the highest risk from 1997-2005 with 8% of those cars having failures. After 2005 the risk for IMS issues dropped significantly and with regular maintenance there should be no issues.

Thank you
@michaelhahn car has 3 previous owners according to the carfax. With that in mind and being for sale by a dealer, not sure how it could be claimed that a 17 year old car with 3 previous owners has never been tracked, unless all previous owners were specifically contacted and asked to confirm.
Are you the sole owner of this car and do you have service records?
Gotta love that red & tan combination! Any info concerning preemptive remediation of potential IMS/RMS issues?
