Up for auction is this 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S finished in Arctic Silver Metallic. Debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, the original Cayman S offered performance to rival Porsche’s flagship 911 sports car with its mid-mounted 3.4L flat-six engine sending nearly 300 HP to the rear wheels. This 2006 example was ordered with a 6-speed manual transmission along with optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels, spoilers in aluminum-look, leather Sport Seats, the Bose Surround Sound System, and Custom Tailoring (special wishes that require further communication). A lifelong California car, this Cayman S has been recently fitted with a new clutch and is now being offered for auction showing approximately 65k miles on the odometer.
This Cayman S comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with red-painted brake calipers as standard on the S-model. Optional spoiler lips in aluminum-look were equipped from the factory and the optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels have been refinished in dark grey. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are dated from 2020 and were newly mounted within the last 2k miles. The seller describes the finish to be very presentable with minimal imperfections and signs of road-going, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to the rear-end in 2014.
The black interior comes with optional leather Sport Seats, automatic climate control, and an original Porsche CDR24 radio. Some wear is noted on the driver seat bolster and a complete list of factory options is provided below:
The mid-mounted 3.4L flat-six engine delivers up to 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The CARFAX report includes 6 maintenance records dating back to 2011, and a complete fluid service has been recently completed along with the installation of a new clutch within the last 500 miles.
This sale will include a clean title. Now is your chance to become the next owner of this generously optioned and very well-kept Cayman S, do not miss out.

@Dupla @155mph.
The entire car measures between 4-6.5 mils according to our paint meter. We are essentially sure that the hood has not been repainted.
Since the bumper front and rear bumpers are plastic there tends to be a slight variation in color against the painted metal panels. This is very common on silver and other metallic colors. There was only one incident that occurred, and is believed to have been minor cosmetic damage to the rear bumper. We have thoroughly inspected the car and there is no sign of prior accident damage.
The clutch was installed by us (CPR Classic) several months ago and the receipt will be included in the car's documentation to the new owner.
As mentioned before by a bidder this engine has a non-serviceable IMS Bearing. The car is 100% sorted mechanically and there are no issues with any of the electronics.
It's unfortunate the car sustained this minor incident several years ago as it truly presents in fantastic condition cosmetically.
Seller? Need answers.

Like 155MPH I would be interested to know if it's one accident or two. Also the hood looks different color shade from the rest of the car, can you provide paint meter readings? Thank you.
so, the minor damage listed in the Carfax. Is that one or two occasions of a minor damage that is reported? It is showing both in Oct 2015 and Jan 2015. Not available in either case to Carfax until 2018. So, any insight into those two Carfax reports? Any paint meter readings available for the car?

@TomBuddTX you cannot replace the IMS bearing on this model cayman/boxster/911.
It’s a fixed bearing.. a full motor tear down is the only way

Anything else not working properly?
Thanks!

Pretty car. In the pictures it looks like the front bumper and hood might have been repaired or repainted. Do you know which panels on the car are original paint?
