Topping the Porsche 911 Carrera model range at the time, this 997 Carrera 4S Cabriolet was configured at an MSRP exceeding $117k. Finished in Slate Grey Metallic over a Black full leather interior, it features optional 19” Sport Design wheels, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Power Seat Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, Parking Assist System, and Exclusive options such as stainless steel exhaust pipes, a leather rear center console, a thicker steering wheel, and more. This C4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas with approximately 56k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to a standard Carrera, the all-wheel-drive 4S model sports wider wheels and fenders along with red-painted brake calipers. This 997 is finished in Slate Grey Metallic with a black convertible soft top. Optional equipment includes stainless steel exhaust pipes and 19” Sport Design wheels with colored Porsche-crested center caps and 5mm wheel spacers. A set of new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires have been fitted, and clear paint protection film has been applied. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting an accident in July 2009.
The cabin presents Black full leather upholstery with an Exclusive leather-wrapped thicker steering wheel and leather-wrapped rear center console. Additional options include the Power Seat Package, heated front seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, a remote 6-disc CD changer, and Black floor mats with Porsche lettering. The Parking Assist System, self-dimming mirrors, and a Sport Chrono Package Plus stopwatch dial were also selected. The seller notes an aftermarket audio and navigation system with microphones, a backup camera, and Bluetooth connectivity has been installed. Minor wear is noted on the seats and high-usage touchpoints.
A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional Sport Chrono Package Plus is equipped, and the Carrera 4S comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and 13” cross-drilled brake rotors with fixed 4-piston calipers at each corner. Recent maintenance is said to include replacing the spark plugs, engine mounts, coolant reservoir, driveshaft flex joint, rear main seal, and intermediate shaft seal, along with an evaporator repair. The CARFAX report lists 36 service history entries, and no outstanding maintenance items have been reported.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a car cover, a battery charger, and the original head unit.
The seller would like you to know: “I searched nationwide for this vehicle and found it with the help of my son, who is a PCA instructor. I purchased it in February of 2022 from a retired dentist who had owned it since approximately May of 2019. I have put only 8000 miles on it since then with one day on a track. I have had it maintained by Garagisti, one of the best European car mechanics in the Houston area. Recent work includes new spark plugs, engine mounts, coolant reservoir, driveshaft flex joint, rear main seal & intermediate shaft seal, and evaporator repair. Detailed inspection photos are available. This is a fantastic vehicle that deserves to be in the hands of a true Porsche enthusiast.”

@NLG There are many days I wish I had that 997 Carrera 4S Cab car back but my "Domestic CEO" has put an absolute limit on owning no more than two Porsches at a time! Right now, I'm having a lot of fun with my 1968 Porsche 912 Targa with 57k original miles in Bahama Yellow, and my Jake Raby engine 1976 Porsche 912E black on black sunroof coupe. Once again, good luck!
Beautiful car GLWS. I own an 04 996.2 c4S cab and a 2010 997.2 c4s cab, both are 6 speed & fantastic cars and lots of fun to drive. Whoever winds up with this beauty will love the experience of driving/owning it.
@TFisher Hey! Great to “meet” you. And thanks for the comment. The car is indeed terrific, and I’ve loved the wheels you put on it. The owner after you never took it out in the rain, and I have only taken it out on weekends (with the exception of one track day and one road trip to Kansas at speeds I won’t reveal here). It deserves an owner who will exercise it more regularly.
Just saw this listing and realized that I was the reported "third owner" of this car (Roswell, GA). During my ownership, the only thing I had to do was replace the battery. Otherwise, it was a fantastic car and a true thrill to drive. The wheels that are currently on the car were added by me and its original wheels were sold separately to the purchasing owner #4 from North Carolina. It was, without a doubt, the most beautiful Porsche I have ever owned and its performance was breath-taking. Good luck with the auction.

@rbrunson Hi, just talked to the guys at Garagisti. Their electronic check did not include a DME, but I can certainly take it back to them to have it done.
@GLH I have had the IMS seals replaced but no evidence that the IMS itself has ever been changed. My understanding is that most of the IMS issues one reads about were limited to model years before 2007, but that is anecdotal info only. Hope it helps.
Has the IMS been replaced? Thx
Part of the “c” is in fact missing. It broke off sometime in the last few weeks. Not sure how it happened (on the road, I presume, as it is almost always parked in my garage), and I haven’t had a chance to look into what it will take to replace it.
Beautiful car, Love the wheels. Is the Carrera badge on the rear discolored or is part of the C missing?

Thank you for the comment. The AC works hard down here but it does the job. And I just had the evaporator replaced a couple of months ago.
Also, regarding the earlier DME question, the recent inspection included an electronic diagnostic. No concerns noted, but I am checking to be sure it included DME.
Very nice car. Thank you for the inspection reports, Seller. Did the AC give you problems in the Houston heat?
Don’t have one, I’m afraid.
DME report?

@luis.seneriz Hi! I’m afraid I don’t know anything about the 2009 accident report beyond what you see in the CarMax report. I only know that the Hempstead Garagisti team has never found any evidence of damage. And I am happy to share the latest Garagisti report (will try to post it here). Unfortunately, I am mostly out of town until January 1 but would be happy to show you the car as soon as I’m back . Alternatively, I will be in Rice Village for part of the day this Friday; we might be able to arrange a meeting then?
@NLG. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Do you have any additional information about the car’s accident?. I’m here in Katy and I would definitely like to see the last inspection report on the car. The Garagisti inspection reports are pretty thorough with photos etc. I guess your car was Serviced at the Hempstead location. By the way this Saturday the Porsche club cars and Coffee is at that location. I maybe interested in seeing the car in Person. I have also taken one of my cars to the Garagisti but to the Katy Location on 99.

Hi, I’m Niel, the seller. Feel free to ask any questions you have. If you are interested, I am happy to send a recent detailed inspection report on this car. I also have a great recommendation for a shipper (the one I used when I brought the car to Texas a couple of years ago).
