The 987 Porsche Cayman has earned acclaim for its impeccable balance and exhilarating driving dynamics, a testament to its mid-engine configuration. This 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black interior and pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine. It features the Sport Chronic Package Plus, the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, the Bose Surround Sound System, and more. This Cayman S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado showing just over 86k miles on the odometer.
Boasting a streamlined fastback design reminiscent of classic Porsche racing models, this Cayman is presented in Arctic Silver Metallic. The powder-coated 19” Carrera S wheels are coupled with Michelin Bridgestone Potenza tires from 2021 and 2023. Some touchup paint has been applied to the front and rear bumpers along with protective black stone guards on the rear quarters. The seller notes some signs of wear including rock chips and a scratch on the hood, and a crease on the driver's side rocker panel. The windshield was also replaced in November 2023. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black standard leather interior features heated front seats, a Sport steering wheel, and Porsche-branded floor mats in black. Amenities include the Bose Surround Sound System and the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package. The seller notes slight sagging of the headliner behind both seats and a minor scratch on the left side of the steering wheel divot. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly.
A naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine sends up to 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard features include an Active Brake Differential (ABD), a 4-piston monobloc brake system, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), variable-ratio power steering, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. The CARFAX report shows 22 service history records. The seller notes the vehicle underwent a dealer inspection in November 2023, had a wheel alignment performed in June 2023, a brake flush in May 2023, an oil and filter change service in April 2023, and an A/C recharge in May 2022. The seller also mentions that the windshield washer pump needs to be replaced, and the replacement part will be included with the car. Additionally, the driver-side door handle and Bowden cable are due for replacement.
The sale will include two keys, a toolkit, an air pump, a build sheet, quick reference manuals, and a clean title.

@mtncapster, this example is a first year Cayman S with both PASM (not to be confused with PSM) and Sport Chrono. PASM makes it a nice car for both road and track whereas the standard suspension models are a little sportier/rougher riding. Both options on one car are hard-ish to find, especially on the 987.2 cars from '09-'11. This is a great model to start and will provide a great Porsche sports car experience. You'll have to investigate the car and the few minor issues with Cayman/Boxsters of this ilk to know if this one is right for you. But I can tell you from first hand experience that these cars will ruin you for any other approachable/drivable/affordable sports car.

You can go on utube for various Forums on 986-987-997 generations on factory flaws, service intervals, known issues to address before they occur.
hope this helps
good luck
I want one of these but don't know much about them (I've seen what's basically online about what to watch for). So, seller or buyers in the know, what makes this one a good bet? (The lab report seems like a pretty strong recommendation.) Thanks. And you need to lower the reserve. 😬

In my opinion, there’s no better looking body style than the 987 Cayman and this one, in my favorite color silver, just makes it pop.

@TransaxleJoe Everything was inspected by dealer
Clutch pulls strong. It's good.
Hello, Looks good with those lobster claw wheels. Has the clutch been replaced and L M S service done?
Thank you.

@klx95 Have both 762 & 475
Build sheet should have been uploaded
Thx
Hello, I have the exactly same car with the same options and colour. Just curious, do you have the code option 762? If so that's mean it is a market launch or dealer demo car as mine. I also noticed that you mention the PASM as standard but it was an option a that time (Option code 475). Good luck for your auction. Thank you.
Welcome future cayman buyers to my auction. Will answer questions to the best of my ability.
Cheers & good luck
