@AirCooledLife PCA and PCNA are not the same thing. PCNA is Porsche Cars North America which leads me to believe that this car was a fleet car at some point.
Thank you for this
@automotiveartist I have no first hand knowledge, but there is a high probability this was either an auto show car or a press car. The first is a good thing. The second, not so good.
Looking at the Carfax, between June of 2012 and January 0f 2023, this car was only driven a total of 1,300 miles. If you trust Jake Raby, this sort of usage makes it a prime candidate for bore scoring. It also likely means many of the rubber seals have dried out. I'm really surprised that the owner would dismiss legitimate questions about bore scoring with "it doesn't smoke." I think any serious buyer wouuld want a bore scope done before pulling the trigger. Really surpreised the seller has not taken that step; it would almost certainly increase the hammer price significantly.

What is the history with the PCNA on the window sticker? Can please explain how the car was utilized . Thank you in advance.

IMS is not serviceable on these, but they rarely fail. Bore scoring on the other hand is a big gotcha. Fear of which can be mitigated by either a scope from the oil pan, or a simple oil analysis. Given the seller wants top dollar for this car (which is certainly their right), I’d recommend the seller performs one or both of these and includes them in the literature. Saying the car “doesn’t smoke” doesn’t cut it anymore. Not if you expect the price you posted last time.
Re-listed so soon?
@1falco Good afternoon. We do not have any record of IMS change. I will say this as a side note, The engine sounds great (as it should) and there is no smoke coming from it at any time. smooth idle as well.
I think part of my questions were answered below. Any ims info?
Any information on bore scoring or ims ?
@Yags Good morning. I wish I had a cool story to share but I don't know the specifics of that. My opinion is that the owner was involved in the PCA and went to events. The car is so nice that it merits being displayed at shows.
What’s the back story on this PCNA, was it a show car or executive demo?
@carnochan Good morning. We do not. Inspections are welcome though. Let me know if you have any questions.
Do you have an oil analysis report or bore scope of the cylinder walls from the bottom end?
