We are pleased to present this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera S aerokit finished in Speed Yellow over a Black leather interior.  Factory optioned with a highly desirable exterior aerokit, 19” Carrera Sport wheels and stainless-steel exhaust pipes, this 6-speed 2006 example commanded an original sticker price of over $93k.  Reported to be in phenomenal overall condition while showing just over 35k miles on the odometer, this tastefully configured 997 is now being offered by its seller in South Carolina who purchased it on PCARMARKET just over a year ago.

The eye-catching Speed Yellow finish is said to be in exceptional condition with full ceramic coating and clear 3M paint protective film preserving the front bumper and rear wheel arches (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  This 997 showcases a highly sought-after factory aerokit which includes a redesigned front fascia and a fixed rear wing derived from the GT3.  Factory optional stainless-steel exhaust pipes are also equipped along with factory 19” Carrera Sport wheels which have been recently powder coated in black.

The Black standard leather interior is reported to be like-new.  Exclusive options include tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS), Speed Yellow seatbelts and the power seat package with front seat heating.  All original specifications have been retained and the seller confirms all electronics and accessories to be fully functional.

This first generation 997 carries a 3.8 L flat-six engine which sends 355HP to the rear wheels through an engaging 6-speed manual transmission.  Using this drivetrain, 0-60 is achieved in approximately 4.5 seconds while reaching a top speed north of 180 MPH.  The Carfax report shows consistent maintenance throughout the years and the seller reports that the following service items were carried shortly before their purchase in May of 2019:

  • Oil Service
  • Fluid and Filter Changes
  • Ignition Coils Replaced
  • New Spark Plugs

This sale will also include a set of 2 keys, the original books, a car cover and a clean title.  With exciting options and rare specifications, this beautifully presented 6-speed 997 is not to be overlooked.

@leeber many supposed Porsche bloggers don’t give the Aerokit it’s due. While it may seem a bit over the top maybe to0 gaudy on the original sale the wing ALWAYS gets much more attention on the resale market. This is a wonderful car right color, 3 pedals and the wing fly high Aerokit.

wow, im only a couple hours away from this beauty and in the market for a 997 carerra s. sure cant hide in this one! love the exterior color. afraid the aerokit will take it out of my price range but will keep a watchful eye.

@Rapolsive Selling because I have another 997S and I don’t drive either of them enough. Additionally, there have been some health issues in my family. Videos posted, including shots of stainless exhausts that are free of any soot buildup .

Hi @bigchair, very beautiful car. Any particular reason you selling? Can you please record video of cold start and then also the engine running warmed up for a few minutes? Any black soot accumulating in either of the pipes? GLWS

@bigchair There is actually a company that does a direct oil feed to the bearing once the seal is removed.

  • bigchair (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@JakeMacZ Potentially is the key word. Previous to 2006, only 10% of the 911s had IMS issues. 2006 and after numbers were drastically reduced. I can only tell you truthfully that this car has not had issues. If one were ultra concerned about the IMS going forward, there are preemptive measures. The seal can be removed from the bearing which allows oil from the sump to flow freely around it. There is also a company that produces a replaceable bearing that takes the place of the non-replaceable one. That’s all I’ve got. If only The Psychic Hotline had an answer for us....

@bigchair @bigchairNot to be a pain, I just looked at PCA info and saw that all pre-2009 997's potentially have a issue with the RMS.

  • bigchair (seller) 4 years, 1 monthago

@JakeMacZ Hi Jake. I researched the IMS issue before I purchased the car. There has not been a problem with this 997. It is my understanding that by the production of this 3.8 on the 2006 models, the bearing issue had been addressed with an updated and non-replaceable IMS bearing which alleviated the issue in previous models. I’ve attached a photo of the engine serial number to the array so that you can use it for additional research if you like. Thanks for watching.
