Finished in Speed Yellow over Black full leather upholstery, this 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S features a desirable 6-speed manual transmission paired with its mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six engine. Factory options include Sport Seats, the Preferred Package, automatic climate control, and more. Reportedly owned by the same family from 2008 until its recent acquisition by the selling dealer, this Cayman S is now being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania with approximately 26k miles showing on the odometer.
This 987 is finished in Speed Yellow. The “S” model can be differentiated from the standard Cayman by its red brake calipers and dual-tipped central exhaust outlet. Equipped with the Preferred Package, it also includes the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, self-dimming mirrors with a rain sensor, and colored Porsche-crested wheel center caps. The car rides on 18” Cayman S wheels mounted with new Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires. A recent ceramic coating was applied, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black full leather interior features optional Sport Seats, a leather-wrapped Sport steering wheel, and automatic climate control. Additionally, the Preferred Package includes power-adjustable and heated seats, the Bose Surround Sound System, a CD changer, and interior-colored floor mats. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be in proper working order.
Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six engine factory-rated at 295 HP and 251 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission delivers power to the rear wheels, enabling 0–60 MPH acceleration in approximately 5 seconds. Recent maintenance is said to include a brake fluid flush, oil change, and replacement of the cabin and air filters. A total of 18 service history entries are documented on the CARFAX report.
This sale will include a clean title and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
The seller would like you to know: “We’re proud to offer this 2006 Porsche Cayman S — a stock, unmodified example finished in Speed Yellow over Black with a 6-speed manual and just 26,000 miles from new. This car has a great story. It was purchased by a husband and wife in 2008 when it had just 6,000 miles on it — nearly new at the time — and it’s been in their family ever since. For the past 17 years, it’s lived a quiet, garage-kept life as their weekend driver, used sparingly and always maintained with care. You can tell immediately that this car was loved and never taken for granted. Now that the couple is moving into a more practical chapter of life, they’ve decided it’s time for someone else to enjoy the Cayman the way they did. We’re excited to help find the next home for this clean and honest 987.1. In 2018, they added their son to the title for estate planning purposes, which caused the Carfax to show three owners. In reality, the car has stayed in the same family! If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to reach out. Thanks for checking it out — and good luck bidding!”

@PAEuros Hello Christian - Thank you so very much for taking the time to thoroughly provide answers to all of our questions. It is so helpful and pleasant to have such a cooperative and transparent seller such as yourself - much appreciated indeed. Please note that although I asked about the IMS and the borescope, for the sake of checking the boxes, I really have no concerns, and agree with the comments you formulated as well as @Bruno911. Beautiful car indeed and so tempted to get into the bidding action . . . Best - Rafael

Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to go through the listing! I will go through and answer your questions in a list format!
To answer your questions @RBJ1965 :
IMS Bearing: The IMS has not been replaced. As others have pointed out (shoutout to @Bruno911!), this isn’t a common failure point on the 987.1 platform.
Borescope: We have not performed a borescope due to the vehicle’s low mileage and lack of any audible or visual indicators. As seen in the video, there are no signs of bore scoring. Car runs strong and sounds great!
Leaks: The car is dry — no signs of coolant, oil, or fluid leaks reflected in the underbody photos. We also just completed an oil service as well.
A/C: Yes, the A/C is in good working condition. We also recharge A/C systems on outgoing cars to make sure they’re ready for the summer heat!
Brakes: The brakes are in good condition and show healthy life remaining. I’ll update with exact pad measurements shortly and can provide detailed photos.
Paint: The paint is original and meter readings are in the 4–5 mil range throughout. We’ll be uploading meter photos to confirm.
Functionality: Everything is functional — all buttons, features, and systems are currently operational.
Known Issues: There are no known issues with this Cayman S. It’s a clean, garage-kept, and well-maintained example from long-term ownership.
@Bruno911:
You’re absolutely right. There is a small gap in the service history shown on the Carfax, and it aligns with the period when the previous owner had started driving the car less frequently.
We recently performed an oil service here at our shop to ensure it’s ready to go for the next owner. The last recorded oil change on the Carfax was at 20,205 miles. Based on the condition of the oil and filter we removed, we believe an oil change may have been done in between, but since there’s no formal record of it, we can’t say for certain.
Happy to provide any other details you’d like — appreciate the question!
Let me know if you’d like anything specific photographed or clarified — happy to help however I can. Thanks again for taking the time to look at our listing! We appreciate any and all questions.
Happy Bidding!

Can’t replace IMSB on Caymans without a complete engine tear down. It’s not really a point of concern On these cars. Bore scoring is the real issue, but doubtful to be present already at these low miles, though one can never be sure.
Carfax shows no service history since last ownership change In 2018. Are there any service records available?
Beautiful car and seems to be in great condition.
Can you please let me know:
Not really worried, but has the IMS bearing been replaced?
Has a cylinder bore scope been done?
Any coolant / oil and or other leaks?
AC in good working condition?
Condition of brake pads?
Assume paint is all original.
Everything functional in this car?
Any known issues?
Thank you in advance, really appreciate your kind help.

This is a fine example in a great spec. Last we looked there were ZERO 987 Cayman S Speed Yellow cars on the market. This one being one of the lower mileage examples to boot!
Great example and the new owner will not be disappointed in its genuine originality.
