This 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S comes finished in Speed Yellow over Black upholstery and features a 6-speed manual transmission, an Exclusive aluminum gear shifter, heated front Sport Seats, and more. This example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee with approximately 89k miles on the odometer.
This 987 is finished in Speed Yellow and, as an "S" model, features red-painted brake calipers and a dual-tipped central exhaust outlet. It rides on factory 18” wheels with optional Porsche center crests. Modifications include black-finished mirror caps and side vents, along with a rear badge deletion. The seller notes much of the exterior has been professionally refinished. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage to the left rear in October 2011.
The cabin features Black upholstery including optional heated leather Sport Seats, an aluminum gear shifter, and matching front floor mats with Porsche lettering. The seller notes minor wear on the driver’s seat bolster. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly, although the TPMS warning light occasionally appears.
A mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 5 seconds and stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes paired with ventilated and cross-drilled discs at each corner. The CARFAX report shows a total of 18 service history records.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, and an air pump.
The seller would like you to know: “The 987 Caymans S is one of the most well-rounded and practical modern Porsches. By far one of my favorites. This example keeps it simple and pure performance with Sport Seats and stunning Speed Yellow.”

@Miles.S Beautiful paint job (and color of course).
In the final hours, please let me know of any requests or questions. Headliner photo uploaded. I have a buddy coming over with a computer to run a DME report, will get it up as soon as I have it.
Thanks again! Miles
Added some meter numbers. Entire car has been painted. Although, I do not know why since it was done prior to my ownership. The car came from California and I’m thinking it was done due to rock chips or paint fade. I’ve ran into that more often than not on these. Regardless, good paint work and shines up well.

@brax2u I can post a DME in the am. Clutch engages as it should and feels good and tight. Headliner was recently replaced and looks good. Can post some photos am as well.
Thanks! Miles
@julios1234 I have no record of cylinder scoping or and oil analysis. Has not any signs (audible or visible) of cylinder scoring. Typically you will see smoking or have the audible slap. Have not had any of that with this car. Drives strong as well!
Thanks, Miles
A DME report would be useful. Looks like the original clutch - how is the engagement? How’s the headliner? Thx.
Greetings. It looks fantastic. Do you know if the vehicle has had a bore scope in the past or recently ? I do understand the IMS for this ones is a very low risk, however bore scoring especially on the S models with the 3.4 motor I think is an issue. Thanks.
Yeah it would probably help to give a reason why (accident, rock chips, etc), which parts of the car, and provide paint meter
@nothinbutaGTVthang Most of the car has been repainted. Really good work done but just want buyers to know its not all original. I can try to get some meter readings uploaded today. Thanks! Miles
What does “much of the exterior has been refinished” mean exactly?
@nulswei02 Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The IMS bearing on 987s is not an issue. These have the larger IMS bearing which is not serviceable without tearing the engine down. However, they are also the most reliable having a very small to none failure rate.
Thanks! Miles
Hello!
Would you happen to know the status of the intermediate shaft bearing on your car's engine?
Thanks!
