Finished in Guards Red over black leather, this 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera Coupe has spent life in California’s Bay Area and was acquired by the seller after its original owner in 2012 with just over 6k miles. The car features a 6-speed manual transmission as well as factory optional heated seats, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, the Bose High-End Sound Package, stainless steel exhaust pipes, wheel spacers, and more. Showing just over 23k miles on the odometer, this 997 Carrera is now being offered for auction by its second owner out of California.
This Carrera comes finished in Guards Red and features optional Bi-Xenon headlights as well as exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes and 5mm spacers for the 19” Carrera Classic wheels. The car rides on a set of newer Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires showing about 7/32” of tread. The seller notes the car has always been garage kept and seldom driven in the rain, while the finish remains in very good condition overall with clear paint protection film covering the front bumper, forward hood, mirror caps, and ahead of the rear wheels. The seller notes that no modifications have been made to the vehicle. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The black standard leather interior features optional heated seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, self-dimming mirrors, and matching carpet floor mats. The front hood struts have been replaced and the seller confirms all accessories and instrumentation to be fully functional.
The naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission delivering up to 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Standard performance features include Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Active Brake Differential (ABD), hydraulic power steering, and 4-piston brake calipers with vented rotors front and rear. The car has been driven less than 2k miles per year on average by the current owner since 2012 and has been routinely serviced in two-year intervals. A new battery was installed in September of 2020 and the original brake pads retain about 7mm of material in front and 9mm in the rear.
This sale will include a clean title, a set of two keys, owner's manuals, service records, car covers, and the original window sticker.

@deanhaub Hey, no problem with Richard-2019. I'm sure he just wanted a bit more clarification since he doesn't have intimate knowledge of this model, and he didn't word his post effectively. I sense it was created in about a minute. Let's all be happy and happy bidding.
@Richard-2019 Very inappropriate. Suggest you apologize to the seller. he was very gracious in his apology to you.
glad that PCAR called out the totally inappropriate opinion on the bearing issue, which is really not news to anyone on this site. Gives me faith in the validity of this auction and the people monitoring it. thanks a lot. This is an excellent car with good history.
@bencool907 N,o there are no odors and the car has never been smoked in.
Are there any odors on the interior like smoke or chemicals? Looks like a nice car.
Folks let’s please keep the discussion pertaining to this particular car as we want the seller to have a fair and undistracted auction. The question has been asked and answered, as a side note the experts know that this is a non serviceable IMS (unlike the 996) with a Low failure rate. Further comments directed at the seller on IMS will be removed from this point on. Thank you.
@Richard-2019 First of all, I want to apologize to you for maybe being a little too direct. I am really a pretty nice guy. I misread your post and I’m afraid I may have over reacted. The IMS issue is up to the individual. There is a minor risk, and nothing is 100% certain. I have never worried about it as I am an optimist and 1% seems like a reasonable risk. Hope I didn't upset you too much. Have a great week. Sorry.
@Richard-2019 Seriously no one cares about you and your mechanic. Everyone here knows about the IMS Bering. Is it too much to ask to be polite ask if it’s been done and let the seller respond?
After consulting with my very experienced Porsche mechanic, he informs me that the dreaded IMS bearing is still an issue. While a smaller failure rate, not zero; so in my mind an issue to deal with. Please inform me and others on this issue. Beautiful car.

@deanhaub Thanks for the inquiry. The service records go back to 6000 miles when I first purchased the car. The CARFAX gleans a few more service entries. The car has never had anything repainted. I presume you viewed the paint meter readings. Paint is fantastic.
How far back are the service records?
has the car ever been repainted or touched up?
@SuperDave Fantastic! I will try to drop by!
