The second iteration of Porsche’s mid-engine Boxster sports car, the 987 version was introduced in 2005 featuring significantly revised styling, additional luxuries, and a more powerful range of flat-six engines. This 2006 Porsche 987 Boxster is finished in Seal Grey Metallic over a Black interior and is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission paired with its 2.7-liter engine. It comes equipped with optional heated seats, automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, 17” Boxster S wheels, and an Exclusive chrome exhaust tailpipe. Purchased by the current owner in 2022, this Boxster is now being offered for auction out of Minnesota with approximately 58k miles showing on the odometer.
This Boxster is finished in Seal Grey Metallic with a black cabriolet roof. Equipment includes integrated fog lights, heated power mirrors, side air intakes, dual roll hoops, a removable cabin wind deflector, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a central-mounted exhaust outlet with an optional dual-tipped chrome tailpipe finisher. The car rides on 17” Boxster S wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps and Continental tires from 2013. The seller notes the car has been kept in a climate-controlled garage and was only driven during the spring and summer under their ownership. A clean CARFAX report is provided in the gallery.
The Black interior features manually adjustable heated leather seats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, and matching Porsche-branded carpet floor mats. Other accessories include Boxster-logo door sills, a leather-wrapped shift knob, power windows, a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, a digital trip computer, an alarm system, an AM/FM CD stereo, a 6-disc CD changer, and an optional Bose sound system. The seller notes some signs of wear on the climate control buttons.
Rated at 240 HP and 199 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 2.7-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment includes power steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and fixed 4-piston brake calipers with cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The CARFAX report shows 18 maintenance history records including an oil change in September 2024.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car for 2 years and have only driven it in the spring/summer, during which time it has been stored it in a climate-controlled garage. All maintenance is up to date. The car is completely stock.”

@mherf these have the dual row IMS bearing which require the engine to be split to replace. Very low failure rate on these IMS bearings especially on the 2.7. Only option is to remove the bearing seal to allow more lubrication.
@mherf not that I’m aware of.
Was the IMS replaced by any of the owners?
