Offered exclusively for the 2006 model year as a prelude to the GTS model, the Titanium Edition features a lightweight aluminum hood, Titanium Metallic exterior accents, an aerodynamic body package, a sport-tuned suspension, painted alloy wheels, and special two-tone interior upholstery.  This 2006 example comes finished in Pure Red, a vibrant shade of red exclusive to the model. It also features an optional panoramic roof system, front seat heating, a heated steering wheel, and more. Further equipped with a host of overland modifications, this rare Titanium Edition Cayenne S is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of New Mexico.

This example features a Pure Red exterior finish. Standard equipment includes body-color extended rocker panels along with Titanium Metallic exterior trim, door handles, grille inserts, and roof rails. The Titanium Edition package adds chrome quad-tip sport tailpipes, rocker panel extensions, a lightweight aluminum hood, Bi-Xenon headlights, and a Titanium Metallic roof spoiler. Off-road modifications include a custom front bumper brush bar and skid plate, a roof rack, Hella headlights (4 ambers, 6 white), a roof rack, an 8” awning, and a Eurowise Performance 2” lift kit. Additionally, it has 18” Cayenne Turbo II wheels with 31” Pirelli Scorpion All-Terrain tires, and a matching spare tire on an aftermarket MiRack spare tire carrier. The seller notes the gas struts supporting the back hatch are failing and do not hold the weight below approximately 70°F. New struts are included with the sale, though they have not yet been installed. The rear window struts are functioning properly. Various scuffs and scratches have been identified as consistent with age and mileage, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage in July 2017 and February 2021.

The interior features special two-tone Black and Steel Grey leather upholstery with silver trim on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Equipment includes a panoramic roof system, Porsche-crested headrests, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and roll-up screens for the quarter windows. The seller installed a JVC KWM56BT head unit with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB audio support. The seller notes the factory 6-disc CD changer is incompatible with the system. An appropriate wiring harness ensures the OEM amplifiers and steering wheel audio controls remain functional. Signs of wear are present, including an approximately 1-1/2 inch tear in the leather on the rear fold-down center armrest.

This first-generation Cayenne S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.5L V8 engine producing up to 340 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque.  Standard features include a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, a full-time all-wheel-drive system, a low-range transfer case, a locking center differential, and a sport-tuned suspension. This example also came optioned with Variable Assist Power Steering for improved maneuverability. Notable service items include the replacement of the fuel pump, filter, center shaft bearing, water pump, air suspension pump, secondary air pump, and front control arms in February 2021. Additionally, the outer tie rods, spark plugs, coolant, and brake fluid were serviced in August 2023.

This sale will include a clean title, the original head unit, and new rear hatch struts.

The seller would like you to know: "Thanks for looking at the PJeep, as I often call it. It's an amazingly competent off-road vehicle - lots of torque, clearance, and onboard air compressor. However, unlike any Jeep that can compete with it on the trails or rock crawling, it's also very comfortable on the highway. I'll do my best to answer any questions. Happy bidding."

@MJK29340 I have no reason to doubt it can safely be driven across the country. Under my ownership, it's done road trips to Denver and back to ABQ, as well as three round trips to Tucson with no issues at all. It runs and drives great. The Carfax has as much info about the accident and damage as I do. Both happened before my ownership, and there is no evidence of damage to the vehicle.

  • MJK29340 (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 4 daysago

Can it be safely driven from NM to SC, NY, or Florida is the last question?

    The bottom line is:
Should we expect to provide major drive train repairs or replacement upon purchase?
Is it really running that well @207,193mi (TMU) for no mention of the operational condition due to mileage and prior accidents? Where are the accidents listed?

Under three hours to go! This Cayenne does have a lot of miles, but it also has a long history of ownership by PCA members, so you can have confidence that it has been well maintained - at least that was my reasoning when I bought it.
One other thing, although no one has asked about it, I do have the sliding cargo cover that mounts behind the rear seats. It is in great shape and works perfectly. Sorry it was not in any of my photos.
    Good luck to all bidders!

@MJK29340 I have always had all work done that was recommended by the shop where I have the Cayenne serviced. The last time it was in the shop for oil change was May 21, and the only other thing it needed was AC refrigerant recharge.

What does the workshop say about the condition of the engine, transmission, suspension and mileage?

@stacrock According to Rennbow, the code is LP3G, and it's 4 out of 5 paint cans rare!

  • stacrock 3 weeks, 5 daysago

Such a beautiful Pure Red. Do you have the paint code by any chance?

I added a photo of the front bumper skid plate receipt, as well as pictures of the deployed awning. The awning is in great shape. It's great for a lunch picnic stop if there's no natural shade. I've also used it in the rain and it is waterproof and works great for that too. I did fabricate some new brackets for mounting the awning, so that I could mount it to the top rail of the roof rack instead of the lower rail. That way the awning stays off the roof when stowed, plus it gives a couple of extra inches of elevation.

@AIR_MotorSports The receipt I have from the previous owner indicates that the bumper and skid plate were fabricated by Collisions Plus Performance in Escondido, CA. I'll upload a picture of the receipt shortly.
I'll take a picture with the awning deployed and add that to the listing too.

Who made the front bumper bar and skid plate? Any photos with the awning deployed?

Hi all, just a heads up that I will be out on the river this weekend and unlikely to have signal to answer questions until Sunday evening. I'll be sure to get to any questions or concerns when I get back in town. Thanks.

  • smathias (seller) 4 weeks, 1 dayago

@vmrojo Yes, it has the upgraded coolant pipes. All the other issues that these cars are known to suffer from have been addressed at one point or other, with the exception of the cardon shaft. The seal on that is not cracked and it is not making any noise.

  • vmrojo (registered bidder) 4 weeks, 1 dayago

Nice. Are the plastic intake pipes changed out to metal ones?

Hello PCarMarket viewers. Thanks for looking at my auction. I know it can be stressful buying a vehicle sight unseen. I've done it a few times, and sold one this way too. In fact I bought this Cayenne the same way. I'll be here to answer questions as best I can. To start with, I would like to explain the TMU title status. The problem arose after I purchased the vehicle and was getting it titled in NM. The previous CA title did not have the mileage because it was not required in CA due to vehicle's age. NM does not have the same law, so NM MVD added the TMU status. I have a copy of the previous CA title with the mileage written in the transfer of ownership portion of the document. I can add it to the photos on request.
The PJeep is a fun and cool car, but I'm getting things in order to retire and need to downsize. My loss *will* be somebody's gain!
