This 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S was modified as a track car by Berg Racing and DeMan Motorsport under original ownership. Finished in Guards Red, it features a GT3-style nose, carbon fiber mirror caps, an adjustable rear wing, 18” CCW forged wheels, a roll cage, OMP racing seats, Schroth safety harnesses, a fire suppression system, a Racing Dynamics short-shift kit, a MOMO steering wheel, an AiM digital dashboard, headers, a TechArt exhaust, a single-mass flywheel, a racing clutch, and Moton remote reservoir shocks. Showcasing high-end upgrades and modifications installed at a cost of over $150k, this Cayman S track car is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey with approximately 8k miles on the odometer.
This Cayman S came factory-finished in Guards Red and equipped with optional bi-xenon headlamps. It has been modified with a GT3-style front bumper and spoiler, carbon fiber mirror caps, carbon fiber side air intakes, an adjustable carbon fiber rear wind, and chrome Fabspeed exhaust tips. The car rides on 18” CCW C14 forged wheels dressed in Hoosier racing slicks. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin has been stripped for weight savings and fitted with an integrated roll cage, OMP racing seats, Schroth safety harnesses, a MOMO steering wheel, a Racing Dynamics short shifter, a fire suppression system, and an AiM digital dashboard.
The mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six engine was factory-rated at 295 HP and 251 lb-ft of torque. It has been modified with an aftermarket tune, headers, and a TechArt exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission with a single-mass flywheel and a racing clutch. The suspension has been upgraded with Moton remote reservoir shocks.
This Cayman S is offered with a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: “Track-ready Cayman S with tasteful and functional modifications. @Dhowe66 A fresh engine was installed in 2015 by DeMan Motorsports. Please see redacted purchase receipt from the NY-based company for the car. It does not show the IMS, just the whole car. Thanks.

@Temoc DeMan sold the car in 2015 to the owner, who recalls it had a fresh stock displacement engine installed, not a larger displacement one, which he is normally known for. It still looks new, see photos.
The receipt simply says, "2006 Cayman S race Car." Apparently, DeMan receipts are not one for many words. We will try to upload it.
Thanks for asking.

@motorcarmarketusa This car checks a lot of boxes for me as my HPDE addiction continues to grow. I am familiar with DeMan and their excellent work however unless I missed it I don't see any details that this is a DeMan engine or that DeMan performed any engine work?
@dotr The owner bought it from DeMan complete as you see it. They are engine builders and nearly every car that he has ever prepared leaves with one of his engines. The owner never overrevved it, so we can confirm when the rev 6 event, if it actually happened, was prior to current ownership. This car has never raced, was used strictly on a private track for members. Please look up both DeMan Motorsports and Monticello Motor Club to understand.
We provided the DME report to provide full transparency and welcome you to see the car in person before you bid. Please let us know when you'd like to come, we are open M-F 9-5 in scenic Ramsey, NJ and will await your response. Thanks.
When and why was the engine replaced? After the rev 6 event?
@dotr Our local Porsche dealer technician who ran the report said he has seen odd anomalies come up, even on lightly driven cars, even with PDK. We won’t speculate an answer for you, other than what the printout shows.
To be clear, we know the current owner well and it has performed flawlessly, as the replacement DeMan engine runs excellent with no issues for the past few years.
How do you even get range 6 rev?
@Kians313 There is no race log as it was used at Monticello Motor Club for open track runs by the owner. It was never raced or put in a wheel to wheel situation. We have some maintenance receipts, but has been in indoor storage most of its life. No accident history, was a new car when it was converted to a track car. The DME was performed just last month, well after the engine rebuild.
Thanks for the questions, it helps the PCM community.
Great looking build and interested to know more.
Does the car have a race log?
Any prior maintenance documentation?
Noted on the recent bill there was coolant and water pump replacement, and well as rear axle rebuild. Does the car have any accident history?
Any detailed information on the DeMan engine work? And was the DME dated before or after the rebuild?
Thanks in advance and apologies for the 20q’s
The original owner bought it new and had it turned into a track car shortly thereafter. The mileage is original and the engine was gone over and installed by DeMan Motorsports about 500 miles ago. Full headers and exhaust can be seen in the photo gallery. No other mods, as the stock Cayman S power levels and reliability were retained.
Original engine and mileage? Any work other than the tune like oil cooling, etc?
